I think the refs DID help GB in the 1st half, but could only help them so much. I'm quite happy to be wrong on that one. I may not even have liked GB against Detroit, but I'm going to keep picking the Packers as my lock until they cover a spread , or until they are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs

It's been quite successful for me to pick GB as the lock. They've either lost or tied every week since then, and have yet to cover a spread .

I think I was correct about both GB and Detroit being due for a win, but perhaps GB thought of the tie as sort of a win, while Detroit was coming off of 2 losses and was playing at home. Detroit should have been a good pick, but I'm going to keep picking the Packers until they cover a spread.

I was right about the defensive TD for GB, and I was right in picking Dallas to win but not to cover the spread, and so far the Ravens are ahead. I didn't see the entire Raider/Cowboy game, but the parts I did see, it seemed like the Raiders were getting all the calls. Maybe it was a 'sway' so the Raiders cover the spread ? I shouldn't really say that, as I missed too much of the game, and didn't tape it.

There are millions upon millions of people 'picking' games. You picking Green Bay doesn't make them lose. It just makes you really bad at picking football games.

Dallas is giving up 8 1/2 points, most places. I think that is too many, and would take the Raiders and the points, but that is NOT my lock of the week.

Dallas is a different team at home and the Raiders will not be able to keep up with them. I'd give 20 to the Raiders and wouldn't think twice about it.

I don't care how 'bad' it makes my picking, I'm picking GB as my lock of the week to cover the spread, until they cover the spread. I think it's effectively putting a hex on them, and I'm hoping they don't make the playoffs.

That's a cop out. You own these 'locks', no "I would have picked better but I was jinxing the Packers" allowed.

It's no cop out Prescott. Anyone that's been paying attention, knows I'm picking the Packers to hex their season. I've thought about putting my runner up to show I likely would have picked better, and might just do that. In the meantime, I don't really care if I lose out on the locks of the week contest with Brad and others, provided it means the Packers don't make the playoffs.

But I AM going to try to give it my all to win the locks competition. However, for now I'm picking the Packers to cover the spread, until they cover a spread. A part of me wants them to cover a spread, so I can go back to picking a lock out of the entire pool of selections, but another part of me is REALLY enjoying the Packers losing and not covering any spreads.

One has absolutely, positively nothing to do with the other. You will lose the contest, and the Packers will miss the playoffs. One has to do with you being bad at predicting football, the other has to do with Aaron Rodgers being out. And when he does come back and they win a few games, it will again have absolutely, positively nothing to do with you. You are not a super hero, you don't have magic powers. I promise.

Actually if anyone wants to sell their souls, the Packers are 66-1 to win the SB. I don't think the Lions are a lock to win the North.

As long as the Packers don't make the playoffs, I don't really care whether or not I win the locks of the week contest. My first priority is that the Packers don't make the playoffs. Should Rodgers come back and the Pack continues to not cover the spread, and probably lose, that'll be just great. I don't think I'm controlling anything, but I'm going to keep picking them, just in case it has some sort of influence. The Packers haven't won a game since I started picking them, and that is just awesome !

Brad, you picked Dallas to cover 7 1/2, and they didn't cover.

So we now have:

DrViking 5
Brad 2
Ricky 1
Marty 1

I did one Super Teaser, and was VERY close, only missed by 1, getting 13 out of 14. The Jets ruined it, getting beat handily at home by Miami, 23-3. I'm getting really close to hitting a 14 teamer. I'm now sticking with more home teams, just have to be more careful with inexperienced QBs. I just thought Miami was still feeling the effects of the soap opera, and the Jets have had a few good games at home. Should have went with Miami +13, they were due to win, and the Jets have been erratic, or the Under would have been the way to go on that game. I did manage to hit all five over/unders.

I'm taking GB as my lock of the week, no matter who starts at QB, no matter what the spread ends up being.

You would think with that kind of consistency, I could make it on a list somewhere

Easiest contest ever

You're doing very well DrViking, but there are a lot of weeks left until the SB.

My lock of the week: GB -3. Playing Thanksgiving is almost like getting a bye, the Packers are REALLY hungry for a win, and they are playing at home against an awful Atlanta team, a team with which the Packers match up well. Flynn is better than Tolzien, and I think Flynn will be well prepared for this game, and will play a good game. Matthews is now pretty much healthy, and I think their defense will play well. I think the Packers will have a good lead at halftime, the Falcons will come back in the 2nd half, but the Packers will still cover the 3.

Make sure you put your underwear on backwards while rubbing your tummy each morning at 6:46 exactly too. Just in case.

You came up with this 'fun contest', you love trying to tell people how easy it is to pick game, and then you suck balls when actually doing it, so you throw the contest picking a shit team with a shit QB.

They aren't losing because you picking them on a viking board. They're losing because they're a bad team with any competent gambler can see and would stay away from. You picked them, like you often do over the years, and they lost.
