Quenton Nelson is the only name I've heard in trade talks that moves the needle for me. Only if, we don't have to overpay, we can sign/extend him to a multi year deal and are comfortable with Jackson moving to RG.

Under no circumstance do I want to trade high round picks for an "older" RB like Barkley or Taylor. Maybe a Pollard type for a low round pick for insurance and depth.

I won't even mention David Boston and Bernardo Harris (whoever the hell he was with 9.5 sacks over his 8 career years

And I won't mention the 50 things I was right about during that time, or the fact that you have never really advocated for anyone, or the fact that you don't have the balls to back someone that doesn't have instant popularity with everyone.

Barkley opened things up for the Eagles offense so they could win a SB, a stud RB does that, and Taylor could do the same for Minnesota.

What a stud does on a team that doesn't have a great off setting supporting cast, is not that same as what he can do for a team that has the supporting cast. I also believe Lamelo Ball makes the Timberwolves a contender, while just putting up nice offensive stats in Charlotte.

Vikings might be able to get Taylor for 2027 2nd, a 2027 3rd, and a 2028 3rd, so no 1st round picks given up.

I realize Taylor is unlikely, I enjoy going against conventional, or conservative thinking.

I have seen the Packers build a team, and win 2 Super Bowls, while I lived in Wisconsin. It was moves like getting Reggie White after they got Brett Favre, and then adding DE Sean Jones and TE Kieth Jackson, along with WR Andre Rison. The conservative commenters here, would have said the team can't afford to trade for Reggie White, or Kieth Jackson or Andre Rison, why get those guys when you can get some real bargain guys instead.

It might take some bold moves to win a Super Bowl.

I'd rather have Nelson for that.

I’d rather have the picks.

Seriously, the picks have far more value than an aged out running back..

Trading pick for a shelf life of 4 years out the gate is just dumb..

If a RB is over 4 years in carries his next carry might be his last.

Every time Jones takes a hit, I cringe..

I would rather have Taylor, but wouldn't put that much up for Nelson, it shouldn't take that much.

I wonder if Mason will outrun Taylor on Sunday, to quiet the Taylor talks.

Mason will be at home against a bad defense, while Taylor is on the road against the best defense in the NFL, but Mason has to split his carries with Jones.

Here's a link to his last years highlights. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bChIRwHKeuc He looks like he gets through the holes fast and can break tackles for extra yards. Depends on cost?

He will be a RFA in 2027, so chargers can match any Ofer to keep him.

Would probably take a draft pick or two to pry him loose..

The Chargers started to play him the last few games, a trio rotation, I think they're trying to shop him.

I think the Vikings could get him for a 3rd rounder, would that be worth it ?

Giving up a third for somebody’s #3 back would be ultra cuckoo.

From what I've been reading the Chargers haven't been happy with Omari Hampton and have reduced his playing time in favor of Vidal. So it could mean Hampton is on the trading block.

You're probably right Tom, but we do have 2 3rds, if we like the guy for depth. Do you think they would take a 5th for Vidal, or Hampton?

Not that we’ve done a lot with 3rd rounders in the draft …

(Hunter 11 years ago)

I would think a 5th rounder is premium for a #2 RB much less #3 RB in someones rotation.

Can we just clearly come out on top of a trade once? A reverse Greenard deal …
