We sure can play down to the comp...so frustrating. Should have destroyed that team.

Struggled there.

Big lead in the barn, had to re-group.

Held on at a neutral floor.

Can't stand that either, Dave. PSU is not a good team. But go figure, they beat Ohio St. twice this year.

I agree with Barreiro. From a morality standpoint, they don't deserve to get in if they don't beat the badgers.

My opinion is that this team has overachieved this year. At the beginning of the year I would have thought our only chance of getting to the tourney would be if Dre Hollins was an first team All B1G player. He has regressed (possibly injured), Austin is up and down, and we're playing a bunch of guys who have never played at this level before this year (McNeil, Buggs, Smith). That has to say something about how good of a job Pitino has done. And I shutter to think of how this season would have played out if Mathieu wasn't here. He's without a doubt our MVP this year, and it's not even close IMO. Pitino tried to buy him an extra 30 sec. of rest yesterday by subbing him out at about 4:30 know the media TO was at 4:00. We couldn't break that passive press PSU was doing without him on the floor.

I agree, no need to complain if we don't beat Wisky today about not being in the field. I give us about a 20% chance of winning, we seem to match up with them pretty well with the exception of Hayes. If he gets going, we're in trouble.

I agree with all of that.

Hayes is another one of those very solid freshman (lots of them out there this year) that plays like a veteran. Takes good shots and gets to the line a ton.

Dekker hasn't been playing very well lately. Hopefully that continues today.

I think Austin H. can provide some pretty good D on Dekker. I completely agree about Hayes, he doesn't look like a freshman out there right now. He's really progressed throughout the year. Kaminsky also worries me - he's gonna drag Mo/EE out of the lane.

What do you think is up with Dre Hollins this year? I absolutely love the kid, but he doesn't look confident out there right now. Maybe the ankle still isn't right. I remember watching against Florida last year where he was the best player on the floor and single handedly got us back in that game.

They squandered an 18 point 2nd half lead.

They just don't have enough legit scoring options.

The PiPress guy -- can't remember his name -- was tweeting yesterday that he is convinced he is not moving normally, and that the ankle must still be bothering him. Hope that's the case, anyway, I'm hoping he can take another step next year.

Big game today, two of my kids went to Madison, my third is at the U of M. Obviously I'm a gopher fan. Austin Hollins needs to be huge in this game, keep the turnovers at a min.

Hollins boys stinking it up tonight. Andre looks to be hobbling, not sure what Austin's problem is.

Torn about Mathieu. He plays hard with tons of effort and does really well most of the time. Other times he does the stupidest things possible then shakes his head like he can't understand why that didn't work. Also looks pouty from time to time. I think he's talented, but a head case.

One of the worst games they played all year. Andre Hollins gimping, couldn't hit the broad side of the barn, and kept chucking them up anyway.

Yep, bad coaching here... Not sure what the alternative would be with Smith stinking lately, but Andre clearly wasn't himself.

Team doesn't deserve the big dance. Could make a lot of hay in the NIT. Need some good recruits for next step.

Heard that rant.

My opinion is he's taking sports too seriously if he's talking about morality and an NCAA tourney bid.

Way too early to judge Pitino. Way too harsh as well. This is not a very good collection of athletes, let alone basketball players.
I think they overachieved.

I judged 1 thing about Pitino, didn't say he's a bad coach, but I would've sat Andre as much as he was struggling and visibly gimpy. In no way was I harsh. I agree they overachieved.
