What's up with the Pac 12 in the basketball tournament? Never saw that coming.

USC is fun to watch.

Pac 12 played a fairly abbreviated schedule with COVID. Wonder if that had anything to do with their success in the tourney. They look more fresh, IMO. UCLA and Oregon State in the elite eight? Cmon now.

Oregon looked like one of the more physically gifted teams in the tournament. Great athletes all over the place.

What happened with Oregon St....they have some injuries or late recruits that joined the team late in the year? USC, UCLA, Oregeon, and Oregon ST. really came on late in the year.

Not gonna lie, the whole success of the Pac 12 in the tourney is a complete mystery to me. Perhaps it is back to being a legit conference again. It's been awhile.

One thing is for certain, tournament organizers were completely thrown off by COVID or something. They had the Big Ten vastly overrated. That was a complete train wreck.

Actually they beat up on everyone non conference but that is in November. The talent is so equal now that it is hard to pick higher seeds but Michigan was the only worthy 1 seed of the Big Ten.

Iowa, Illinois, Ohio St were given too high of seed.

Can't believe UCLA is in the Final Four. That team is so mediocre.

Gonzaga is a machine. I thought USC actually played pretty well and they got rolled.

How Michigan ever garnered a #1 seed is beyond me. The Gophers stomped them by 20 back in January. That should disqualify any team from a #1 seed.

Michigan was a better team before they lost their best outside shooter. Likely why they were a #1 seed. Got hurt during B10 tournament. But I agree, anyone that lost to the U should never be a #1 seed.
What a dud conference. way overrated.

My bracket felt busted on Day 1. But I have Houston over Gonzaga in the championship game.

Threw my bracket into a random Yahoo league with 606 participants. Sitting in 127th place now, but I could shoot up if everything falls into place.

Houston and UCLA seem like average teams to me.

Hopefully Gonzaga and Baylor meet for title. Should be an entertaining game if it happens.

Gonzaga passes the ball and moves without the ball. No other team in college today moves on offense like they do.

Their passing reminds me of the great Knicks teams with Reed, Fraizer, Monroe, etc.

And they move it up the court.

Not to mention, they play very good team defense.

Suggs is an amazing player.

What state is he from again????

-Big E.J. Onu, unreal stats at Shawnee St.

1 more note: MN didn't offer Ish El-Amin. He's off to Rhode Island.

Ben Johnson got his second commitment to the Gopher program when William and Mary’s Luke Loewe announced he is coming to Minnesota.

Luke Loewe
Ht: 6’4”
Wt: 185
High School: Fon Du Lac, WI

What we are getting in Loewe is a scoring guard who had a successful 4 year career for the Tribe. Loewe is taking advantage of the bonus year being given to athletes due to the Covid year, whether or not he counts towards the actual scholarship or not is TBD at this point.

In 2020-21, Loewe scored 16.2 ppg as a senior and earned himself 2nd team All-Colonial honors. Over this junior and senior season, Loewe shot just over 37% from three. As a junior, Loewe was a starter for the Tribe who finished 2nd in the CAA with a 21-11 overall record.

With the potential losses of Gabe Kalscheur, Tre Williams, Marcus Carr and Jamal Mashburn Jr, the Gophers are going to need several bodies to play in the backcourt. Loewe is guaranteed to be here for just 1 season and should have an opportunity to play quite a few minutes in the Big Ten.

So rumor swirling is the Asst. Texas A&M coach is coming and with him these two:

Cashius McNeilly & Emanuel Miller (Texas A&M) both in the portal; both from Canada. Plus this Assistant coach can really recruit north of the border.

We will see.
