Interesting article about fighting in hockey, and since it was written by a local Strib guy, the references are local (Derek Boogaard and Henry Boucha). Even a Chris Stewart reference from just last month. I kind of miss that goofy guy.

Whew. The Hawks dodged a bullet tonight. But, a win is a win.

Hawks have won four of the last six. Some of the young kids are starting to get used to playing together, I think.

Well, that sucks.

Good for you Joe.
As usual, your team will figure it out long before ours will.

It was a fun game to watch.....Blackhawks against Vegas. Goalies were outstanding for 2 periods......had to miss the 3rd.

Fun to watch two teams play hard, skate hard and fast, and pass the puck on target to teammates.

Wonder if the Wild will ever do that.

Haha! Well, we're still both fighting for space in the root cellar of the Central Division. I still think the Wild is going to make some noise this year.

The noise where an old man falls down the stairs and breaks things?
Yep, I agree.

Yeah, it was a late one for me. Vegas plays really fast and smart. It was a good game to watch.

That made me laugh, SoMn! Have faith, my friend. Now, I'm thinking about hockey guys falling down stairs!

Big test tonight. The Lightning are up, and they are the kind of team that play well off the Hawk's weaknesses. Should be an interesting game.

Geez. The Hawks can't even do the basic defensive stuff correctly. It's hard to watch sometimes.

Big win for you last night tho!
Your team has also picked itself up from the dead.

I hope it continues! They tried to give the game away against boston, but Toews didn't let it happen. And, Lehner should be starting over Crow, in my opinion.

Stars fire their coach Jim Montgomery today
Conduct policy violation.

Wow. Gambling, maybe? The team said it didn't involve any illegality or players, so it can only be fooling around with the wrong person or gambling.

Same thought Joe
Has to be some time of affair with an employee
or some moral transgression

Interesting how we've all left the 500 pound gorilla alone
One good thing about hockey being disrespected as a major sport … this recent coaching scandal drama would be front page news if it was the NBA or NFL
We should all be writing pages of comments about it in here
But …… crickets.

Find it very interesting. The old school culture is being torn down by the new generation of player.

Weird how the Wild and Hawks seasons are mirroring each other
Started horribly
Righted the ship
Right down to dropping 6-goal home losses this week.

Curious to read what you guys think of the JR situation. I've been record stating how much I've hated him over the years but I have to admit. Even in these times his comments didn't seem that bad. From what I can gather even she laughed about it and took it as non-offensive. I could be wrong about that but that's my take...so far (maybe more to come?).

I saw a blurb about JR, but didn't bother reading it. I just thought, he's a jerk good for him.

Nope, she was offended. I think his comments were bad. Suspension is certainly warranted.

Tappen released a brief statement via NBC Sports PR on Tuesday regarding the things Roenick talked about.

“While Jeremy and I continue to be good friends, what he said was unacceptable, especially among workplace colleagues,” she said via NBC Sports PR, according to John Ourand of Sports Business Journal. “I do not condone his comments.”

Seabrook and DeHaan out for the season. Both with shoulder injuries, but Seabrook also needs surgery on BOTH of his hips. Can they also fix his skate backwards bone when they are in there? Because that is his biggest problem. Saad out three weeks. The young guys have an opportunity to show they can play long term. A long season keeps getting longer...

The Roenick comments were really really gray, imo
I don't think he meant harm, they were just careless
He always tries to be funny and weird
The Spittin Chicklets guys are always trying to get people to dish stuff they don't want to
Imo, he was just trying to be cool, which is always his gig. Crossed a line.
like Jeff said, if she was offended, then its ok they did something.
But they weren't disturbing lifelong reflections imo. just off-the-cuff smartass stuff.
