Looks like marty is 3-5 ATS for games so far today and a loss in his "lock".

Ouch.

Brad, for my lock, I'm going to go with KC -7 1/2 (over Cleveland).

The site you listed (footballlocks.com) should be just fine.

Hmmmm, I got you right where I want you.

You've got nothin' Brad.

We have a 4 way tie, and I'll list the newcomers 1st as they didn't do picks the 1st few weeks.

1) DrViking 1
2) Ricky 1
3) Marty 1
4) Brad 1

Brad, I think we should come up with some sort of agreed upon tiebreaker, and also decide when we are going to end this, regular season, or all the way to the SB.

This is getting fun. So far, Brad and myself suck. But we are embracing the suck. We'll see if the newcomers have any stamina, and how long can they avoid the suck.

Make sure you get my "Adrian Peterson won't be traded lock" in there.

We are beyond bad. I had a chance to change last week and didn't. I heard this guy giving me a ton of reasons to take Cleveland and the points and opted to stay with Seattle.

You guys are way behind the coin flip....on your "locks"

I think you guys should go with the George costanza "do the opposite" theory

Agree entirely. I knew I wasn't worth a shit at this stuff from the beginning. Only Marty can make me look average.

I can't make you look average Brad, we make each other look HORRIBLE !

This is quite funny. I think we should have called it something other than 'locks' of the week.

This isn't really an easy thing, or we'd be quite wealthy if we could consistently pick locks and put money on them.

Brad, we need to pick up the slack. Ricky caught us in his 1st week of action. We'll see what kind of stamina the boy has. Brad, if you don't pick up things on your end, somebody is going to pick the opposite of you, like DrViking is doing with my picks, and they might end up passing DrViking !

----------------------------------------------------
As an aside, a long time ago, I had a co-worker that wanted to bet on some NFL games. He said he just wanted some action on the games to make them more exciting to watch. We started out just discussing games and point spreads, and I would just pick a game against him, betting on 1 game a week. I won the 1st 6 weeks, just figuring out what his favorite bet was, and taking the opposite. Then he won 1 week, and I won the next 2. After that, he figured out that I was just taking the opposite of his best pick, and he decided we should just end this, it just wasn't that fun for him anymore. I won 8 of 9 weeks, if you were doing the math.

Brad, I only caught brief parts of the Monday night football game. The parts I caught, it did seem like the officiating was favoring the underdog Rams. Do you think it was a possible 'sway' so the Rams cover, or so the Rams win ?

Seattle can't seem to stop the run, so the Packers should run all over them. SF seems like about the only team that can stop the Packers from once again winning the SB, with their storyline, winning it with backups and half the guys out with injuries.

I didn't realize there was a game tonight. I caught the score as I was looking at a sports website, it had Miami up 7-3. I would have picked Cincy to win that one.

I was going to consider using this source to help narrow down a lock, but I might have to go the opposite of this 'expert', as he went 4-8 last week:

http://www.bucsnation.com/2013/10/27/5033792/nfl-picks-against-the-spread-week-8-bet-on-the-jaguars-every-week

So, Ricky, you're going with Seattle - 15 1/2 ?

Actually, in your world, he should go at least 8-4 this week cuz of regression to the mean....

But since he is an expert his mean should be even better than 50-50, so really he will go 10-2 to bring his average over fifty percent

Thus he should be the lock of the week

Unless he subconsciously wants to tear his ACL...

You have a point DrViking, assuming he can regress to the mean in one week. But if it takes 6 or 7 weeks, that's a different story.

Last week, I missed the 1st Super Teaser by ONE game (got 13 out of 14), only missed on the Jets:

1) Det +7, NY Giants + 16 1/2, KC +3, NO - 2 1/2, NE + 6 1/2, NY Jets + 17, OAK + 11 1/2, Den -3, Ari + 7 1/2, MIN +16, Seattle pick, Was/Den O 43 1/2, Clev/KC U 50, Dal/Det O 41

Missed by 3 teams on the other one (got 11 of 14), Jets, PHI, and Wash:

2) Det +7, Dallas +13, NY Giants +16 1/2, PHI +3 1/2, Mia + 14 1/2, KC +3, NO - 2 1/2, NY Jets +17, SF - 3 1/2, Pittsburgh + 8 1/2, Wash + 23, GB +4, Seattle pick, Was/Den O 43 1/2

My lock of the week:

Baltimore -2 over Cleveland

I think Baltimore should win by a FG or more.
