It took 10 minutes for EK to score their first 2nd half points.

So far its an 11-0 run for us in the first 6+ minutes of the 2nd half.

Its too bad Mbakwe can't hit FTs. That could be an issue in the Big10 season.

Look for the implementation of Hak-a-Bak

I just watched hit and miss in the first half, but got to watch most of the second half. Do you think they underestimated the opponent a bit at the beginning and let them hang in there?

Not getting a single point in the first ten minutes of the second half had to have been demoralizing for EKU.

2-6 today
12-20 against Cornell
6-12 against ND State
2-7 against Western Kentucky.

He does have a couple solid games:
6-8 against Virginia
6-7 against W Virginia

He's averaging 8 attempts per game - which is fantastic, but 59% is not going to cut it.

Williams reminds me of the commentator. Kelser. High flier right now, not much else besides dunks.

They don't move/rotate in the zone for shee-ite. Way late, and much too slow to react.

Yup. Absolutely fantastic athlete, not much of a basketball player.

Any talk of his playing the NBA is incredibly premature.

I know we should not take wins for granted given where we were four years ago, but...

The team needs a real point guard to keep things going. Nolen definitely fills that void, but I must admit that I am a bit concerned. Maverick is not going to develop into a 25 minute guy, at least not next year. Andre Hollins will probably offer some serviceable minutes at PG next year, but he'll be a freshman and he's a combo guard. I dunno.

The Gophers need to have energy at the start of games and make their free throws if they expect to compete in the Big 10

Last night 3-7.

He's left 37 points at the line through 11 games. Almost 4 points per game.

Al Nolen cannot shoot from the outside. doesn't even look to the bucket, and he's 16 ' from it, with a SoDakSt defender 3' off him.

They're one of the better 3 point shooting teams in the country so you'd expect that last night. They put up 27 so some were bound to go in

3 minutes left. NO ONE looked for a shot, wound up forcing one off the dribble.

Sampson later fouled, can tie. 2nd freethrow grazes iron to the right.

They played some OK D...but still gave up too many open 3's. They don't move their feet when they need to. Seem to want to rely on size to block or contest a shot. yet
Sampson didn't even bother on one late.

Nolen is soooo lacking on offense. and w/0 Joseph...and occasionally Hoffarber....they can't shoot 3s to stay with the big boys.

Can't win the Big Ten if you can't win tonight's type of game.
Projections are way too high for this current team.
For all the reasons Ed points out.

Our homeboys Leuer and Taylor come back and bite us in the ass tonight.
I hate losing to Wisconsin.

correct, 39% won't get it done in the big 10

Wis threw up 24 3 pt and some are bound to go in. Can't blame the loss on that, they just need to find more scoring

Taylor flat out kicked the Gopher's ass last night. If Nolan is our stopper, he has to do a better job, because he didn't get it done. The Gopher's big men should dominate in the paint, but they don't. Rodney Williams should not be playing out by the three point line, get the kid involved more by the basket. Bo Ryan's teams prove year in and year out how important free throw shooting and solid defense are to winning in the big 10.
