That's cool. Thanks for the insight.

I would think their run game would be quite good with Hatfield Vick and LeSean McCoy . The OL seemed to look serviceable once Vick was playing. The DL looks strong against the pass, especially Cole. But you're right, they have plenty of weaknesses.

I have no doubt they are looking hard at what vets are available...as the Vikes and Saints can sign any of them right now and no other team can until they've played their games.

I'd really be surprised if that is the case.

It was the case that the NFL rules are set that once a team had played its game then they could sign any FAs and not have to wait for the rest of the teams to play after week one.  The point is moot now, since we signed no one.

I just wanted to give a special shout out to the geek for correctly writing "no one" as two words!

And whatever happened to bringing Javon Walker back in? We could have done that right away!

Lynn,

Agree on the Walker thing....Could really use another receiver/punt returner on this team.....What are we waiting for? No one, myself included thought we'd wait this long to sign him back....What is that dope Chilli doing?????

Is it possible that Walker is just not good enough? Hell, it's not like other teams are interested either.

Walker has returned a total of 1 punt in his entire NFL career. Even Chilli wouldn't be considering him as a PR.

Which only shows you how far from being ready to handle a full game or season he really was. If they thought he could contribute and make a difference on this team, you can bet he'd be here.

For as much as people think the guys running this team are morons, they have assembled a pretty solid group and they will be adding someone who will make a difference soon. Just not Walker, he is nothing more then the guys we currently have.

I would venture to say that we will not see too many 4 receiver sets from the Vikings, nor do we need any of that to beat the Fish. BB was a huge disappointment in that first game, I will give him a couple more games to get his shit together before I write him off completely. Camarillo needs to play the other wide out spot so Harvin can do what he does best, wreak havoc over the middle behind the zone. Harvin is not a polished route runner and should not be counted on as such. Camarillo is, BB should be so let them do that. We need to run the ball with gusto and high frequency, play action off of that, and beat people up with our size, nuff said!

Oh, hi Lynn
My Mom just moved back to the Mankato area after being out of the state for the last fifty years, she has gone home and I'm very happy for her! So now, along with my mother, I have a sister and a brother living there too

I agree - they didn't bring Javon Walker back because he probably doesn't still have what it takes to be that guy. At least they took a look at him to do their due diligence.

Hi back at ya! I'm happy for your mom, who probably loves the fact that she's back close to family. There's just something special about moving back "home" again, no matter how far away your life takes you. I'll bet she'll be at training camp next fall. She can do scouting reports for the board. :o)

I wish to be on record to say that although Favre has played two poor games so far, I firmly believe he pulls it together from here on out. I further predict the Vikes make the playoffs and advance to the Super Bowl. I predict even further yet that in said Superbowl, the Vikes will lose in one of the most memorable/embarrassing/unbelieveable/screwed-by-refs fashions ever experienced in the history of sports going back to the beginning of the Olympics.

I think what would make David's prediction plausible, would be for many bettors to think that the league wanted Favre to go out Elway style with a ring, therefore you might have HEAVY betting on the Vikes. Then the forces that be, would 'help' the AFC team gain victory in the SB.

That's the kind of consistency that Chilly is looking for in a PR.

The Vikes will lose the Super Bowl in overtime when they kick an overtime field goal only to have the other team return the following kick off for a TD.

My Super Bowl nightmare ...
The Vikings lose at the end of regulation as Chilly calls a timeout just before the other team MISSES an attempt at the game-winning FG only to make it on the second attempt.

My SB nightmare....

We are down by 2 with 1 minute to go.  Other team has 3 TO's.  We have the ball at their 30 with a 4th and 1 centemeter.  KA punts, God lets our a mighty laugh that sends the earth off it's axis hurling us towards our impending death as we jettison towards the sun.

Very possilbe BTW.

There is NO WAY we would punt with no time outs left ... oh, wait... Chilly did that once already.

I'm not going to worry about a SB nightmare until we get there.  Then I will have nightmares for years to come.

Looks like a 6-10 season would be much better for a good night's rest.

Not really.  Too much talent here for that to happen.  But if we got the the SB, my cynism makes me believe that the Vikes will find some unique ****ed up way to blow it...and that, like taking a knee with the most prolific offense to date, or 41-0 bitchslapping will stick in my craw for ages.
