Amateur football. It’s literally never happened in the Pro Game.

The Vikings have massive injuries on both sides of the ball and people wanted Hockenson to extend the game by running in a feel good score? Why expose the defense to unnecessary plays? Take the knee. Take the win. 100% the right move.

As much as the offense sucks and I want to see a damn touchdown it was absolutely the right move. Also saved Hockenson from a hit even though he scores fairly easily. No question it was the smart play.

There was a split second when my inability to divide the remaining time by the play clock when I said WTF...then it was...oh wait...never mind.

Perfectly natural especially when we're starved for TDs over the last 23 games

I didn't know the exact distance the Vikings needed to get a 1st down, but I thought Miami was making a mistake using their last timeout where they did. Right away, I thought, the Vikings just get a 1st down here and they can run out the clock (I didn't realize it was so close to the goal line), which turned out to be exactly what happened.

Was it foolish for Miami to take that timeout there, or was it just foolish because of what occurred?

I am not an expert but I am just wondering if KOC offense is just taking too long to develop and that is why we have so many injuries on Oline?

Are we just asking to much time they need to block? I say this because in the last 2 yrs every qb it seems just hold the ball

name those QBs...

McCarthy - young guy getting his first starts...they tend to hold the ball too long
Wentz - Acquired late, still learning the offense last year....then when he was starting to get it...went down for the year.
Murray - still learning the offense...that will lead to holding the ball too long.
and Brosmer - less talented than McCarthy and overwhelmed. of course holding the ball too long.

There are slow developing plays to be sure. but the route concepts are pretty complex and it takes time to learn them.

I do think that KOC has dumbed down the offense a bit for Murray as he's learning it. In the Bucs game Jonathan Vilma kept saying they are squatting on the routes. that tells me they are not running the more complex route trees yet.

Murray is concerning me greatly. But play design could help him if they rolled him out from time to time. Or teach him to master the 7 step drop like another short QB named Brees did. The problem here is Murray is not known for his work ethic.

You left out Darnold and Cousins ... who also tended to hold onto the ball too long even when they were operating at a high level ... and its pretty obvious.

Complex offense ... check
Slow developing plays ... check
Slow dissertation-length playcalls into the offense ... check
Commitment to the three above regardless of situation, QB, and what the defense is doing ... check

Obviously, when the system works it can be effective and rack up wins. At least until defenses grease their wheels around playoff time.

I'm looking forward to seeing how much anti-KOC-skill set Murray adapts to KOC and how much anti-Murray-mindset KOC adapts to Murray. There's the injury thing of course, it's a long season ... but if the two parties can find a way to complement each other better ... it could get interesting.

I didn't include them because osure was talking about the last two years.

This year and last...

My point was, it didnt start two years ago.

It applies to anybody operating KOCs offense.

Regardless of age, experience, skill set, or zodiac sign.

You already asked two related questions in your previous post, although those questions mixed in whether KOC contributed to the OL injuries.

Out with it already. Step on the gas and state your point. We already have one poster who posts veiled accusations as questions. Don't be him.

KOC now uses his system with all the things Tom listed, for about 2 1/2 quarters.

Then KOC abandons it for a drive or 2, running the ball and short passes, maybe a pass to Hock, enough to run the clock and get a lead.

If he has a decent lead, KOC does about what it takes to run the clock, and secure the win, as long as the defense shuts the other team down.

Odell Beckham Jr, or at least the shell of the man he used to be, has been signed to the Vikings Practice Squad.

If Murray cant or won’t throw the ****ing ball, no receiver will “ rescue” anything..

o'connell's gameplan is going to be: wr's go deep, while beckham and hockenson do 5yd curls....

Sadly that's probably better play design than he's currently drawn up.

Pierre has played about 36% of our defensive snaps. That number should be higher.

Lowest passer rating against among CB this season

James Pierre: 2.1
Kristian Fulton: 16.7
Trent McDuffie: 21.1
Josh Wallace: 27.6
Malik Muhammad: 41.9

He was throwing it better from the Shotgun in the second half.....he either keeps on improving or we have the reincarnation of Bernie Kosar at QB.....(Wentz) with less than zero mobility.

I thought the Vikings might sign DeAndre Hopkins, who openly asked to be signed to go along with Murray

Probably why Beckham signed here. He can put up goose eggs as well.
