Good news, the Vikes started out as 2 point underdogs and are now 3 point dogs to the Bears, IOW, the betting has been on Da BEARS !

I hope it STAYS at 3, and the VIKES might benefit from a 'sway', leading to a WIN.

IF it moves to 4, they only might do enough to make Chicago winning by a FG the most likely scenario. IOW, help the Vikes just enough so they lose by a FG.

If it goes back down to 2, I think the Vikes are REALLY in trouble.

The line stayed at 3, it's a good chance we either see neutral officiating, or officiating that FAVORS the Vikes. It's unlikely we'll see officiating that favors the Bears.

I really like the Vikes chances in this one, and expect Ponder will have a good game. I think he'll hook up with Simpson for 1 TD, he'll run one in like he did against Frisco, and Peterson will continue to run well. Peterson could well take over this game, take the team on his back in the 4th quarter and win this game. Forte and Jeffrey will have TDs for the Bears, along with a defensive TD.

I think the Vikes are going to make the mistake of leaving too much time on the clock for the Bears. The Bears are going to get the ball, trailing by 3 with about 38 seconds on the clock. The Vikes will have kept Marshall quiet most of the game, but he'll make a couple of key catches on the Bears last drive to set up a game winning FG. IF it goes to OT, I think Marshall will break a game winning TD. (30-24 Bears, if the game goes into OT)

Bears 27
Vikes 24

So, now they're kicking extra points in OT?

Good catch JT2, it's been edited.

I SOOOOOOOOOOOO want to pick the Vikes in this one, just can't do it and go against my predicitons for the season (which have only been wrong about ONE game, SF). Maybe I'll change my mind in the morning, and switch to the Vikes before gametime.

This one has such a smell of a Vikings' win. The Vikings really need the game, can NOT afford another loss, while the Bears CAN afford another loss. Ponder getting engaged is a positive thing, no injuries in the last game, Peterson is running like crazy, the game is at home, it's been a month since they've won at home against Detroit, etc ....

But I just get the feeling Lovie will keep his team in it, and will 'get lucky' at the end.

Eric

That is REALLY unfortunate. I was hoping to see a minimum of 20 predictions before each game, see if someone can nail the score, or predict an unusual occurance, or both.

Still hoping for some more predictions for this week.

Going into the 2nd Bears game and with 4 games to go, my prediction is that the Vikings are about to win the NFC North.

i think that not only will we beat the Bears and Packers, but so will the Lions, who have nothing to lose and would take a lot of pride from mauling a couple of already beaten up rivals.

GB/Chi play each other again, so one of them already has that loss on their record.

People see the Vikings trending down, but I don't think so. In the 2nd Lions game Ponder and the receivers finally got on the same page. Then we had the worst timed bye week in history.

In Chicago, CP7 played about the same as the Detroit game (throwing into tight windows like everybody was begging for) and the receivers kept dropping passes in big situations. Otherwise, we could have won that game, and we're talking the Bears...in Chicago.

Against GB, Ponder threw one painful pick, and one unforgivable one. But his real sin was throwing away the wrong game at the wrong time against the wrong opponent. Apart from that he had maybe 3 bad passes and a bunch that got batted away because the WR's couldn't get enough separation to prevent the DB'S from making a play.

We just need the thrower, the catchers, and the blockers to all play well at the same time today, and they'll all have a new outlook going forward. AP will do what he does, and the defense will feed off of offensive success. Maybe even get some sacks against what are supposed to be OL's in a shambles.

Both Houston and St. Louis are away games, and both could be tough...but I think we'll beat the Bears bad enough today to send us on a run...right into the playoffs.

Sorry, I can't see Ponder going on the road and beating either St. Louis nor Houston. St. Louis now has a good coach, and I can't see Ponder leading the team to a road victory against a team with a good HC, but there is a very slim chance if AD keeps running lights out.

The ONLY way the Vikes beat the Texans, are if the Texans are pulling starters.

GB is beatable in Minnesota.

I hope more people post predictions for the game, maybe somebody can nail the score ?

Before the season, I had the Vikes beating the Rams in this game, but that was if they were coming off of 3 disappointing losses after the bye, starving for a win.

The Vikes got a win at home last week, and I think they'll continue to lose most games on the road, as long as Ponder is QBing. I think they probably lose this game, even if Webb comes off the bench.

I think it's going to be an ugly, boring, low scoring game.

St. Louis 19
Minnesota 10

Rams 34

Vikes 24

AP gets 120-140 yards

Jackson makes Henderson/Brinkley/Greenway and the DL look like highschoolers  100+ yards

Ponder looks like Ponder.  Average "ponder game" - 120 yards 1 TD 1 INT.

Sam looks good against our pass rush.  250+ yards and a couple of TD's.

We just cant win on the road folks.

Happily underestimated AP.

Wrong about the DL, right about the LB's

Almost right on with Ponder sans the INT (almost nailed that one).

Half right about Sam.

WRONG about the road, thank the stars!

My opinion on awards:

They should change the title from MVP to "Player of the year", just for clarity's sake. MVP lets two people voting on the same thing have wildly different criteria/definitions. You'll always have it, but this puts it on a clearer level.

They should have two awards. Best Quarterback, and player of the year. Like baseball with the Cy Young, QBs are in a class by themselves.

Of course, that has led to absurd outcomes like Pudge Rodriguez getting the MVP over Pedro Martinez, despite the fact that Martinez put up one of the top ten pitching seasons since the dead-ball era. Which is even more ridiculous when you consider that Pedro was pitching in the Juiced Batter era, and absolutely dominated despite staying clean himself. ****ing George King and LaVelle E. Neal.

Wait, what were we talking about?

Would QB be eligible for Player of the Year?

If the Vikings don't make the playoffs, I would vote Manning as MVP.

I would vote Adrian Peterson "Player of the Year" over Manning regardless of the playoff picture.

But it would be par for the course with the voters.

QBs will always have an edge in the MVP voting.  Especially ones named Peyton Manning.

I think Peyton WILL get it

I would not call it a travesty

31/10 is nothing to sneeze at

Clearly Peterson is more valuable

The Vikings have no offense but him with Harvin out

The Broncos were a playoff team last year with sorry Tebow at QB

You could make a case that LUCK has been more valuable to his team!
