The only man to win the Hobey Baker Award, an Olympic gold medal and the Stanley Cup is now in the MSHSL Hall of Fame. Congrats, Neal Broten.

Not a news flash but...we suck this year. Keeper from Alaska is a promising one but after that, it's U-G-L-Y. Not sure how it's gotten to this.

Comeback falls short.
It appears The Don realizes what we have ... or I guess more like he realizes what we DON'T have.

“We’re not good enough to have a bad period,” Lucia said. “We’re not good enough to make some mistakes and overcome that, especially on the road.”

This is one of the poorest teams I have seen tDon put on the ice I think. Since he changed his recruiting prioirities to guys that will stick around for the long haul, we just haven't seen any top end talent.
I think the B10 hasn't helped either. I personally really miss the old WCHA where I knew I was going to see great hockey games every Friday and Saturday night.

The end of the WCHA was the end of all that was good for Gopher hockey.
Money bites us all in the ass once again.

Yup, pulled out a weekend split with a 4-1 win tonight. I didn't see a lot of the game, but from what I did see they looked much improved compared to a few weeks ago.

I can't believe how stupid the Gophers TV schedule is since the B10 crap.....
Have to tune in to 999 on Comcast at 7PM and hope the game against MSU is on.

1-0 good guys after 1. Kloos got a shorty unassisted. Didn't see the goal since I am jumping back and forth watching my alma mater play for the big school football championship as well.

I spoke too soon ripping the Gophers by saying they were the worst D1 team in the state. Bemidji State is the worst. Go Gophers!

2-0 Gophers after 2. They gave the Mavs 3 consecutive PP's in the 2nd on some stupid penalties.....lucky the Mavs are shooting like Pommenville. LOL.

3-0 good guys early in the 3rd. Vinni trailing a 2 on 1 and had a wide open net.

Bristedt makes it 4-0 with 7 minutes left and the Mavs faithful are leaving the arena.

And that is the final score, with Schierhorn getting the shutout. A good game by the Gophers.

2-0 lead with under 5 minutes left in the game and the Gophers choke away the game to lose 3-2.
Lots of work to do yet for tDon.......

Hard to watch. This is, by far, the worst Gopher team in recent memory.

And apparently hard to sell tickets. Understandably the seats are half empty.

I just watched a bit of the first period and then gave up. I was happy to see that they rallied to win and I hope they get a "Hey - I guess we CAN do this" mentality going forward.

A bad Ohio State team had our first line hemmed in our zone the entire first shift of the game.....I made it through until the end of the period before giving up myself. It could be a long winter if that is the best we can get out of the Gophers. About time for some changes at the top just like the Wild......
