More BS from Souhan in addition to Tim's quotes:

Even those who admire him most can’t believe that he should keep coaching major college football after his latest episode. Either the stress of the job is further damaging his health, or his health was in such disrepair that he shouldn’t have been hired to coach in the Big Ten in the first place.

Oh, please.

-No, I don't think I'm being cruel, I think many of you are being cruel. Kill has had four seizures on game days in 16 home games at Minnesota. The stress of the job seems to have a negative effect on him. You shouldn't want him to put himself in that position for your entertainment.
-No, my criticism of Kill has nothing to do with his coaching. I think he's a solid coach who has a chance to succeed here. But he's not doing the program or himself or his family any favors by risking his health.

Deflection!  I'm not the jerk, you're the jerk!

Pathetic.  Souhan has time and again proven himself to be an unaccountable jerk.

I didn't detect anything in the article that would suggest Souhan is somehow ignorant about epilepsy. He was talking mostly about the effect it has on the program, and that is a legitimate concern.

I did. He said Kill can't handle it and needs to go. That's pretty ignorant. Kill only recently started working with one of the leading epilepsy experts in the world. Most people with Kill's can condition can get it under control with the right combination of medication and therapy and ultimately become seizure free. The first time this happened here, Kill was on the hospital for 2 days. Saturday he was home and eating pizza with his family after two hours.

Souhan wasn't concerned with any of this. He didn't bother to check if his trend was improving, staying the dame or getting worse. It was simply he can't handle it and he needs to go. If won't go, Teague needs to take care of it. That my friend is ignorance.

I feel bad for any kid with epilepsy who read that column: it's ok if you have the disease, kid, just don't let anyone see you have a seizure, because they shouldn't be subjected to that.  Thanks and good luck!

I think Kill's health is a very fair question especially as it pertains to recruiting. Recruits are asking, will coach be there for four more years? But we're certainly not unique. I'm sure it happened at Penn St five, maybe even 10 years ago. Probably with Michigan and Bo Schembechler too. A lot of coaches move around quickly. Nick Saban, Rich Rod, Todd Graham, even Jerry Kill have all bailed on multiple schools after 3 or 4 years. Every year there are many schools and recruits wondering how much longer coach will be there. Doesn't really matter why. Either he's there or he's not. That's just the way it works. Other schools will use this against us...as I'm sure we will use things (like probation) against them.

The 2nd half was much better actually. our ground game started clicking and that opened up everything.

Hmmm.....and we were missing our starting QB, RB, and top two LT's in that half, right?

I don't know if I would say back tracking. More of an attempt to justify comments like Sep 16, 131:15 pm.

"His seizures (1-4) match his record (1-4)." People don't pay to see "a middle-aged man writhing on the ground. The Gophers an "object of ridicule and pity."

It was a pretty lame ass non apology. Like I said, I have no problem with an intelligent discussion of the ramifications of Kill's condition on the program if it persists. What Souhan wrote does not even come close to intelligent discussion.

Well, it's trying, even pathetically. Jimmy wouldn't know an apology if it bit him.

Or telling kids that if you have it, don't count getting a high profile job because people don't want to see you having a seizure

Truth.  Did he ever even give a non-apology apology to the state rep he ripped for failing to support the Vikes stadium who actually did support it?

The San Jose QB is living up to his billing. He's pretty good.

Minnesota is playing physical and controlling the ball. Two good signs.

They have figure out how to get some pressure on Fales. He's just sitting calmly in the pocket and throwing one perfect accurate spiral after another. He's obviously a great QB but we're making it too easy for him. Any good QB is going to pick a defense apart in those circumstances.

Much better 2nd half overall. Still need to clean up the pash rush, DB's and the FG unit.

Pretty good win. SJSU won 11 games last year, and Fales is a real good QB. It was really nice to see our OL dominate a game, I hadn't seen that yet (didn't see the NMSU game, might have happened there).

My one negative is we are going to use 4 QBs every season if we keep running them the way we do. Leidner played great, but no QB is going to make it through 2 Big Ten games taking that many hits. I love the physical running game, and I think it may be the best way for us to compete in conference play. But we will have to show some more balance to win some B1G games. Last suggestion..... get the ball in KJ Maye's hands!! Guy is a playmaker, and he has some edge to him which I like.

Not only is running the QB too much a concern, but running so much, period. They have yet to establish any semblance of a passing game. It's fine in college football to run run run when you are playing lesser teams and you can get ahead and just keep grinding away.

But when they get into the big 10, they are going to run up against some of these loaded teams and get behind and be forced to play catchup. It's tough to continue a grind it out running style when you are behind.

It seems like Nelson and Liedner both have potential as passers. But it would have been nice to see that in non-conference, and develop some timing and chemistry with receivers. Because later they are gong to need it.

Agreed Karl. Even in Mason's "run master" teams, we've needed some huge pass plays to win big games. It should be hand-in-hand.

I'm just giddy that we're actually getting back to a team with some definition.

We'll need to round out the passing game to at least "average" to get to the next level.

The problem is the injuries to the running backs. It's led to more one back sets, which puts more of the running onus on the QB's. If they redshirt Edwards and Kirkwood takes a longer time getting back, we will probably see a lot of Liedner and Nelson rotating. I think Kill was right to try to build a power running attack to put himself in the best position to successfully recruit to a system, but they need to establish some semblance of a passing attack.

Watched the game -- odd one in that I had the feeling the Gophers were in control despite giving up the big passing yardage.  Credit to Fales for making some damn impressive throws.

This is a well-coached team.  Line play has steadily improved, and they are for the most part disciplined.  Very encouraging.

Agree that at some point, you're going to have to complete some passes.  Really hope Kirkwood and Nelson are ready by next Saturday.  I think Iowa is better than they were last year, but we should win this game at home.

I was talking to my brother about the same things. I'm worried that our QB gets hurt with all the running, maybe Kill doesn't have the faith in Liedner in the passing game, but Sat was a good time to get the practice he needs to get in sync with his receivers

Physically manhandled up front on both sides of the ball. That is supposed to be improving and where Kill said we're going to build the program. Iowa made us their b++++ on both lines today.

Also, Nelson looked terrible. Very inaccurate, won't step into his throws. Hopefully he improves, because we're going to need some passing to win some conference games. Disappointing game though.

Another showing of just how far this program is from just competing in the Big. Nelson looks a lot like Ponder, just not an accurate QB. Doesn't help that his recievers belong in D 3. Injuries always seem to be problem with this team.
