Yep, GBs 1st rounder goes to the Cowboys then the NYJ will select the higher of the two Cowboys first rounders. The Jets also own Indy's first rounder plus have their own. What a waste of likely high first round picks.

At this rate the original GB pick could easily be top 5-10. Oh too bad!

He played pretty decent today but if his name was Arch Johnson, this #1/Heisman-crap, would be just that.

He has touch and can see The Whole field pretty well..

Has decent mobility..

When I watch top QB’s in college, I compare them to JJM..

Who do you think looks better ?

Jeff:

I agree about the Heisman over hype..

Nepo-Heisman talk, totally

TBH, not sure

Being dead last in offense and being 3-0 wasn't on my bingo card. Very strange year so far.

I don't think his offense works right now. And part of the reason is who is at QB. Murray has a history of not working that hard at his craft and not wanting to study all that hard, something that KOC's offense kind of requires. Wentz is not a long term starting option and JJM wilts to quickly under pressure. So we may have a lot of games like this one the rest of the way.

An ugly win is a win. It's better than a pretty loss every time.

But there are a lot of concerns. Losing JJ could be very bad for this team. In the first two weeks of the season he was most of our offense and that is very concerning. Addison stepped up...but it seems odd that a solid 1b like Addison was largely unused the first two games.

Losing Josh Oliver may be the underrated loss as he is a huge contributor in our blocking schemes.

Jordan Mason has been a huge loss thusfar. Aaron Jones has been a warrior, but let's be frank here. Jones is older and fragile...he's not going to survive through the bye much less the season if they keep relying on him at this rate. Here's hoping Mason can return at the earliest eligibility.

Our defense is still really good. keeping us in every game. Holding opposing teams to field goals and out of the endzone for the most part this year. We've faced a few QBs that are tough to sack. Mayfield was escaping us a lot yesterday or we could have had 12 sacks in the game. That being said our D is relentless, just keeps coming. Bflo has a case if nobody hires him as a HC next year.

Myles Price was money. that return was the difference in the game.

And Now to something very concerning for me. Kyler Murray. He's just not that good really. Jonathan Vilma repreatedly stated that the TB d was squatting on our routes and Murray couldn't find anyone open to throw to. I THOUGHT KOCs offense was complex. Not something that would be easy to squat on. But once JJ went down...and that is a huge loss...they couldn't seem to find anyone open, ever? The Vikings were NEVER in the REDZONE yesterday. That's pathetic. Anyone not named Jones was unable to run the ball. But the squatting on the routes thing seems to indicate that the offense has been "simplified" a bit for Morray. Considering his history of not really working that hard at it...this REALLY concerns me.

I have to say that our team has no give up in them...but this offense has got to get firing on all cylinders soon or we will start taking some losses. A really good OC is going to find a way to beat this D eventually and it's going to be our OFFENSE that has to take over a game. Now I will grant that missing Mason, and Jefferson and to a lesser extent Oliver have had an effect on this and the weather in Chicago played a significant factor as well, It is still very concerning. Murray only seemed to want to throw deep. Short and intermediate routes were under utilized.

Again. A Win is a win. ugly or not. A Win on the road is a big win. But we should be very worried about this offense. Maybe it's time for KOC to let Phillips call the game, or Frank Smith on the offensive side.... but none of that may matter if Murray can't handle the complexity of KOC's scheme.

It was Murray’s first complete game. And they won.

I figured it would take a little time with him. So I’m not knocking the offense for style points just yet. It didn’t help that Jefferson went down. But they need to overcome that. His presence changes defenses for sure, but his absence can’t make an offense come apart.

I’ll take ugly 3-0 any day. This defense and special teams can win a lot of games for them while the offense figures things out.

Oh I for sure think KOC is not a JJM fan.

Sidebar: replace Kyler's snaps last week with JJM. What would the narrative be?

Sorry man, I have no interest in Kyler being QB1. I wouldn't have even signed him.

I'll ask again: replace Kyler with JJM on that stinker of a game from the offense and what would you be saying?

Kyler is not good, guys. Never going to be. I know many don't agree, but put the kid out there, let him learn and see what we've got. Kyler is not good, and a poor fir for the KOC "offense".

And the KOC offense stinks. NO quick slants or short timing patters. Predictable runs and long-developing pass plays.

BFLO and ST saved his ass again.

I'm happy with an ugly win, too.

But there will be no "figuring it out'. Kyler and KOC are what they are and we are stuck with them for the good and the bad....

This

and I think most of us are...

it is so sad to see us waste Jefferson's career

I just can't understand how it is possible that our offense is so bad...

Kirk and Sam allowed us to be average...How do we run out a group of QB's this awful

I thought Kyler would at least not take so many sacks...can't even do that

just kind of embarrassing

do they keep track of 3 and outs? cuz I think we rule at that stat

OK.

I am usually one of the first to preach patience. I am usually one of those that is willing to give more chances and point out some factors that may have effected why Murray's game was so blah yesterday.

Losing one of the best WRs in the game is always going to effect the game no matter who is at QB.

But I can't get past some things here.
1. Murray had two really big red flags about his game before signing here. one was his tendency to get hurt. and the other was hs reported work ethic issues. and imho We are three weeks into the season and both have already reared their ugly heads.
2. Murray's "short" for a QB. I am starting to see that he can't see recievers open down field sometimes. and his trajectory will lead to lots of balls being batted down.

I am not going to herald JJM as our savior at QB so understand what I am saying here. Everyone points out JJMs statistics last year as a reason to give up on him. Low 50s completion percentage and and TD:INT ratio on the wrong side of 1:1. Now it is early...but where is Murray right now on those stats? Yesterday 15 for 29. and his season long TD to INT is 1:2. Not an auspicious start.

Now, what I want to see next week against the Dolphins is a more effective offense whether JJ is playing or not. spreading the ball around more and not depending on just one guy....and a more complex route scheme that gets guys open. Murray has to play a lot better or I can see the source of the 2026 Vikings demise pretty clearly.

The KOC offense reminds me of the kick-ass-offense that only works with certain guys doing certain things, and we just don't have the guys to do it!
If he continues to try to force round pegs into square holes I can see a change at head coach at the end of this season.
It is time for KOC to adjust his offense to suit his players skills or we will be stuck seeing the same terrible offense week after week....

I will go along with you there. Murray’s height bothers me more than I thought it would. I think at times it’s a real hindrance to see what’s going on downfield. And compare the difference in trajectory between Mayfield’s and Murray’s passes. Mayfield had more authority. Midrange passes seemed to almost have a downward trajectory. Murray meanwhile has to either scramble to get a clear look or loop it over people.

Murray is not some young guy or seasoned clipboard holder. He was QB1 for a long time. Heisman. #1 draft pick.

It was clear KOC was going to name him QB1, IMO because he kinda had to.

But THIS is what we get from Kyler "winning" the QB competition?! Sorry, I'm calling BS. He (KOC) is betting his job on the vet, not the youngster he didn't want to draft. That's cool if folks want to wrote off JJM - I get it. But not in favor of Kyler....

This is where i'm at. KOC's ego is going to be his downfall. He thinks that his O is so great, anyone can run it if they "get it". If not, it's their fault, not his system. I think he's a really great program builder but he's not a good OC. He's also learned to be a good HC, IMO. I wouldn't get rid of him but he needs to hire a real OC in the offseason and turn it over.

I'm also glad Teasley is here. We went to the season with a great D and ST's. It's criminal that the O is this dysfunctional at this point. We went into TC with no clear cut #1's at QB and RB. That's insane. Jones is a warrior but just doesn't have it for the long haul at this point in his career.

The plan was to go to this improved running game, move the chains type game. That probably works with Wentz to a certain extent.

With Murray, it looks to me like we need to air it out more. Throw the deep ball to set up the run. He looked a little rusty yesterday. If he leads Addison with that one bomb where he was 3 yards behind CB, his day would look a lot better.

But, if this is all we going to get from Murray, might as well go with JJM.

Good comments above like:

- Murray had two really big red flags about his game before signing here.

Thing is, neither Murray nor any of the QBs were ever going to be the answer. There was a very slim chance Murray would catch fire, but the flags were always there. I'd like to see him play a complete game with Jefferson so not writing him off yet, but the pen and paper is on the desk.
