I have a real hard time watching Lucia's Gophers. No passion, no hustle, no pride in the sweater they are wearing. A bunch of spoiled front runners that give up the minute a few bounces go against them. Getting your ass handed to you by an average, at best, Badger team should be unacceptable.

Gophers sweep Penn State this weekend and move up to #4 in the pairwise. Why is it when I watch this team they don't really seem like they belong up that high in standings? I guess we got spoiled back in the days of Leo, Pohl, Potulny and company and my expectations are too high. I'm hoping this team can keep on winning and get it back to where Gophers hockey is must see TV again.

I didn't watch a minute of the game with the Wild on too. Every time I checked in to see the score we were down, so figured I'd stick with the Wild game.....

I was in the same boat. Every time I turned over to check the score it seemed like they were just showing a replay from an Ohio goal.

Time to get back at 'em today and split the series.

Might that be a school record?

Yup, school record.
OSU Could have been called for many more penalties.
The knucklebucks are trying to bring back old tyme hockey I guess.
"you mean we can't charge for five strides, leave our feet, and launch ourselves into people? Whaaaaaaaaaat?"
They act like a club hockey team or a crappy Junior bunch.
Probably trying hard to add "Fighting" to their nickname.

Once again I was just flipping over here and there to check the score, but I was just a wee bit anxious when the Gophers went to the penalty box and I heard the announcers say that Ohio State was the number one team on power plays. Of course about thirty seconds later OSU scored a goal to confirm their status.

Who would have guessed at that point that it would be the Gophers going 6 for 6 on power plays (which has to move us up the ranks in that category no doubt) and win the game? I didn't see much of the game, but based on the number of times OSU was called for a penalty and paid for it by giving up a goal, you'd think they'd learn to yank back on the thuggery. Overall it appears that neither goalie had very good games this weekend.

I caught the last period of the Gopher-Penn St game last night and watched the Gophers pull out a nice win on the road to keep things rolling.

Wisconsin is now ranked in the Top 20. Let's face it - the Big 10 has arrived.

Gophers complete the sweep in OT. A wild finish with the Gophers getting a goal to tie with 2 minutes left and then giving it back with a penalty shot a minute later, only to tie again with 4 seconds left......and then the win in OT.

WOW that is an exciting finish even if it is the rodents. The better they do the better SCSU's pairwise is so I'm all in favor of the Gophers winning every game until the NCAA.

Considering where SCSU sits now in pairwise they would most likely need to win the conference tourney to get in. I'm pretty surprised how fast the B10 has improved to the point of having 3 teams in the top 15 in pairwise this late in the season.

As an SCSU fan I hate the Rodents. They are our arch rivals. I cheer for them in sports where SCSU is not in the upper division which means every other sport.

Right now the Huskies are 12th in the pairwise. I guess it depends on how many upset winners there are in the conference tourneys. However a decent stretch drive and the Huskies could easily finish top 10 pairwise and possibly better. While a tournament victory would be awesome the Huskies could definitely make the dance without it.

I hate to admit it but I'm actually seeing a light at the end of this tunnel. (keep listening close for a train whistle)
Anyway ... it could become one hell of a conference, if they add Notre Dame and a couple others.
Wiscy, Mich and Mich State have solid programs, OSU could, if they grew up. Penn State is advancing because of the money, like we knew they would.
I still am dragging my feet, but it aint going anywhere. We may as well climb aboard.
