This isn't really legal anymore, tackles on QBs like these draw flags now. They will be watching closely, the refs are mandated to protect the QB.

I don't expect RGIII to run much, if he's smart.

I hope we can beat them with their QB healthy and not concussed all game. That would be a clean win and if this team can beat a good team like Washington, at full strength. Would bode very well for the future. Let's face it, if they can win this game, the playoffs are not just wishful thinking. They become a goal that is right there to bust through.

Washington currently has an 8 game home losing streak... with the Vikes being one of the teams contributing to it.
It'd be sweet to double up ... but streaks are made to be broken.

When a QB leaves the pocket and begins running he's treated like any other RB, with the exception of the slide rule.

As with any QB, you need to get pressure early and often. Rookie QBs are a lot easier to confuse than veterans. If the opportunity arises, hit RG3 and hit him hard. I never call for a dirty hit, but if the opportunity is there you take it. That's football.

This is one of the reasons running QBs don't have lengthy careers in the NFL. They either learn to limit their rushes or they get injured. They get no special protection once they become a running back. Ask Culpepper how that worked out.

Heard last night that the Yankees have won 92 consecutive playoff games when leading in the 8th.
So maybe Washington's home losing streak can go a little longer.
Everson Griffen has the game of his life against RGIII and the team dedicates the win to EG's mom.

Washington has an aggressive pass defense which goes for the turnovers, but gives up the big plays. I read where the Redskins have not faced a team that is committed to the run like the Vikings.

The key, to me is that the Vikings need to avoid turning the ball over on the road and on defense, they need to contain RGIII's running.

I'm not sure if it matters that the Redskins haven't faced a run game like the Vikes, it's always hard to run on the road. A couple holding calls and the run game can get pretty much completely down on the road.

And aggressive pass defense could spell trouble for Ponder on the road, they've yet to really see that, they've faced 2 weak pass defenses on the road so far, but I'm not sure if the 'Skins defense is much either. I want to pick the Vikes because I like Ponder's experience in a close game over the inexperienced rookie, but I think this could be a game where the turnovers favor the opposition.

Unless the Vikes get a defensive TD, I think the 'Skins will win this one:

I think we take this one pretty easily. 27-13. Vikes

Their secondary is just awful. It makes sense, though. Much of their secondary is our purge from the offseason (Cedric Griffin, Madieu Williams).

I think either the Packers will win, or Aaron Rodgers will get hurt tonight. Unfortunately, my gut says the Pack will win.

Unfortunately, I was pretty accurate this week.

But winning and going 3-4 after beating what is touted by most as the best team in the NFL right now, and the Packers are right in the thick of things, the schedule being softer the rest of the way, and feeling like they can beat ANY team.

Pretty close, I just thought the Texans would put up more of a fight. The Packers were the team with something to prove. Good playcalling by McCarthy, and good play by Rodgers, Nelson and Jones. I wonder if Rodgers will last the season, he's taking a beating this year.

Those 2 predictions were pretty close, and the Vikes are running pretty close to my before season predictions, I was only wrong on the 49er game so far. I had them going 7-9, they'll finish 8-8 if I'm right the rest of the way.

I realize I lose some credibility as I made a switch last week to the Titans, I shouldn't have done that. My before season prediction had the Vikes winning that one, and I thought they might even win that game fairly easily. I just thought I'd take a stab at changing the pick the week of the game, and picking against the Vikes because that seemed to work so well the 1st season Favre was in Minnesota. I don't think I'll do that anymore, that's just being overly superstitious. I'll just try to stick with who I really think will win.

This is a crucial game.

If Cundiff was playing it might have been the difference. Forbath's 50 yarder was a turning point in the game. It was Washington's first points of the game and it could have still kept the score 9-0 and we would have had good field position. Perhaps we go for the jugular there and force the Skins out of their gameplan.

Arizona goes up 24-0 midway through the 2nd quarter, Vikes get 2 FGs by halftime. Vikes get another FG, then a defensive TD, then a Harvin TD where they go for the 2 point conversion and miss. Then Walsh hits the game winner, Vikes win 26-24. Arizona has a chance to win it at the end, but they miss a 48 yarder with time running out.

Blair Walsh breaks the NFL record for longest FG, with his 2nd FG of the day, a SIXTY FIVE yard FG.

Nice job Mark ! You were closer than what I had.

I was proud I predicted a defensive TD, it happened, and that is NOT something that happens very often with the Vikings.

I was all wrong about the FGs, and I meant to put 25, not 26. Good catch big-O. I wasn't thinking about 'sway' much, though I would have expected they'd favor the Cards with a 3rd string QB, playing on the road at Minnesota, where the Vikes are undefeated. Haven't seen the game yet, did the officials favor the Cards, was it about even, or did they help the Vikes in regards to calls and non-calls ?

I don't know why anyone would think of TB as a gimme when their QB is producing points, and the Vikes are struggling at QB.

With the exception of the 49er game, totally on track with my before season prediction:

I think coming up short on a divisional home game takes a bit out of the players.

I could be wrong, but I think Thursday night games favor the home team. They get one more day of practice. Normally, I would give this one to the Bucs, as they tend to have our number. I'm also expecting a close game, with home field advantage being the difference.

Not to nitpick, marty, but you don't understand the OT rules. If you win in OT it can only be by these margins. 2,3 & 6. There is no PAT in overtime. There is if you score a TD at the end of regulation, but not in OT. The TD ends the game.

I don't think it will be a high scoring game, coming off 4 days rest. 23-16 Minnesota.
