Ricky, good job picking Minnesota, and good luck with the rest of your picks. I was thinking Miami at first, but wonder if they might be distracted and TB gets their 1st win ? Do you have your lock for the week ?

Here are my picks:

TEN over Jax
ATLANTA over Seattle
GB over Philly
Buf over PITTS
NY GIANTS over Oak
INDY over St. Louis
BALT over Cincy
Det over CHI
SF over Car
Hou over ARI
Den over SD
N.O. over Dallas
Tampa over MIAMI

I put a lot of points on NO over Dallas - scary with NO losing last 2/3

Biggest lock of the week with out a spread has to be Jac to lose ... again

I don't think GB loses at home to the worst defense - got one point on it though so I'm not that confident in any thing (go Eagles!)

You get over 10 games right this week you've had a good week. I think next week is harder

The locks of the week are with the spreads Ricky. So we don't have you down for any locks this week, unless you want to pick a game that isn't at noon.

I like your pick of N.O., but don't know if I would have put a lot of points on them, Dallas is a little bit erratic. Agreed on GB, that's why they are my lock.

There was never money involved in this Ricky. You were included because you put a few locks down, and you got one right. I can't really include you this week as you didn't want anything to do with the spread. You had Jax to lose, but they won.

Brad (and now Ricky as well), somebody could have came to this site awhile back, and bet on the opposite of our locks of the week and made a nice chunk of money. I'm sure glad my lock jinxed the Packers, should have that a long time ago.

My absolute can't-miss, no-brainer, mark-it-down, crazy-not-to-bet-it lock of the week is taking San Francisco and giving the six points to Carolina.

Now, run to your bookies and bet the Panthers because I am as bad at this crap as any human on earth.

Rooting hard for the Bucaneers to get on a mini 4 or 5 game roll.

I have a feeling KC is going to pull an upset in Denver, and then Denver is going to upset them in KC 2 weeks later.

I wouldn't call the Broncos winning in KC an upset. They'll probably be 3 point favorites in KC.

NFL Predictions

AFC East
NE 12-4
Mia 7-9
NYJ 6-10
Buf 5-11

The Pats despite their struggles are on pace for an 11 or 12 win season. The Dolphins are on pace for 7-9 but they're a tough team to figure out. I saw them in Miami a couple of weeks ago against the Bills and it was like their season, ups and downs with a critical error and last second loss mixed in with some great plays. The Jets are playing tough as I expected (Ryan is a good coach) but they're also finding ways to win vs quality opponents. The Bills have been hit with some injuries to their core young players in Manuel and Spiller that have set them back and it's a shame. Their D looks promising for the future especially the DLine still 5-11 or 6-10 sounds about right.

AFC North
Pit 10-6
Cin 8-8
Balt 8-8
Cle 7-9

The steelers have been poor, the early season loss of Pouncey was huge but they're getting torched on defense as well. The Ravens are a .500 team and Flacco looks like the QB I always thought he was safe for the most important 6 game stretch of his life. The Bengals are the favorites and a good team but Dalton isn't making enough plays, still think they win this division. The Browns can't be counted out either, they have plety of division games and Campbell has played well. This team would probably be first had they realized the detriment that is Weeden.

AFC South
Hou 11-5
Indy 10-6
Ten 4-12
Jax 3-13

Houston has been a train wreck. Though they're victims of some tough defeats, though their two wins were fortunate as well. Nightmare season for them but I think they'll bounce back next season. The Colts are tough to figure out, but they're a poor team aside from Luck and Mathis. The Titans are 4-5 but they just lost to the Jags at home. The Jags, well at least they play hard.

AFC West
Den 13-3
KC 9-7
SD 7-9
Oak 4-12

Broncos are rolling. The Chiefs are undefeated still and have as many wins as my projection 9 games in. I expected their defense to be elite and while I still don't believe in Smith, the team in general is riding the momentum. A loss to Denver could set them back into a mini losing streak. The Chargers have been quite impressive but they still lose games like Norv Turner is coaching them. They should be at least 6-3 IMO. The Raiders have played better than expected but Pryor is being figured out, they could easily go 1-6 and hit my projection.

What an ugly conference!

NFC East
NYG 10-6
Phi 9-7
Dal 8-8
Was 6-10

While the Giants have 3 straight they're a bad team. Eli has looked lost and Cruz and Nicks can't make plays, but who knows it's the Giants. The Eagles have been jekyll and hyde which comes with the growing pains of a new scheme. They're defense has improved in recent weeks and Foles still might be fools gold but can't argue with his production. The Cowboys i thought would coast to the division title but injuries have set them back. Think they're terribly coached team as well. The Skins defense is putrid, and it took RGIII too long to get going but he's getting it back, they truly are a 6-10 team.

NFC North
GB 10-6
Chi 10-6
Min 7-9
Det 7-9

The Packers have a tough sked and no Rodgers for a bit, they'll probably wind up 10-6 but by taking another route. The Bears defense has really fallen off, the loss of Melton is massive, they're a mystery to me. The Lions have looked good and the defense is picking up their game, the front 7 has been solid all season. They look like the team beat, we shall see, they play the Pack on TG that may decide the North. We are not a 7-9 team this season but a little better execution and decisions down the stretch could have made us a 4-5 team, still we look more like a 5-11 team on the balance of play.

NFC South
Atl 11-5
NO 10-6
TB 7-9
Car 6-10

Way off on this division. The Saints are back and the defense is leaps and bouds better. The Falcons are a poor team with a good passing game. With OLine struggles and injuries to Jones and White they have nothing and will be picking in the top 5. The Bucs are better than 1-8, but they lost their first 2 games when they deserved better, who knows how the season plays out had they started 2-0. The Panthers are legit and a real contender in the NFC. I wasn't convinced about the defense especially the secondary but they're a top 5 unit. I also wasn't convinced about Rivera but he's been sending the right message to his team with his new found nickname River Boat Ron. They're the Chiefs of the NFC, great D, but lack playmakers on offense. Though Newton has way more upside than Smith and has the ability to be a playmaker on his own.

NFC West
SF 12-4
Sea 10-6
St-L 6-10
Ari 5-11

Looks like Seattle will run away with this division. While I am not ready to anoint them the team to beat you can't argue with 9-1 record. think they were fortunate in at least 3 games but they should have beaten the Colts as well, either way you make your own luck. The 49ers are still contenders but they need to get some playmakers back in Crabtree and Davis. Looks like I had these 2 flip flopped. The Rams have been competitive and their DLine is really beginning to dominate. The Cards have bee a pleasant surprise, they're defense is for real and while unspectacular, Palmer has given them stability at QB. They beat the teams they should and lose to the teams they should, so they're more of an 8-8 team.

No margin for error in this conference. Think several division will come down to the final day.

Brad, I just think it comes easy for us, it's a gift, it can't be taught.

I've already got my lock of the week, I'm just hoping the spread moves a little more in my teams' favor, it's already moved about 2 1/2 most places.

BTW, with 15 confidence points the max this week what does Manning's ankle do to the Den/KC game?
