Yes, it was a much better game to watch than the Wild that's for sure. The young guys are starting to take a step forward and Hudson Fasching was a force on almost every shift.

Faschings the kind of superstar we usually have.
Actually good enough to take over and carry the load most nights, but you're never sure if they will.
Vanek did it. Wheeler did in some big games, disappeared in others. Bjugstad only did it when he really wanted to. Same with Fasching so far.
Maybe this group read that citypages article and got pissed off. Well, maybe for one night at least.

More hope tonight. Up 3-0 as I type this, 16 minutes left in the third period.

Finished off with a 4-0 shutout of Bucky in Madison. Gophers slowly working their way up the ladder and playing pretty good hockey. Granted Bucky isn't a very good team at all, but all they can do is play the schedule and keep improving. Some of these young guys are looking pretty good and Fasching has been in beast mode lately. Seems to take 2 guys to knock him off the puck once he gets it. It is always fun to see the sour face on Eaves when we beat them too. LOL

It's weird but it seems like they needed to get knocked down to nothing before they realized they couldn't just figure skate to victories. It lends more credence to the story that they are/were all pampered little brats coming in.

Last night was fun hockey again.

It was fun, and I love watching Seeler on the back end. Haven't had a D-man back there always looking to line someone up since DeMarchi was roaming the blue line.

It was fun because they beat a familiar rival. Would it have been fun if it was against Penn State or Ohio State?

Heck yes! Any win has a fun factor, especially when you've been struggling.

I don't know. Doesn't seem like Jesser, Frank or SMF have been having much fun when the Gophers beat those teams. But we'll find out their take later today. Or in a week or two from SMF.

It was fun for 2 reasons.

1. We beat Wisconsin in thier place.

2. We looked so much better overall.

5-2 after two periods now. I had a feeling after that scoring outburst we would slow up some.

Wisconsin embarrassingly bad two or three years in a row. It could be worse.

And a big finish for a 9-2 final score. Always fun watching Bucky take a beating at the hands of the Gophers.

Are they starting to play better? I get the sense from afar that they are.

Wow. It's gotten so bad for Gopher Hockey that I don't even get the games this weekend. I get coverage, in Texas, of the tourney..it's just Minnesota State versus St Cloud

Two of the usually-top powers in the country having some rough seasons lately.
It happens I guess.

If anyone in the program read that scathing newspaper piece a couple weeks back, and didn't get a boost in the ass, then there is a bigger problem here than we've all imagined.

This is likely because North Star Cup defending champion, Bemidji State, gets no respect.

A really bad game by the Gophers against a team that only seems to play well against them. I doubt I bother to watch any of the games tomorrow. Gophers just not worth watching this season and SCSU will most likely blow out BSU.
