I don't think anyone thinks Cassel is the answer

If you say so. You are very confident in what Speilman and Co. think.

I predict a lot of people on this board will have a Cassel boner all week...

Considering half this board had a three year boner for Ponder, based on nothing more than excuses and hope, it wouldn't surprise me.

Im pretty sure I didn't have a boner

I was no believer in Cassel but he's done more to win me over than Ponder has.

We were waiting for a guy to be able to take advantage of the defenses set up to stop AD. Cassel lit it up without him.

10-5 and got my lock, not a bad week. NICE job Prescott, picking the Bears, and moving into 2nd place only being in it a for a short time. Brad and Ricky missed opportunities for sole possession of 2nd.

So, now we have:

DrViking 6
Brad 2
Marty 2
Prescott 2
Ricky 1
Ian -2 (J/K Ian !)

WOW, only missed this teaser by ONE, getting 13 out of 14. The one miss was the Over/Under with Seattle/NY, picked the over but Seattle pitched a shutout.

1) Atl +6, SF +4, Ari/TEN O 31 1/2, Sea/NY GIANTS O 31 1/2, Chi + 12 1/2, INDY + 5 1/2, JAX + 13, MIA +13, MIN + 13 1/2, Car -2, KC + 6 1/2, GB/Dal O38, PITTS + 11, Bal + 15 1/2

And only missed the other by 2, getting 12 of 14, so close. Just missed as Giants + 16 1/2 wasn't enough, and KC Oak didn't stay under by a long shot. There were quite a few high scores this past weekend.

2) Atl +6, SF/TB O 32, NO/ST.LOU O 37, NY GIANTS + 16 1/2, Chi/CLEV O 33, HOU/INDY U 55 1/2, Buf/JAX O 34, NE/MIA O 35 1/2, Phi/MIN O 40 1/2, NY Jets/Car U 51, KC/OAK U 51, GB + 18, Cincy/PITTS O 31, Bal + 15 1/2

Not really

Cassel is not good enough to win a SB and not bad enough to lose enough games for us to get Bridgewater/Winston level of QB

football purgatory

gotta have some balls....

swing for the fence....

try everything else, and if you end up with cassell, i can live with that

but to go 'ponder' on it, and dont even bring in any competition for cassell....then these morons didnt learn anything

I will be ok with Cassell starting next year under one condition, they have a highly drafted rookied as his underling learning.  A Bridgewater, Bortles, Carr etc...  If they go into next year with Cassel and Ponder or Freeman or some other never will be or has been schlub, then this org is doomed to failure until the entire front office is cleaned out of everyone not nambed Brzezinski.

It will be very hard financially for the Vikings to not keep Ponder as a back up QB. Ponder is going to cost the Vikings $3,232,313 dollars against the cap, whether he is on the roster or not.

There is no justification for keeping Ponder on the roster.  If he can't play the game, he needs to go.

Keeping him for something like a cap hit would be mind-numbingly stupid.

BINGO

It would be waste of everyone's time to think Cassel is a legit starter and the answer at QB

Just as bad would be bringing Ponder back here

If EITHER of those two occur, then you know management is not serious about putting a winner on the field

Me and Ricky are thinking...

WCWTSBWC! (we can win the super bowl with Matt Cassel)

WCHWTSBTYICS (we could have won the super bowl this year if Cassel started)

Confirms what many believe...that what you think is often nonsensical jibberish.

This you being funny? Or just a dick?

Pretty easy to decode...not that knowing what it says makes it less gibberish-y.

Anyway, GFY...can you decode that?

I wouldn't say hard, but I agree that it's a distinct possibility he remains on the roster.

Tarkenton suggested we go DE and then grab Murray in the 2nd

I think we should keep Cassell and draft two QB's. One high (Carr) and take a Murray or someone else in the third. Thats alot of resources but we cannot afford to fail again

I think we might be able to trade Ponder for maybe a 6th rd pick. I would easily take that just to get him not only out of here but not having to take a cap hit

I agree with JC on this.

The question is, will there be a starter available that is definitely a better option than Cassel ?

A similar option like Matt Flynn ? Kirk Cousins ? ????
