Status: offline 		Listened to a disturbing pod yesterday on Skol North. I say it's disturbing because of the facts they brought. Okudah is dead last in rating amongst all eligible this year. They also claimed that because he's so bad they are trying to not play him and instead use 3 safeties in the nickel. That would jive when you see Metellus being asked to cover WR's all the time.

Just another example of piss pour offseason preparation.

At least with starting McCarthy, you have the excuse or reason being he his inexperienced.

Should McCarthy somehow rally them to being a playoff team this year, it would be incredibly exciting, amplified by having this current low point.

And the 3 QBs who are in the top 16 in passer rating that they have faced had passer ratings of 119.7 (2nd best this season for Rodgers), 158.3(career high for Hurts) and 122.8 (tied for 2nd best this season for Herbert).

We are bad against the pass when facing even an average QB.

Just one more thing that is below par. The competency of our team doctors. If KOC is telling the truth about team doctors saying he was fine to be in game, we got problems.

i was disappointed when we lost ben sims on waivers a few years back,,,.


Sims returning to Minnesota

The Vikings were awarded Sims after he was placed on waivers by the Packers.

Sims first joined the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in May 2023. After a solid preseason, he was waived during roster cuts as the Vikings narrowed from 90 players to 53.

The Packers quickly scooped up Sims via waivers in August 2023. Sims played in all 17 games for Green Bay in each of his first two seasons, recording four catches in each campaign.

The defense is 19th in yards against and 16th in takeaways. Given that the offense can't get a first down, that isn't all that bad.

The offense is horrific. The only thing keeping the team in games is the takeaways and play of the defense. How many games have you watched this season where you said to yourself, "thank goodness we've got a decent defense or we'd be getting blown out". For me, it happens almost once a game.

I agree, people have adapted, like the end of last year.

Some of it I think is, Flores has a gambling compulsion. Even on plays like 3rd and 15 where straight up solid defense should give you the edge against the house, he’s still drawing up ‘fun ones’ with his greaseboard markers.

Our sad secondary is part of that, ofcourse.

Back to Flores' D being figured out:

- The D is 27th in ypa
- The D is 27th in QB rating
- The D is 28th (tied) in interceptions

- They are tied for 3rd in fumbles recovered with 5 (3 puts you in the 12th to 20th range) and 4th in forced fumbles. That's part of being 16th in takeaways but rings pretty hollow given the pass D deficiencies.

Yes, Flores' D has been figured out.
