I think it's actually a porcupine. I have the same picture stored as "Porc".

Oh shoot - maybe I mislabeled it. Either way it's as cute as the dickens.

If they'd harness me in, I'd take a shot at walking across the falls.

Too bad "family friendly" networks are involved. If Wallenda doesn't want to be harnessed in, he shouldn't have to be. Esp, if it makes the walk it harder. It'd be a WAY better show.

Maybe he'll shed it part way for "safety" reasons. Says he will respect ABC and their affiliates otherwise.

Just imagine the cool things that could have been accomplished if the Wallenda family had taken all of that courage, ingenuity, energy and sense of fun and dedicated it to some social issue.

Ricky, you making any money on a Tiger Woods bet today?

They can keep dreaming he could do, what he couldn't do when he was hot, and that is come from behind all they want, he just doesn't have it. Still think he's going to win a couple more majors to keep things interesting but he's not going to find his game all of a sudden and come from behind to win the US open.

The US open has so little scoring I feel like I am watching soccer!

Westwood or Furyk winning would be cool but nothing would be cooler than seeing that kid, Hossler steal it.

I gave 2:1 odds at the beginning of the 3rd round. Cashing in again ...

Here's a good one:

You have a one in a million bunker shot to sink to tie at the US open and head to a playoff

or

You concede the loss and play for par and (hope to) scoop an extra couple hundred thousand

Um in all liklihood, if you are close enough to tie, you are already in big money for the tournemant.  You always go for the championship.

Sure he was in big money. He finished tied for 4th pocketing 276K - the two guys who tied for 2nd got 695K.

There was virtually no chance he'd make the bunker shot. Maybe an even chance he could save par...

Diners 4

X X

X X

The people on the inside are having salads the ones on the outside aren't. When the diners on the inside are done their salads they don't just pass off their plates to the inside dinners when they're done and prior to having the waitress clear, right?

Like, oh, I don't want to look at my empty/mostly empty dishes, but I'm sure YOU don't mind.

I got shit for both shuffling the plates in front of me to an empty table (by the waitress) and for making a fuss over it in the first place (from the in-laws)

Dinner etiquette where I am from is you can fart at the table but not shart. That's a no-no.

If the waitress left dirty plates in front of diners for so long that it became an issue, then she doesn't deserve it. A good waitress clears in 5 minutes or less. At that point go ahead and transfer the mess to other tables where everyone can see dirty plates. But that's typically only done to make a point that the waitress is being lazy or not attentive.

Not to be an ass but who really cares? Are we that important (not you Todd, this isn't a direct question/example) that we need this kind of pampering?

When i'm out to dinner with friends/family the last thing i'm thinking is "man, this dirty plate is pissing me off". I'm there to have fun. Life is stressful enough, who needs to live like that?

I have family and friends that are that anal about the supposed old English customs of dining out ect.....They normally ruin it for the rest of us some how. The conversation going home is never "what a great time". It's almost always "can you believe that bitch x/y/z, what was that about".

It's more about should the waitress and other diners have given a hard time about it. If someone cares, then the answer is that you should wait a normal amount of time to allow the waitress to clear plates from your own table. Like you say, kick back and enjoy the company, and a good waitress will come by and clear them quickly.

If she sucks, though, after a while the dirty plates become an annoyance, and at that point, I'm all for dirtying up otherwise clean tables and creating an eyesore.

I'm glad to say that with regards to my family, no one has acquired this disturbing problem, which is fortunate, because you can't pick your family. I don't run into this problem with my friends either, because my friends I can pick. Of course that requires an inexplicable choice on their part also, but that's a different story.
