Typical ... Second rd is anti climactic to this point
It's still great hockey, but everyone's come down from the first rd highs.
Smith is leading the Yotes to the promised land. Hot goalie right now.

Crappy turn of a series in NY last night .... Sucks
Twenty seconds left, things that happen in the scrum? Never seen or called, until last night.
Yes, it was a penalty. Just frustrating.

Yotes finish off Preds.
Im the king of exaggeration, but that was one of the weirdest and unfair results in sports history, IMO ...
Not sure I've ever seen a team so dominant over another, be almost swept.
The Preds were better than the Yotes in every area but one. And they're going home. Speak of frustrating.

Yes sir. Agree. The Preds are becoming the new Sens. Dominating talent but can't get out of their own way.

The Caps meltdown was just epic. Poor Ward. He goes from hero to zero in record time. The Caps had that series. I believe they would have closed it out tomorrow. Now? I bet the Rags do.

Yep
Went from ..... In the bag one way, to the other.
Sucks. Think you're right, the caps have to be exhausted right now. Tough to come back from that nut punch.

Great start for caps!
Really liking that team this postseason.
Gritty, resilient, and dangerous.

Great win.
All the pressure shifts to the Rangers now.  (I hope)

I'm shocked the Caps didn't fold like cheap suits. I fully expected it.

Devils vs Flyers
Looks like phillys offense will be too much for the devils, but I'm betting universe will keep NJ in it.
Phlyers in 6
Couldn't have been further off. And I still don't believe it. Goaltending. All I can say.

Capitals vs Rangers
Another eastern war. There will be blood. Caps speed will give Rangers fits. But lundquist is so damn tight. Tough one.
Capitals in 6
Wrong on how long it lasted ... hope the result is right. Sucks we have to wait until Saturday.

Blues vs Kings
Great to see these two getting better. Should be a track meet. Up and down the wings. Blues are grittier.
Blues in 6
Again ... WTH was I thinking. I vastly underrated this King squad. They are awesome right now. Blues got hit by a bus.

Predators vs Coyotes
Ditto here. Two big young fast clubs. Rinne could be the difference maker. But ...
Yotes in 7
Right, but did it a lot quicker than I thought they would. And I still say they were not the better team.

They gotta walk past Dale Hunter to get to the locker room.
Makes a difference.
They are growing into "his" team. Gritty greasy grinders.

Btw ...
Still can get down to a one-man team in the playoffs at times.

Yotes are only here because of Smith
Rangers are only here because of Lundqvist

There are times the Rangers and Yotes simply cannot get the puck out of their zone for minutes at a time, and yet their goaltenders don't allow that to beat them.

Jesus, I've never had a guy fall so fast out of my "I like him" list.
I just spent 10 minutes having Barry Melrose tell me how the Rangers are the greatest team to ever play the game.
And the Capitals absolutely suck.
According to Barry, the Rangers tonight played the greatest game ever played.
The Capitals sucked worse than suckers have ever sucked.

And yet .... if my memory serves (and research proves) .... it was freaking 2-1 NY, and the outcome was in doubt right to the end.
WTF?
Go back and watch your recap, Barry, and stay out of the bottle until you are not scheduled to be on TV anymore that night.
Just saying, your analysis makes no sense.
In his summary, (about this ONE game) that would mean the Capitals were about 27 times better than the vaunted Rangers?
You can't have it both ways. You can't stand there and tell us how great one team is, and how shitty the other is ... and then show the result at 2-1, shots similar, chances similar, etc etc.
Same with goalies .... THink before you talk.
He spent ten minutes tellign us how great Henrik was ...
Ummm, you just spent the ten minutes before, telling us how the wondeful Rangers D allowed NO ROOM TO BREATHE at all, all night.
And that the Capitals stars did not show up. Any of them.
So ... if they didn't, why did Henrik HAVE to be good?
Which is it?

Sorry, I've just been let down by someone I used to trust.

Eastern Conference Finals
Devils vs Rangers
Hard to think the Devils will be able to score enough against the stingy Ranger defense, especially Lundquist in goal.
Should be low-scoring games filled with intensity.
Love Marty Brodeurs career, but I can't see him winning many games in this series.
Torts has the Rangers working hard all over the ice, and they have more talent than the Devils.
Rangers in 6

Western Conference Finals
Coyotes vs Kings
Pretty sure the puck will be in the Yotes end a lot.
Pretty sure the Kings will have the speed and talent advantage.
Also pretty sure that won't mean they will win.
Really hard to bet against Smith in goal for Phoenix, but if one team right now has it all working, it's LA.
Kings in 6

I agree that his argument makes absolutely no sense. If one team is playing absolutely horribly, then a truly great team should have beat them by about ten goals.

If they didn't do that, then they can't be called great.

So either the first team didn't suck as much as proclaimed, or the other team isn't the greatest of all time.

As for Scott and Jeff I admire you guys for sticking with the playoffs so long. True hockey fans both of you. I can't bring myself to care anymore.

I didn't see his rant. Was at a buddies watching the game.

The Caps outplayed the Rags. It's just, the Rags got 2 cheapies (but the Caps was pretty weak too).

Gotta agree with your predictions man. I hope the Devils win it but my brain says Torts boys.

It sounds a littel different now that I'm not as pissed off, but still .... lots of "Rangers are awesome" and "Caps suck" stuff ....
I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Barry actually picked the Caps to win it all.
Was probably feeling a little let-down.  Awwwww.
