Teasley has zero ties to JJM.....it will be interesting to see what happens these last two-three weeks before the season starts.

Trade him away or rehab him?

Thought O'Connell was the QB rehab guru?

JJM looks worse than he did when he arrived. Looks like an organization failure on a young qb to me.

I have that feeling that people are gonna start to see KOC for what he is this year. I hope I have to eat my words and we make a playoff run.

Hope Murray can stay healthy. He's not the greatest but he's miles better than the rest on the roster.

The question is what do we know over the battles over the final 53 and roster? That is the tricky part of blaming KOC versus Kwesi. We know that Teasley now has that control but both answer to the Wilfs.

In 40 career games (nine starts), the 6-foot-5, 295-pound Harris has produced 91 tackles, including seven for losses, one sack and seven quarterback hits. Harris recorded the bulk of those stats — 43 tackles and a sack — over 17 games and five starts for Denver in 2023.

Harris also had a brief stint with Miami and made seven appearances for Carolina in 2024.

The veteran DL rejoins a room that has added draft picks Caleb Banks and Domonique Orange, plus 28-year-old Isaiahh Loudermilk, among others, since his initial departure.

Still camp fodder. Exaggerating with camp fodder to make what point? When are final cuts?

Rash and exaggerate your point of view at all costs once again. Let’s draft two guys for the interior this year and last and not let it play out. . Oh and because that’s Bills POV that cap can’t be used during the last few weeks before the season starts.

My premise all along is the DL is inexperienced. So who are these top DL players we can sign if the DL is not 'fine'?

They run a 3-4 and keep at most 5-6 so who do you want to cut out of Redmond, Banks, Big Citrus, Elijah Williams, Ingram-Dawkins (who will play inside and outside), and Rodriguez or are you referring to the OLB of Van Ginkel, Golday, and Turner who really aren't the DLine?

Considering YOU have kept on about signing a DL FA if needed, the question is who do YOU want to cut. I've never advocated replacing any DL player with some summer FA so don't start that BS. You alone own your FA rescue plan.

The stuff that I've read about Harbaugh was the Wilf's were very interested, but they thought it would be better in going with someone who was the opposite of Zimmer, personality wise.

Zimmer personality wise was a problem for the guys on offense.....mostly Kirk and the kicker.

No, Zimmer in general was the issue. Jeff is right, they went with a kumbaya type after Zimmer.

By almost all reports later in his tenure, Zimmer was a problem for the defensive players. He and Rhodes had a sideline blowup. Zimmer wanted the defensive backs in exact spots.

Yes Zimmer literally ran the highly touted Daniel Carlson out of Minnesota.

Zimmer didn't even get along with Spielman.

I think Carlson was later.....he wasn't the kicker that missed the playoff FG. (Blair Walsh)

Rhodes was toast if not done in zone coverage that year but when they found out Spielman and Zimmer didn't talk to each other they both were gone.

No Carlson was not later. Carlson was during Zimmer's reign... in fact, pretty close to smack dab in the middle of his reign. And Carlson of course did not miss a playoff FG because Zimmer released him in September of his rookie year.

Rhodes was a Pro Bowler the year of the blowup, but that was mostly based on reputation. But it didn't stop Zimmer from publicly saying Rhodes needed to live up to his contract.

So again, along with ragging on the D, not communicating with Spielman, Zimmer infected the team beyond mostly 'Kirk and the kicker' (Walsh for you, Carlson for me).

He became an authoritarian and it was definitely time to hire someone who could cool down the room.

Bump.

Phil, do you have an issue with what I just said here?

Or are you hoping your Blair Walsh tangent gains traction?

Both?

Which kicker did he ruin? Certainly not Carlson. Not sure how you can exaggerate away that.

No he didn't ruin Carlson. You are right. He just gave up on him way too quickly.

While I had grown tired of Zim, and was ready to to move on..

KOC has been a wet blanket and the past GM/ upper management has been a total let down..

We haven’t had a good QB since Cullpepper, ( i exclude Favrey, for packer bias and because he has proven to be an off field douchbag..)

Cousins was a teaser who only cared about his money, and Darnold limp dicked games that mattered most, stat monsters don’t win championships.

This should be a total hot seat season for KOC and McCarthy is basically useless as a QB.

Great handoff and play action, at times, sometimes running on busted plays, but reading defenses and delivering catchable passes on time and quickly.. not even close.

We are still, looking for a franchise level QB.

Until we find one, we are pretenders.

Agreed.

I think KOC is pretty mediocre. His stats were padded right along with KFC. And his media presence/messaging just seems fake to me. I'm not a believer.

Seems obvious to me that JJM was NOT his pick and KOC will have no issue with him moving on.

To date, I am wrong on JJM and am surprised by his performance, to some extent. I watched all of his snaps at Umich and he was not just a handoff merchant. He has the tools.

So, I don't know if it is just that he sucks as an NFL QB, which is certainly possible, or if he is just kinda mediocre right now but looks worse due to lack of continuity (injuries)/playing time and a lot of poor play last year by others (LT was brutal and TONS of drops by WR and Hockenson). Regardless, I think his time in MN is coming to an end. I don't see KOC wanting to risk his paycheck on this kid and JJM knows it, which can't help a young QB.

I am not a believer in Kyler. He will tease you with great plays and then break your heart with knucklehead shit. Personally, I would roll with JJM and see what you've got. It's not like Caleb Williams put up great numbers through 10 games....but I'm not coaching for another paycheck like KOC is.

I think Flores is way better than KOC, btw.

If JJM is toast, then all we have done is bought another year of "meh". Upside: Kyler gets us to the payoffs and we lose and he wants a payday that would be too rich to pay him or dumb if we did. Downside, another shit year and wasted talent of so many good players on the roster.

I'm not too excited about the season, other than looking forward to Flores' defense wreak havoc!

The offense should be more balanced. There are a lot of rookies that will be getting PT. The biggest surprise might be the FB/TE. Can we get a rushing first down on third and short?

Teasley has zero ties to JJM.....it will be interesting to see what happens these last two-three weeks before the season starts.

Thought O'Connell was the QB rehab guru?

So if he can't fix every QB it's his fault?
Could it be JJM just isn't that good?

I think the QB whisperer thing is overblown but I'm not sure how you magically trasform a kid that has:
1) been hurt more the 50% of the time he has been with the club.
2) has a ton of BASIC issues: mechanics, touch, decision making, etc...
3) has shown some resistance to taking coaching

This from a guy who DESPARATELY wanted JJM to succeed. I just don't see it in him other than a great arm.

My point is it appears JJM has regressed since his rookie TC where he was neck and neck with Darnold prior to the knee injury.

There was also Dobbs that regressed the more O'Connell tried to coach him. Hall and Brosmer that looked like dog shit too.

Just starting to see a pattern and O'Connell is the only common denominator.

You think all QBs should be great? JJM is still 23 but Dobbs, Hall, and Brosmer should be great QBs? Darnold was considered a retread before he came here and he and Cousins have been the most talented.

There should be much higher standards for the 9th overall pick than a 4th and 5th rounder and an undrafted kid.

Kirk is a very good regular season QB. Very good. But he was the same guy for us that he was his final 3 years in DC. Pretty much exactly.

Darnold benefited more from talent around him than coaching. But he was a much more confident QB last year than he was with us - and that carried over into the Playoffs. He was making throws last year that he wouldn't attempt with us.

I do not think KOC is any kind of "QB whisperer". But he is a guy that players love and will run through walls for him. That's his strength. He commands a locker room and he gets guys to buy in. He's loved and respected by his players. I can't think of a player that has left and said a bad word about him.

But he's not a great game day coach. He still struggles with a lot of basics and he doesn't adjust/adapt.

Not trying to be an ass...

But the common denominator with those guys is that none of them really had success anywhere.

Kirk played his best ball with KOC.
Same for Darnold.

Does that make him a qb whisperer?
I agree the jury is definiately out.

I think it's closer to say KOC does better with vets... hasn't shown any ability yet to develop a rookie qb.

That being said... JJM had every opportunity to come in and blow away a mediocre Murray... and failed pretty badly.

LOL! You think you said it once!

Aug 4. They have $$$ to sign a (DL) guy yet or after cuts.
Aug 5. $21 million in salary cap space after O'Neil extension. There will be cuts and adds......maybe/maybe not IDL.
Aug 6. So we are fine at IDL since we do have cap space and we can sign one if needed after cuts? Lol
Aug 20. DL is fine (for now and if needed they have Preseason and cap space for additions).

Oh, you never answered my question regarding what DL players are out there to sign as part of your DL plan as required.

But you have the gall to keep asking me who would be cut. It's YOUR plan! Why don't YOU answer the questions about YOUR plan and stop being obtuse.

God it was funny to read the various beatdowns you sustained.

One from early Aug, where you said 'I lost the JJM battle' was a riot!

Now all you have is the word exaggeration and misplaced emojis. And I sense an upcoming big goalpost move! Sad.

But he's not a great game day coach. He still struggles with a lot of basics and he doesn't adjust/adapt.

100%. Timeouts for playclock issues, lack of adjustments, goofy decisions, trying to get "too cute" with some playcalls. I find his presence, based on what I see in the lockerroom and media, to be pretty corporate-speak and inauthentic. I obviously don't see what the players do, but I don't find his style or demeanor inspiring.

KOC has never met a timeout he didn't want to burn.

Well, Phil said the Dl was "fine" but if not (?) we can always sign a FA (because good talent is automatically out there in August). And we did!

The team announced Monday it signed defensive lineman Jonathan Harris and tight end Matt Lauter. Minnesota waived third-year defensive lineman Taki Taimani and rookie cornerback Tyreek Chappell with injury designations in corresponding moves.

The 30-year-old Harris originally signed with Minnesota in December 2024 and spent the 2025 season on the Vikings practice squad before he was released in January of this year.

Harris joined Chicago in 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of Lindenwood, which was a Division-II program at the time, and he stayed with the Bears until late October that season. Harris joined Denver soon thereafter and played 31 games for the Broncos through 2023.

Whew.

Strange logic, you say the DL is fine because we can always sign a FA to make it fine

Not referring to Edge nor LB. Don't even begin to bring them into the equation.

Kept on or said it once and you keep bringing it up in exaggerated fashion?

The real question...Who should they cut of the young or inexperienced guys---you know your stated opinion that they are too inexperienced?

Wrong. I said they are inexperienced, not too inexperienced. Big difference. And, again, they are intriguing. Just another example of you being dishonest and assigning your words to me. You don't deserve to get away with that.

As for your first sentence, that would be 4 replies, posts. Fine, let's switch gears. How is your boy JJM, or as you call him, "the QBOTF"?

So you can't answer who you'd cut so moving on then? Using words like dishonest when you know who exaggerated.

He still is the QBOTF until cut or traded.....correct?

Usually a rash poster or a poster with a nasty rash doesn't look at things like who would you cut or a young qb on the roster being considered a QBOTF....

Such a silly reply, used as a fallback when you have nothing. I'm not cutting any of them. I haven't posted 4 times there is $ to replace one or more of them with a FA. Still waiting on that glorious FA BTW.

Your. Plan. You. Answer.

How is that sooo difficult for you to understand?

No, JJM is not the QBOTF. He was recently demoted, not promoted.

Your last sentence is gobbledygook. You have a nasty rash?

So your final answer was it (the IDL) now looks intriguing and you don't know who they should cut....lol
In your rash, exaggerated opinion JJM isn't QBOTF; which is fine. Mine is he is the QBOTF until cut or traded then we move on to the next.

Who was actually being dishonest then?

Wrong again Phil, my INITIAL premise was the DL is inexperienced and is intriguing. And that hasn't changed.

This is my first sentence in a post from Aug 5: Bottomline, the DL is largely unknown yet intriguing. More intriguing than last year.

I've lost count how often you changed what I said. You are simply a liar.

If you want to stoop so low as to change a common meaning in a quest to hold onto hope for JJM, knock yourself out. Sounds about right for you.

Get your nasty rash checked.

Gotta steal words now that you can't answer...again who is dishonest? Did you just become "intrigued" when I asked you (with a list of players) who you wanted to cut?

This is my first sentence in a post from Aug 5: Bottomline, the DL is largely unknown yet intriguing. More intriguing than last year.

BAM! What's your next sneaky-worded lie Phil?
