Near the end they showed a graphic with numbers of blocks, and Penn State had zero, Minnesota had 8 or 9. They were swarming like bees.

My first extended look at the Gophs. Bostick and Carter's best games and good timing. The Jucos can really add some scoring punch.

This team is light years better than last year's team...much more athletic, and very deep. I can see how they've only lost once. Soooo much more fun than the Monsoon era.

Fill me in DL. Missed it. PSU right?

Yup. Won by 20. And it wasn't that close.

9-9 from 3 as a team, lots of great cuts to the basket, and killer defense. We played this non-stop zone that doubled everyone but seemed to never leave a shooter open. We were rotating faster than the ball could swing. It was like the 2nd half at Iowa. Tubby sat the twin towers and just kept sending waves of long, athletic guys after the ball. It looked like we had 6 guys out there.

And Bostick had a breakout game.

For Freshmen, the 2 big kids are not all that bad. They both have great upsides.

They are just un-real getting after it, especially in the half court. Few shots go up uncontested.

Thats setting the bar pretty low, Ed.
I've had root-canals that were more fun than the Monson Era.

The bar was set that low for Tubby last year. This team is less-experienced and much more athletic...and light years from the Monsoon teams.

I haven't hardly watched them in the past 5 years...now i have a reason to.

Its fun watching the Gopher hoops again.  Nothing is done, lots of season left, but great start 3-1 in the Big Ten.

GO GOPHERS!!!!

Anyone giving the Gophers any chance tonight of winning in Badgerland? Boy, would it make a statement!

Me too. That was the most fun I ever had not going to the games and not sitting right behind the Gopher bench.

That was an awesome season..and that was only 11 years ago, when the season never happened...i'd just moved to Missouri.

Got a new pc since last year's NCAA tourney...now it's got enough horses to stream games...have one on from the Big 10 network site right now...sweet.

Yep, funnest team I've never seen play.
I'm just praying we actually get to watch the next group that gets that good.
I'll take a Final 4 appearance again, just like the one we never had.

You can tell some guys are not ready for prime-time. Shamala should not play in the second half--Nolen needs to get under control. I see a Minnesota run in the second half, but I just don't see outscoring them by 12 or more in one half. Tubby needs some big adjustments.

I'm in shock.

What an unbelievable win. We were dead in the water until the final minute.

Wisconsin's 4th home loss in 8 YEARS. That's just amazing.

Wow.

Adjustments made.

They had 27 points with 9:37 to play...and tied it up at 60 to go to OT...and added 18 more in the OT.

Nolen was just all out of sorts after a good start. Lots of forced shots. The zone didn't work, the big guys were fair at best...

and then Tubby went small....and man, did they get Wisconsin out of their comfort zone. Carter/Bostick/Johnson front line, and Hoffarber and Westbrook. Westbrook REALLY went off.
AWESOME FINISH!

You can tell Hoffarber is ice cold of late....did not look to shoot at crunch time. But he made some good decisions and helped on D.

WAY TO GO MINNESOTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The block by Carter was THE play of the game.

Also nice to have a coach that can actually help to win games.

And make adjustments...it got to the point where Sampson and Iverson were dead weight on the floor. Nicely done to get 5 guys to fly around the floor the rest of the game.

And yeah, that was a SWEET block by Carter.

That was AMAZING. And he just came out of nowhere to not only block it, but recover the ball.
