How do they not review that forward motion at the end of the game? His arm was going forward!

I see on ESPN they just mentioned that they did  review that final play and it was a fumble.

Then it was the fastest review in the history of the NFL.

Biggest mistake was the last drive when Cromartie left Holmes to move up to cover Mewelde and leaving Holmes alone to take the ball inside the 5. You have to let Moore catch the short pass then tackle him

I thought Warner played very well. That TD pass to Fitz was because he hit him perfectly in stride down the middle of the field. I agree the OL was being dominated by the Steelers and Lebeau's pressure packages.

Warner played well in spurts only.  He really only played well for about 2 quarters.

Many times he left his WR out to dry with high throws to the outside.  In addition, it took them 3 quarters to realize to put Fitz in the slot to get open.

But the biggest blunder of all time was not throwing a single fade to Fitz at the end of the first half.  Go in 14-10 and getting the ball to start the 3rd and it is a different game.  That pick was a terrible pass by Warner.  Even if it is not picked it was way late and behind Boldin.

Cromartie is so overrated.  The announcers go on and on about his speed but he is just an average CB because of all the mistakes he makes out there.  The first big "play" that he made was nothing more than an underthrown ball by Ben or it is an easy 6.

Great game.
Disappointing commercials. The E-Trade babies are still the best.
Old man Bruce gave it a good effort at half-time.
I'm still not convinced Pittsburgh is the better team.
Some awful officiating, they have become over-reliant on getting bailed out by video.
Disgusted by Pittsburghs total lack of respect for their opponent.
Honestly didn't see or hear one interview of a Steeler who gave Arizona any props at all.
Thats odd, in that game. Not a big deal, just seemed odd to hear none of the usual respect given out.
Pretty damn unfair for 3 franchises to have 16 of the titles, and we sit with none.
Karma, luck, stupidity, fate? I'm tired of always watching someone elses dreams come true.

In the last 8 years the NFC has sent 8 different teams to the Super Bowl.  The Vikes haven't been since after the '76 season.  That has me feeling

It was fun to have an entertaining Super Bowl.

Horrible pass to end the 1st half by Warner, but the dude who dove at Harrison's legs? Just PUSH HIM OUT OF BOUNDS. Great hustle by Fitz, but came up 1 second short.

Nice comeback by the Cards.

Horrible defense on the final Pittsburgh drive, but Ben looked like he's regained some of his mobility, he must've made 3 or 4 broken pocket, scrambling big plays.

Happy for Tomlin, but was rooting for the Cards - would've been a hell of a story.

Tomlin gave the Cardinals props, I thought Ben did too, along with Ward.

Cool, Tim.
I must've missed those.
Like I said, not that it matters, people only remember the winners.
But man, the Cards didn't play the last month like they didn't belong.

I think Fitz' play on the INT return was illegal anyway.  He purposely ran out of bounds and made no effort to get back in bounds quickly.

I know everyone is saying the pass by Warner was bad, and it was, but the golden boy OC outcoached himself on that one.  You have Fitz - throw it up!

I'll still take Warner over just about all but 3 or 4 QB's in the NFL. He's getting old now but I hope he stays on another couple years. Class individual and outstanding QB. HOF

I think one of either TJACK or SAGE will go on a run and be GREAT next year, the offense will be clicking on all cylinders, the team will rattle off at least 5 wins in a row, several of them being LOPSIDED WINS, leading to the team being in the playoffs.  At times they will look like the BEST team in the NFC.

Towards the end of the season, Peterson will get hurt and will be out for the playoffs.

The team will rally around this in the playoffs, like the Redskins did with the death of their safety last year.  The Vikes will win at least one playoff game, possibly make the SB, but will NOT win it.  The Vikings will have the HEART, but will be missing the TALENT (Peterson) to win it all, the talent that had them exploding during the regular season.

Viking fans will be wondering 'what could have been', had the team had Peterson for the playoff run, and 'what will happen next year' when the Vikes get Peterson back.  Will he be as good, will the team be as good, will they go FARTHER in the playoffs with Peterson back ?

Weird to predict that Peterson will go out with a season ending injury. I don't know how to even respond to that.

I'm not implying that you're hoping for that, but to even predict it seems bad karma.

Chester Taylor fills in for AP in the Super Bowl but gets hurt early.  Percy Harvin fills in at tailback and rushes for 135Yds and 2TDs.  Vikes win the SB and carry Chili off on their shoulders.

I correctly predicted the SCORE of the Vikings' playoff loss to Atlanta in '98, even predicting Anderson missing the FG in regulation (except I had the VIKINGS winning in OT).

Here is why I predicted the Peterson injury (it's similar logic that made the Anderson miss in the clutch after a perfect regular season somewhat predictable):

Besides the fact that he was a little injury prone in college, Peterson is concerned about injury and has put on weight to absorb more pounding.  It is logical that he will continue to take a pounding because he gets a lot of carries, his style of play.  IF he is just a LITTLE bit slower, that could lead to more unexpected hits, more hits, and increases the possibility of injury.  That's the logic part.

I also have a little bit of a far out theory, (more right brain, not the logical left brain) that some players "allow" themselves to be hurt for various reasons.  I'm not sure 'why?', just like I'm not sure 'why' refs might 'sway' a game, but I think the possibility exists for both.

My theory is that either the player either "allows" themselves to get hurt because they have: 1) given up on their teams' season, 2) want to be recognized, want to be missed, 3) would rather be taking it easy 4) want others to realize their importance to the team 5) maybe they feel like they have to do too much, that others on the team aren't trying as hard as they could.

Could it be that Tom Brady didn't feel he got enough credit for 16-0 in 2007, but people were just remembering the SB loss ?  Could it be that EJ thought the season was done with the poor QB play, and that the team was going nowhere ?  Could it be that Pat Williams wanted #2 and #4 ?  Maybe Brett Favre wanted those same things, or an excuse for poor play down the road ?  Maybe Aaron Rodgers wanted some of those things when he had his midseason injury, and wanted to show his toughness playing through injury ? Did you notice all the injuries to Packers once it appeared their season was done last year ?  Javon Walker hurt in his 1st game back after a contract holdout with the Packers ?

I could go on and on, and list players from every team the last few years (I list Packers only because I'm sort of forced to follow them closer, I did NOT watch them that closely when I lived in Minnesota).   I think Peterson MIGHT sense #2 and #4 next year, should the offense be clicking but people are forgetting that AD is still the biggest reason behind the success, some thinking that it might be just as good with Taylor.  Well, let's see if that is true.

HOW does it happen ?  The players' subconscious mind usually (NOT always!) has split seconds to decide how to react to being hit, whether to allow it to happen or not.  I think Brett Favre REALLY craved the attention and adoration for being an iron man, and when he sensed a hit coming, would usually allow the hit to take place, not offering resistence, and usually came out unscathed like many drunk drivers in auto accidents, he would just let it flow, let his body sort of relax.  Favre is probably the best EVER at that.

WHY did I persue this theory ?  I'm trying to get good at correctly predicting players' injuries to pick fantasy players that will be injury free for that season.  My team was pretty healthy last year, I might have won the championship had I not dropped Big Ben and picked up Tyler Thigpen, but then ultimately starting Favre against a soft defense, coming up short.

Seeing your new avatar, it reminded me of a thought I had. I watched Vikings weekly last night and saw him in his new White Suit and thought he looked bigger in it then he did in his uniform. Usually it is the other way around with all the padding

Predictions on Favre (bookmark it):

1) #4 Brett Favre will sign on July 4th, BANG !!! - IF he loves media attention as much as some say.

2) In August, Favre will declare that he honestly can't remember how long it's been since his throwing arm has felt this good, "I bet it's been AT LEAST 5 years".

3) Favre will then declare Harvin as the "quickest player I've EVER worked with.  I don't mean to diss Greg Jennings or (Sterling) Sharpe, or (Robert) Brooks, but this guy (Harvin) is simply AMAZING !"

4) Favre will talk about Peterson after a lopsided win where Peterson gets 267 yards, "My arm actually got sore from handing it off to him so many times.   I think he (Peterson) is possibly the BEST back to have EVER played the game."

5) After losing to the Packers in Lambau, Favre will take credit for the loss and how lousy he played.  "I just never got settled down the whole game.  I went away from all the things that had been working for us, then when things got out of hand, just tried to make something happen at the end.  I just need to play within in the system and trust the guys around me."

6) After completing a game winning TD pass to Shiancoe, Favre will declare Shiancoe is "ballsyer than Chmura".

7) The Vikes will beat the Cardinals in the playoffs, Favre will say, "I was the better SENIOR today"

8) The Vikes will be matched up with the Patriots in the Super Bowl in Miami.

9) After the Vikes LOSE to the Patriots in the Super Bowl, Moss being a key component, Favre will say, "man, you guys should never have let him go."  - same thing the Packer fans will be thinking about FAVRE - BEFORE the Super Bowl.

my guess for first play of the season

play action to AP, BF rolls out and dumps it to Jimmy K on a drag route for a gain of 7

and so begins the kick ass

No doubt.  I would have told Palin to shove it.  And that's not even a political move I'm saying.  I would have told anyone if I were him, D or R, to shove it.  It was just a joke.  Of all people, Letterman doesn't need to apologize to anyone.   And I'm not even a Letterman fan.
