Couple good ones, couple crappy ones.
'Ning stay alive.
Caps close out the chippy Rangers.
Kings stay alive.
Bruins take the lead (booo!)
Huge game in ChiTown today ...

About to head out to the Preds game today, Scott. Can't wait. Biggest game in their history. Hopefully they can come through.

Game was awesome. Crowd was so into it all game. Last 9-10 minutes were incredibly tense just trying to "hold on". And they did.

Congrats to the Preds; best win in franchise history. Hopefully the magic can continue in the next round.

Very cool for you and the town, guys .. big win!
Some awesome action again last night.
Canucks played well, but still lost. That will be a crazy game 7 up there.
Lost ten pounds watching that Sabres/Philthy game, damn, we had 'em and we let 'em off the hook!
Love that Sabre team, Vanek is awesome and Leopold is an important guy on any team who goes and gets him (hint hint)
We keep saying (every time he's available) ... that he's not that good, and yet I keep watching him in every playoff, do very well.
Those two are winners. plain and simple.
Strange goalie doings ... talk about weird, being Luongo and getting pulled, then having to come back in under duress ... same with Boucher in Philly. No excuses, they come in and go to work.
Turning out to be a fantastic Rd One.

Yeah, agreed.  This is the best first round that I can remember.   Congrats Skillz.  Awesome that the Preds advanced.  Their speed, IMO, DID turn out to be the killer.

The Hawks  need just 1 more win and then I hope they get swept .  Which Luongo will we see?

Exactly what I'm hoping too Jeff.
Ruin Vancouvers grand plan, then get the hell beat of them (Hawks) next rd.
Then my world would be perfect.

Couple more tonight ...

Wow, sucks to be a goalie.  The Sabre's are stinking up Philly worse than it already is, which btw, is biologically impossible.   Yet, the best goalie on the planet gets yanked???

Caught the end of the Canucks/Hawks game in between Lakers/Hornets commercials. Wowza. What a finish.

Any way the Preds can beat the Canucks, guys?

God, I hope so.
I'd be torn if the Russians played Vancouver. Or Nazi Germany.
Hawks gave them all they could handle. No reason Preds can't do the same.
It'll be on the tending, as usual. Vancouver is loaded with big bodies that wear you down.

Heard Rosen bragging up the Stanley Cup playoffs on KFAN this morning. Didn't sound like he got much sleep last night. Wow, he was really making it sound like we're missing out if we're not watching all these games. I should probably start finding time for it. Feels like I haven't seen a Twins game in forever though. Although there's no question the product the Twins are giving us probably isn't worth watching when compared to the NHL playoff quality. Following the Twins is a sickness.

I'm naive on this one, but what's so bad about the Canucks to you guys?

Is it just that they're Canadians?......

Because if that's the case, I can totally see it and am totally on board with bashing them continuously.

They had that Brashear dude that was banned by the league for almost killing that guy on the ice.

Worst night ever.  The F'ing Nucks move on and the Sabres get bounced by the Broad Street criminals.  Is there no justice in the world?

Nope, sorry man but that has no bearing on why Wild fans hate the Nuckleheads.  Their entire fanbase is the cockiest bunch of saps on the planet and they’ve never won shit, wore the worst uniforms in sports history for a while, and just generally suck donkey balls.

Really it stems back to when the Wild made their run to the conference finals (only to get beaten by an inferior team who won because their keeper was padded up like the Michelan man).  They changed the entire rule of what  a goalie could wear, pad wise, after that debacle.

The entire city of Vancouver ran it’s mouth about how the Wild would get stomped by the big-bad Canucks.  It wasn’t just a writing off.  It was a total lack of sports class and damn right embarrassing.  They even had their star of the time (Bertuzzi) run his yap at Wild fans telling them their wouldn’t be a game 6 right in their face..   The f-ing pride I felt for the team the night we sent them golfing in their own place still gives me goose bumps.

I'll speak for me only ...
Not a Canadien thing. My best friend is a Canadien.
Vancouver started stockpiling whiny bitches a couple years ago (imo)
They were intolerable when they were getting beat, once they got loaded and good, they have become insufferable.
The Sedin Twins are talented but the prototypical Europeans ... whine and cheap-shot until something good happens, then act liek you deserve it more than others.
And they simply have a handful of "pricks". Burrows, Kesler, Bieksa ... my anger comes from the rivalry they have with the Wild. (yes, there is actually a small rivalry there, no matter how much Vancouver will deny it)
Willie Mitchell was a great guy here, went there and became a prick. They are coached by a prick. Their GM just whined yesterday like he was Scotty Bowman or Phil Jackson. (he doesn't have the cred to do that)
Sedin says after the win last night .... "everyone doubted us" WTF? You were the top team in the NHL, dipstick. You led the series 3-0 (before choking),you meathead.
The only one doubting you was you.
We've just always had nasty games with them. they've injured some guys and laughed about it. And they cry like babies when their guys get touched. Nothing new, everyone has teams that get under your skin. They're completely under mine.

Good stuff jeff
Shoulda let you handle it.
Bingo.
They've simply been cocking off forever, and have won nothing.
If the Preds don;t knock them off, I hope Detroit or SJ annihilate them. Won't happen, but I can hope.

Every time I see a highlight from a Canucks game, I think the Whalers are back in the league. What a copycat jersey.

Greatest tourney in sports starts tonight.

Caps vs Rangers ....... Dogfight. Closer than it appears on paper. Caps in 6
Flyers vs Sabres ........ Another tight one. Flyers are built for playoffs, wish it wasn't so, but , Flyers in 6
Bruins vs Canadiens ... Bloodbath potential. Mismatch on ice tho. Unfortunately, Bruins in 5
Lightning vs Pens ....... Respect what Pens have done. Great coaching. This is a loaded 'Ning team tho. Lightning in 6

Canucks vs Blackhawks ..... Pisses me off we got Chitown in, I despise both these teams, wish both could lose. 'Nucks are loaded. Vancouver in 6
Sharks vs Kings ................ Gonna keep picking Sharks until it happens. Kings will be great soon, not now. Sharks in 6
Red Wings vs Coyotes ....... Always interesting. 'Yotes are dangerous and could stretch this thing out. But Detroit is soooo good. RedWings in 6
Ducks vs Preds ................. Tough one to call imo. Ducks aren't that impressive, Preds have never won a series. Upset special. Preds in 7

6 down, 2 to go.
Two Game 7s tonight.
Night after night after night intensity. Loving it.

Thanks guys. Interesting. I'm still learning. And have a long way to go.

I'll be rooting against them when they come into Nashville next week.

Good stuff SMF.  I didn't even mention the pricks on the ice they've had over the years.  I still want to cross check the following women in the teeth:

Sopel and his greasy hair
May and his slash and run "bad ass"
Cooke the turtle
Ruutu...words can't explain how badly I hate his ass.  He's my Oggie Ogelthorpe

The funniest thing about that fanbase is they've been duped in to thinking they are going to win it all every year only to be had by a sieve. It started with Cloutierre and continues with the greatest goalie the world has seen who gets pulled every 3rd game...Loungo.

I hadn't even thought about the prick from Edina that put it together.  Match made in asshole heaven.
