More likely to beat Wisconsin IMO, but both would be BIG upsets. Like you guys have said, it's fun to watch a well coached team. Hats off to the coaching staff and players for executing.

How awesome would it be to play either LSU or Oklahoma in a bowl game? Could you imagine 3 years ago when Kill took over playing one of those heavyweights in a bowl game? Pretty unbelievable.

I don't think we could honestly compete with either of them right now, but just to be in a bowl game against them would be pretty unbelievable. This program was a grease fire when Kill took over 3 years ago.

The Gophers have cracked one poll. #25 on the USA Today coaches poll.

Still hovering just below the AP poll.

It's amazing that the Gophers were ranked as high as #20 as recently as 2008, when Brewster was coaching the team.

And this team hasn't yet cracked the AP Top 25.

Yeah people forget that there was a brief time there when it appeared that Brewster might indeed turn it around...didn't last long. Brewster's first two years mirrored Kills'. But after a real good start to the 2nd season and cracking the AP top 25 I don't think they won another game that year.

They never really recovered and in a couple of years he was gone.

Killl on the other hand appears to still be building momentum.

If memory serves, Brewster got lucky with a light Big 10 schedule to start that year.  It was smoke and mirrors.

After next weekend I think we have a pretty good chance of making the BCS top 25.
- #21 Louisville plays a decent 7-2 Houston team
- #24 Texas plays #12 Oklahoma State
- #25 Georgia plays at #7 Auburn

If any of those twenty-something teams lose, they will drop out. The Gophers and/or Mississippi look like the next team to jump in.

8-2 is better than nearly everyone expected. Hard not to be happy with that. But I'm not sure we are quite ready for primetime yet. Wisc and Mich State might still be a little much. Same goes for an LSU or Oklahoma type in a bowl game.

I kind of hope we play in the Heart of Dallas bowl. It's a New Years day game and I want a bowl win this year. Appears to be B1G #7 vs Conference USA. Might be Marshall or North Texas which is a game we can win.

This season has been really enjoyable but 2 spankings will take the luster off a bit. We need to hang with both Wis/MSU even if we don't beat either.

The Wisconsin RB just ran for a 93 yard TD vs Indiana.

Wisconsin is crushing Indiana early....in the rain. If we hang with Wisconsin next weekend I'll be somewhat surprised. Fingers crossed we can make it interesting.

Indiana has just fumbled the ball all over the field in the 1st quarter. Embarrassing.

Dare to dream I guess. Gophers should crack the top 25 without even playing. Miami and Georgia are struggling.

Missed it. But did you see the end of regulation in the Northwestern/Michigan game?? I've NEVER seen that before...with the FG team running onto the field and kicking the game-tying FG with 1 second left....and it was AMAZING they got the right guys out there. The holder came sliding in. Epic. I feel bad for Northwestern. Snake-bitten team this year. They had that one. Was pulling for them in OT, but couldn't do much. Michigan won. Amazing game!

I caught both and you're both correct, great plays. That Auburn pass reminded me of the Bengals tip pass catch in the end zone Sunday

Didn't see either of those, but saw the end of the USC upset over Stanford.  Great games on Saturday.

Really hope the Gophs give Wisco a game on Saturday.  That team is good.  There wouldn't be any shame in losing, but I at least want a good game.

Latest projection is Jan 1 Gator Bowl vs Ole Miss

Need decent showings in these next couple. Get blown out badly will not be a good thing.

Agree.  Most worried about the Wisco game.  I think our defense will be fine against Michigan State (at least, enough so that the game isn't a blowout); not convinced about this weekend, though.

If they could somehow pull off one more win in these last two games, this year would be the major step forward that everyone was looking for.

Even with two losses, it would still be a season that showed progress…slow creeping progress. But one more big win catapults the season to another level.
