Devils vs Flyers
Looks like phillys offense will be too much for the devils, but I'm betting universe will keep NJ in it.
Phlyers in 6

Capitals vs Rangers
Another eastern war. There will be blood. Caps speed will give Rangers fits. But lundquist is so damn tight. Tough one.
Capitals in 6

Blues vs Kings
Great to see these two getting better. Should be a track meet. Up and down the wings. Blues are grittier.
Blues in 6

Predators vs Coyotes
Ditto here. Two big young fast clubs. Rinne could be the difference maker. But ...
Yotes in 7

Wish I could change my Phoenix/Nashville outcome.
Nashville by far the better team.
The Yotes never even sniffed Rinnes net, until Whitney netted the game-winner.
If there are such things as embarassing wins ... that was one.
Phoenix rarely even entered the offensive zone the final 50 minutes of that game. Smith is a much bigger part of their game in net.. than I thought he was.

Yuck. Ugly one at The Garden today.
Caps had 17 shots, NY had less, at 14. Thats ridiculous.
Both teams looked sluggish and Ovie was invisible.
Pick it up boys.

Pretty much wrong on all of them so far. (hard to tell how the matchups will play out ... until they actually happen)
LA looked like the better squad last night.
A big road win to start that series.

Man, I've gotta admit. Now that most of my hated teams are out, it's hard to even watch

I guess i'm actually hoping for the Rags and Philthy to move on just to see another nasty series.

Hear ya.
Thats the bad thing about wild first series  ...... they kind of wear you out, esp the ones that go 7
Its hard to crank it back up for the next rd, fans and players alike ...
Usually takes a couple games before they get a good old hate goin for the next team

I know you guys ripped on Zid

looks like the national media's figuring it out too.

Marek Zidlicky -- DOG.

That isn't meant to be an acrimonious acronymed dig at the New Jersey Devils' defenseman, though many Devs fans probably don't disagree today if it were. It stands for delay of game, the penalty for which Zidlicky's name has become too well-associated with in the last two postseason games.
But the canine dig could apply to Zidlicky's play on the ice just before Daniel Briere's overtime winner Sunday in Philadelphia's 4-3 win over visiting New Jersey in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Not long after costing his team any early chance at momentum in OT with a careless flip of the puck into the stands, Zidlicky made three more errors on Briere's goal -- turning the puck over with a bad pass up the boards, losing a puck battle after the it was kept in because of his bad pass and, finally, helping screen goalie Martin Brodeur on Briere's shot.
This may help explain why the Minnesota Wild wanted nothing to do with Zidlicky by late in the season, benching him and finally dealing him to New Jersey for an astounding three players and two draft picks at the trade deadline.

Wow. On the one hand it feels good to be validated and know that our team was right to deal him.

On the other hand I can't help but feel a little bad for Zidlicky. It's not like he was a bad guy, just a bad defenseman.

But the validation part wins out by a pretty big margin.

I say it all the time about our other sports ... and I believe it ...
The players who play here, and the managers and coaches who coach or manage here ... have it DAMN easy.
Zanon got grief in Boston until they were ousted, and Zidlicker will catch hell there in Jersey too.
Minnesotas an easy place to play. Very forgiving press and fans.

Very happy with the Caps. Now they have to hold serve at home. The pipes were the #1 star of the game today for them

Ovie playing a lot less
But he's ready in the third to make a difference.
Really like Dale Hunters approach
The Caps are fun to watch, imo. Good combo of speed, physicality, talent, and toughness.

LA and St Louie have developed some hate.
Should be an interesting game 3.

That one is over. 4-1 Devils with 2 min to go. Man, I would give 2 #1's for Parise and he's from ND

If we can somehow get him in FA it may be the best MN pickup ever. Of any sport.

He's the real deal.

UGGGHHHH. stepped away from the call and fast forwarded. It had to be my nemesis didn't it? Glass groin strikes.

Caps are in trouble unless OV8 carries them from here on out.
