And we draft another ****ing TE.

Basically a pure blocking FB. Arguably the best FB in the draft, but it seems awfully early to draft one...

This is the most depressing career stat line I have ever seen..

https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/max-bredeson-1.html

How is this guy, who played 12 snaps in 5 years, worth a draft pick?

He has minimum udfa invite written all over him…

Your misreading the stats. 12 plays where he was a receiver. He was primarily a blocking TE H-Back, started many games and was a team captain. Here's his NFL BIO

2021: Redshirted as a walk-on. Played in 1 game as a reserve TE.
2022: Played in all 14 games with 1 start at TE (5-78-15.6 receiving).
2023: Team's Most Improved Player on Offense. Played in all 15 games with 3 starts for the national champions as TE/H-back (2-19-9.5 receiving).
2024: Played in all 13 games with 6 starts at FB (3-24-8.0 receiving). Team captain.
2025: Third-team All-Big Ten Conference. Played in 11 games with 8 starts at FB (2-11-5.5 receiving). Team captain. Missed the last two games of the season with a foot injury.

I don't know... not very exciting pick but if he plays FB probably has more impact this year than most of the guys I see left on the board.

I was hoping RB... but Vikes must really not like anybody.

Not super excited about trotting out Jones/Mason again.

Look at his stat page and explain how a guy like him is a fullback replacement for Ham?

6-2.. 222 lbs..

NO CARRIES IN FIVE YEARS..

12 plays in 5 years!

Omfg….

How does that career, in college even keep a scholarship

Oh wait.. he was a walk on..

Now he get to roll up to Eden prairie in his spanking new Kia..

Ham had 17 carries the past 5 years. 6 carries the last 3 years.
so we replaced his loss, with a guy with ZEROS?

I can’t even begin to express how stupid that pick seems..

My guess is he is going to be a blocking FB.
Did you watch him at Mich?
Or are you just looking at a stat sheet... blockers don't typically fill that up.
My understanding is he blocked for Blake Corum at Mich who had a pretty productive college career.

Do I love the pick... nope.
Do I think it's disaster... nope.

He also weighs 252 lbs., not 222. Older brother is an OL in the NFL. So he might be the small one in the family.

p.s. Secret Sauce: his dad was a center in college. Can he snap?

Trade up in the 6th to grab Demond Claiborne.

Yay!
Excited about this guy.

Glad they got a rb... guy is supposed to be a home run hitter... hope he has better vision than Nwangu.

Traded up IN the 6th or INTO the 6th? I also didn't think we had a 6th as of yesterday.

We still have one 7th (19th spot) vs two yesterday.

Speedy, light. Two career kickoff returns for touchdowns.

They did not. Just nabbed it.

When Todd was talking about drafting another Dom, I *almost* posted Demond as an alternative — flipping vowels in Domini into deamon, then saw Demond. Blew my big chance!

INTO

Looks like they gave up at least a 26 7th rounder.
Showing 1 7th rounder left.

Claiborne BIO says has break away speed, 4.37 40yd. Possible kick returner on special teams.

HA. That was the original Vikings pick, which they reacquired once, before trading it away again. Kismet.

ACQUIRED VIA
Minnesota Vikings
> Houston Texans
> Minnesota Vikings
> San Francisco 49ers
> New England Patriots
> Minnesota Vikings

I kinda like Scott too at RB. Bigger back so maybe he'll pair with Claiborne in 2027. Problem there is carrying 4 RBs this year.

p.s. Max Llewellyn, Iowa Edge

Take a flyer on LSU QB Garrett Nussmeier in the 7th if he's there. How can he NOT make the roster with our cavalcade of star QBs.

Claiborne is a running back who is capable of hitting a home run every time he touches the football. He’s a slashing type of back with outstanding vision and very good patience in setting up his blocks, and elite acceleration to get to the second level of the defense.

His downsides are what you would expect from any running back that checks in at under 200 pounds. He’s not great at breaking tackles and, even though he’s got the pass-catching skills to be a weapon on third downs, he’s not much as far as pass protection, at least at this point in time.

A 23-game starter in college, Claiborne earned second-team All-ACC honors in 2025. He has a compactly built frame and is explosive in short areas. Claiborne also has breakaway 4.37 speed. He can locate running lanes with good vision, then plant and accelerate through the hole between the tackles. Claiborne has shown the ability to jump cut and quickly reaccelerate, beating defenders to the edge before turning upfield. He flashes decent contact balance and can make defenders miss in the open field. Overall, Claiborne has traits to function well at the next level and bring some special teams value as a return man (two career kickoff returns for touchdowns).

I'm guessing they bring in a 1 year vet like Hopkins and try and develop the young guys.
