With all of good feelings, the kids on campus rioted in celebration with 10 arrested. Did they think it was the final????? No body does that for a semi final

Unless you beat UND.

I agree Jim. I looked at the news clips and thought WTF! These dumb asses took to the streets and trashed Dinky Town and we haven't even won anything. Another example of how many Minnesota fans are such rubes.

I'm not condoning it. But even a win over Union for the championship won't feel as good as that win over UND did. If they were gonna trash on one of the two nights, last night was the night in this particular case. Weird, I know.

No! There is nothing like a national championship. We have beaten ND before and we'll beat them again. Haven't had a national championship in over 10 years. That's the celebration. Look at it this way; nothing would cut a Sue fan deeper than seeing the Gophers celebrating the national championship.

We are going to crush Union, New Hampshire-style.

Just a feeling.

I hope so but I'm not so sure man. Union was solid yesterday. Their forecheck was incredible.

I'm torn on this critical question. On the one hand; yes, rioting for a semifinal win (well, rioting for anything, but for contect) is silly.

On the other hand, this is the biggest rival, the game ended in spectacular fasion, and it's not as if it was a regular season game.

Tough one.

From what I know .. Thursday nights on most every campus in America is one hair away from a "riot".
That's all that was needed last night to spark something.
Big deal ... we're not burning city blocks or overturning cop cars.
Much ado about nothing.
College kids drinking and getting out of hand? The HORROR!

So, imo, tomorrow is Lucia's biggest moment as a leader. Whatcha got Don? I've been steadfast on the guy. He enters Brooks territory now, can he knock on the door?

Glad you got it...... That's why I cant quit coaching.
Stuff like that.
No one gets it, who hasn't been there. Its amazing. The bond that hockey players can develop is an amazing thing.
I felt like spewing hate towards UND until I kept looking at pictures of those players, spent, tired, sad, and knew what they felt. You can see how much they wanted that one.
My sons involved in the GF scene, and he said it was ugly at the start of the year up there ... when the Sioux were struggling, he saw some really nasty things going on. He takes TONS of grief for being a Gopher fan in that atmosphere, but even he felt compassion towards them after last night. They bonded tight when their fan base turned on them early. The locker room is the one place where teams can always pull it together, no matter how it looks from outside.
Holls probably the least-known "name" in that Gopher locker room, but to see all those "stars" give him their love is what its all about. Coaches and outsiders don't have to spend much time worrying about locker room karma. It almost always works itself out. They either bond together like brothers, or split apart, and fail.
No hockey team ever succeeds, imo, with a disjointed locker room.
You see it in other sports, you wont see it in hockey.

Bingo
This one will be damn tough.
Completely different style than last night.
As Bucci and Melrose said ... looked like two different games completely.
We may flourish against what they do, or it could give us fits. I'm not sure how I feel right now.
I know it wont be easy. And if we don't play at the top of our game, we will get beat, I am sure.
Wilcox will once again be very  very important.

Ilove how the Gopher PR dept lets us in on all that stuff.
They do some wonderful videos on every sport.
Gives fans a great look inside.
The FB locker room stuff is always great as well.

Great point.
To ever be considered a Brooks peer, he's gotta get this one done.
Its been shocking to me to realize ... like Ed said earlier .. its really been since '03 since we've done this.
Not sure if it was the back-to-back titles that bought him all the slack, but that's a long time in-between when you realize it.
I KNOW we've had the top team in the nation many times in that period, and never GOT IT DONE.
Get it done tomm, Donny. Agree Jeff. its his moment to either immortalize himself, or just be another good one.

You almost had me. Until I realized they could have chosen anywhere else to play. But they chose to play for UND. They wanted to be the big men on campus without ever having to prove a damn thing. That's why hockey players go to UND. Automatic studdom. Nothing in life should come that easy.

My future daughter-in-law is in Admissions there.
Believe me ... I KNOW the stories.
