What a bizarre game. Glad to get the win, especially under the circumstances but man...

We saw the absolute best and WORST of KOC.
Wentz isn't perfect but he battled it out at the end and made some huge throws.
Given their new assignments you gotta give the OLine a game ball.
Addison benched is not good but he made it count when we needed him most.
Pace was once again a complete no-show. As was mentioned on the gameday thread, his best tackle was on punt return against our guy
The next play either Hargraves or Allen makes will be their first.

Self scout and get healthy.

It was an ugly game like most predicted, but we came out with a W. KOC did much better with a lot more quick passes and it worked (note: to do this in the future). Glad we came out with the win but this next week or so will give some of the guys time to take a look in the mirror and what can they do to be better. Enjoy the bye week everyone. SKOL!

should have been a tie game going into that last drives, apparently...

Reichard's miss hit a sky cam wire...

thought it hooked weirdly to the right

they say it should have been an automatic re-kick

The hyphen guys(TID & LDR) are outplaying them.

here is a reddit page with a video showing the wire and the obvious effect on the ball trajectory....

"Kevin O’Connell told reporters during the post-game that Addison missed a walkthrough during the week, and as a result was benched for the first quarter. You’d think that it would be damn near impossible to get in trouble during something as highly regimented as an NFL trip to a foreign country, but Addison managed to find a way somehow."...dailynorseman

Shit like that doesn't matter, the important thing is the NFL International train keeps chugging.

Probably slept on the M25. What side of the expressway would have been his preferred napping spot? He has chosen to sleep in the fast/passing lane here so did he stop in the rightmost lane there?

Or maybe he brought his dog over and had to rescue him at 3:00 am.

I don't know, but he sure is a stud WR, awfully nice to pair him with JJ.

Game Thoughts

Pros
Brandel impressed me with first game at center... wouldn't mind seeing get more time there
KOC I thought did a good job of helping Wentz get the ball out quicker
JJ... amazing
Addison... always seems to come up with big plays at crucial times
Wright's punting was awesome

Cons
Run def is not good... don't know if it can be fixed
Wentz tries to scramble too much... he doesn't have that ability anymore
Pentalties are really frustrating... back to back holding penalties on kickoff returns by 41... exasperating

To be clear, am somewhat curious what Let's Get Paid did mainly for entertainment value. As long as such things are legal, don't hurt anyone, etc, just get out there and play. A hungover Kenny Stabler would be preferable to the Vikings QBs of the last decade plus.

I don't think this can be overstated. Outstanding job considering he had never played the position and didn't have a super long ramp up period. I expected snap issues, penalties, delay of games ect....

Maybe I’m wrong but I doubt if there’s anything in the rule book that would allow the refs to award another try, is there?

It’s an unfortunate freak occurrence, but I don’t think there’s anything the refs could have done about it, outside of noticing the obstruction before the snap and getting it cleared.

There are actually rules governing this.

I know there have been "re punts" when the Jerry Jones mega screen in their stadium would get hit by a punt.

They should have been awarded a re kick.

It looks like you’re right.

Vikings got screwed.

How do you miss a walk through?

That kind of shit is inexcusable...

the kid is a great receiver, but I am fed up with all these childish antics...

is it possible someone wants to trade for him that would reap a first round pick?

can't imagine we could get that kind of return

Not feeling much hope he stops being all about "me" and consider the team

Couldn't agree more. Brandel was a G/T his whole life. He takes reps at C for a week and makes a good showing at the position. I've ripped his play at G relentlessly, but we'll done.

I think it's a tough call.

Kid could be Cris Carter... or he could be Josh Gordon.
Do you bail on a consistent playmaker? Make no mistake, he is one of the few who shows up during the biggest moments.

Part of me says "no way would I trust him with monster new contract".
Part of me says "LT, Michael Irvin, etc... were no angels".

Whatever the Vikes choose... my gut says it'll blow up in their face. ;-)

I was pretty convinced that CB was going to be the weakness of the defense.
The jury may still be out but I'd probably not believed you if you told me how amazing Rodgers was going to be in the first 5 weeks.

Seems Reichard would have been the best person to notice it. If he did, wondering if he brought it up to KOC? Or did the Special Teams coach? Did KOC say anything to the refs?

If there was complete inaction on the teams part, then the team let themselves get screwed.

May have been able to challenge the play
