Thought about you Jeff when watching late last night
You've always talked about speed
That's what it looks like when you have it ... it improves everything about your game.

Your forecheck becomes smothering
Your defense can be relaxed and smart
Your offense comes in waves
Your goaltender has time and can see everything
We have a couple forwards with blinding speed. They have the ability to make some defensemen look like statues. Lots of blow-by. Opens everything up.
Can tell you right now what UNDs gameplan will be. We better be ready for it.

Yup, love it my man. It's one thing that pisses me off about Yeo (sorry, wrong thread, I know). Haula has it in droves. They should turn him loose.

Btw ...Hudson Fasching ... Vanek with more speed.
Often times the puck would be flipped in from neutral, Fasching would be 2 steps on the defensive side of the puck .. by the time the dump-in got to the end boards, he was two steps ahead of the retreating defenseman.
We've talked about it ad nauseum. Why dump if you aren't going to be there at point of contact? (YeoYeo?)
And agree .. Haula is one of the few Wild forwards who understands.

Pretty cool today actually. The gym I go to is the home gym for the local CHL team, Allen Americans. You can tell who some of the players are and I ran in to a guy who just graduated from Mich St. Really nice guy and we were talking about the B10 in general.

A couple things he mentioned or that I specifically asked him:

1. On the Gophers (when he found out ) ~~ "oh God, they killed us this year'

2. He said Minn is the strongest team top to bottom they've seen all year and he expects, as long as we show up, for us to win it all. When I asked what was the hardest part about playing us he said "everything. so damn deep top to bottom. Their 4th liners are better than most teams first. No weaknesses. Just have to get a couple lucky bounces and hang on for dear life".

3. And the one I found most interesting. The guys love the B10 but agreed there were no real rivalries yet but they are coming. He said Mn will have everyone gunning for them until they catch up.

Apparently what they like best is that it gives them so many more out of conference games since there are only 6 teams. He mentioned they played teams they would likely never have played.

I see this guy all the time but didn't realize he was on the team. He was with the Aeros. Gonna have to try and get dirt on the boys. Will keep ya posted.

There is another guy that was with the Aeros too but I've never seen him. Could be that their website is old. I recognize about 7 guys total. One, won't point out who, is a total D-bag from what I can tell.

He's a pretty big dude and walks around with his headphones on "air rapping". Hands and arms all over the place. Totally looking for attention. I just sit back and laugh.

There's a couple MN boys on there too but I don't remember their faces to match the website. One has a big ass MN hockey tatoo on his calf. It was pretty hard to not notice. One MN guy for sure that I see all the time, didn't realize until today because I've never been on their website:

Cannot believe how quiet this big game is staying ...
Thought for sure by now we'd have a few posts looking forward to it.
Should be a doozy. I think we all knew we'd see each other most years anyway, this way.
If you're gonna renew a great rivalry, it might as well be for some huge marbles ....

More nervous than stoked.

There is no upside, only downside. Can't lose to these guys.

My wife is a Badger (puke) as are several close friends. Not a one said the Final Four game last weekend was enjoyable (even dring the game when they were winning).
