ORIGINAL: Bill Johanesen One day close to drafting the team's needs: - DL - C/OL - CB - S - WR - TE - QB - FB - Edge - LB IOW, BPA all the way! As long as we go offense or defense or ST, we have a chance. Then gearing up for the close-out specials at the dollar store, aka cutdowns after preseason. Then we drive our little shriner car called Murray to 17-0. According to Ohio State nose tackle Kayden McDonald the Vikings sought him out for a pre-draft chat. If he's available to us in the first round it looks like we could pull the trigger on a nose tackle. According to this article sounds like quite a few teams are interested in McDonald. https://vikingsterritory.com/2026/news/top_news/kayden-mcdonald-vikings-draft-visit Here's some online hype about McDonald. I think he'd look good in purple. "Dominant Run Defender: McDonald is regarded as perhaps the best run-stopping tackle in the 2026 class, using quickness and power to dominate the interior and stuff opposing running games. 2025 Performance: Following a breakout 2025 season, he recorded 65 tackles, 9 tackles for loss, and 3 sacks. NFL Potential: Projections place him as a first-round pick or high-tier prospect with "day-one starter" potential in the NFL, often described as a "problem" for offensive linemen." This would be quite a coup for the Vikings because its been broadly reported that Flores doesn't like defensive tackles, and former DTs that have played for him say his schemes don't allow them to prosper. Plus the first four mocks I looked up don't even have McDonald going in the first round (espn, nfl.com). So in other words, we're playing the draft perfectly, obscuring our real intention (NT) and throwing enough shade at McDonald to ensure he'll be available at #18.
