If you care about the Preds at all, you'll understand what we mean when you're done with them.
Looking back, jeff is right ... it all came from that playoff series with Cooke and bertuzzi and Cloutier, all pricks who thought the game owed them something.
And it came from up top, I remember them committing a dozen heinous acts, and we were supposed to take it. The Wild got tough, and Burke acted like the entire world was against them.
He was extremely disrespectful to us, everyone was that year, thats why that was such a magical run, to have those two teams (Avs and Nucks) look down on us, then to come back and oust them both after trailing 3-1 in each series. Doubt a team will ever pull that off again. Magical run. (that we let fizzle and be our only redeeming quality almost ten years later)

I hear ya, man. Just giving you guys a hard time. 'Preciate the insight. I really do want to get into the game more; the timing just sucks. This time of year I'm too consumed with NBA playoffs and baseball.

Great, great night again.
One good result, one bad one, but both great games.
Topped off the greatest first rd I can remember.
Great crowds, great performances from young players and old vets alike.
Love seeing Dwayne Roloson still going strong. Great dude.

Greatest tourney in sports starts tonight.

Caps vs Rangers ....... Dogfight. Closer than it appears on paper. Caps in 6
Flyers vs Sabres ........ Another tight one. Flyers are built for playoffs, wish it wasn't so, but , Flyers in 6
Bruins vs Canadiens ... Bloodbath potential. Mismatch on ice tho. Unfortunately, Bruins in 5
Lightning vs Pens ....... Respect what Pens have done. Great coaching. This is a loaded 'Ning team tho. Lightning in 6

Canucks vs Blackhawks ..... Pisses me off we got Chitown in, I despise both these teams, wish both could lose. 'Nucks are loaded. Vancouver in 6
Sharks vs Kings ................ Gonna keep picking Sharks until it happens. Kings will be great soon, not now. Sharks in 6
Red Wings vs Coyotes ....... Always interesting. 'Yotes are dangerous and could stretch this thing out. But Detroit is soooo good. RedWings in 6
Ducks vs Preds ................. Tough one to call imo. Ducks aren't that impressive, Preds have never won a series. Upset special. Preds in 7

8 fer 8 move on.
Tougher second rd to predict.

'Nucks and Preds ........  Excited for this one. No result would surprise me. Hoping for a Pred sweep, but in reality, gotta go with Vancouver in 6
Wings and Sharks .......  Makings of a classic, but usually turns out to be a dud. Both loaded with talent and experience. Slight edge in everything goes to Red Wings imo.
Detroit in 6

Caps and Lightning ...... Offensive capabilities galore, but both have bought into playing tough-minded D all over the ice. This could really be a wonderful series. Star power all over the ice. Can't wait for this one.
Lightning in 7 (upset special)
Bruins and Philthy ........ A real bare-knuckler. Backyard brawl. Has the potential to be wonderful or ugly. Flat-out toss-up, but if anyone can grind with the Phlyers, it's the Bruins.
Phlyers in 6

I agree with the Nucks but I say 5

Wings/Sharks.  This one is hard to predict.  At some point Detroit has to get old and the Sharks have to meltdown.  Could go either way.

Caps/Lightning.  Spent over 10 years in Washington.  This is a much bigger rival than people realize.  This will be a hell of a series.

Bruins/Philthy.  Totally disagree with your assesment.  What WILL happen is that the arena will collapse on both teams.  The league, in it's embarressment, will never allow a franchise to either city again.  Unrest in the Middle East will stop.  Poverty and hunger in Africa will cease to exist and the waters in and around Japan will be nuclear waste free thanks to this beautiful act by God.

I'll pile on with Jeff here on Philly.
Every team pushes rules, and acts tough.
Every team pushes the envelope.
Philly throws it out, always has, always will.
Briere skating thru the crease in Game 6 after Miller had let one in and tapping the back of his head should have garnered him a death sentence.
Carcillo scoring a totally cheesy, lucky, add-on goal in Game 7, then skating over to the Buffalo bench and riding them, should have also resulted in mayhem and torture.
THOSE are the things that drive purists crazy. Those are no-nos that should never be allowed to stand or should never happen.
Thats where hate for certain teams come from.
And I'll stand behind it. If one of our players pulls that crap those two did, I'd call for his immediate release, no matter how big of a star he is.
There's a code. Some people ignore it.

It's the new NHL.  Let that have happened in the 80's.  Secord (God rest his sole, and if he's not dead he should be ) or Willie P would have taken thier collective heads off.

Pretty good proof that the Preds can win this thing.
They were ugly and awful, and Rinne kept them in, but it can be done.
Especially at home, they should win a couple.

I probably was as big a whiner about some of these guys as anyone  .... but it pisses me off and shows we are doing something wrong when guys like Joel Ward and Dom Moore and Nick Leddy are playing in the playoffs and playing well. How do they not fill needs here, but fill needs in better places?

Exactly my point.
And he's huge for them all year, too. (I've seen a lot of locker room stuff on them, and he's a leader)
Just wonder sometimes what we are doing and seeing with certain guys.
Belanger had a good year in Phoenix. Guy sthat we pass on like Ballard and Leopold are still playing (or were earlier this week)
Just sayin ... just because we jettison some of these guys certainly doesn't mean they can't play.

He's one of my faves. You bet I saw it.
We still talk in our town about him when he came thru here as a 14 year old bantam.
One of the best I've ever seen in person. He was amazing even then.
He's really helped Vancouvers back end.
He's the only Nuck I can even think about tolerating.

Whoooo! Perfect start to Rd Two
The Bolts upset the Caps, dominated 'em.
The Sharks and Wings played a dandy.
Detroit already pissed off. Love it. Bertuzzi with his usual stupidity.
Couple really good efforts. Looking forward to more today.

Love it that the refs finally made Detroit pay for their patented cheap-ass stick work.
They've never been made to "keep their sticks down" like the rest of the league is supposed to.

Yikes .... Bruins played like they were on a mission today.
A mission to embarass. Stomped the Philthy Phlyers in Philthy.
Preds and Nucks tonight ....

Btw ... I'm really pulling for a first in NHL history.
If there is ANY way both Philly and Boston can lose, I'd really enjoy it.
(not sure Jeffs scenario will play out)

We got it!  Preds in double OT.  I mentioned it last round.  The only way the Preds can do it is if Rinne steals some games.  Tonight, he did.
