Tough break to potentially be without Engel this weekend. Crud.

If they could somehow pull off one more win in these last two games, this year would be the major step forward that everyone was looking for.

Even with two losses, it would still be a season that showed progress…slow creeping progress. But one more big win catapults the season to another level.

You already making plans for the bowl game Karl?

I usually agree with you Karl, but I think this season has been a major step forward regardless of the result of the last two games. We are at worst .500 in the Big 10. Not saying the last two games don't matter, though. If we can pull one out it would be an incredible season.

I agree. Even huge blowout losses in the final two Big 10 games wouldn't bother me much. As long as we play competitively in the Bowl Game, I'll be happy. Of course that depends on who we play against. If it's Oklahoma or another powerhouse, that's asking a lot to win. Sure, it would kind of stink to lose the last 3 games. But it's a tough draw for these last two Big 10 games and the bowl game. If we play against a more middle-of-the-pack program in the bowl, I give us a 50/50 chance of winning.

I think the best chance to win is this upcoming game. I don't see why Wisconsin in a 15 point favorite. That's a lot, considering the Gophers are at home, and playing well, and should be healthy, rested and hungry coming off a bye. Wisconsin is a very good team, but nothing special. I don't see a blowout win. If I was in Vegas this weekend I would take the Gophers and the points in a minute.

After what I saw against Indiana on Saturday, I would take Wisconsin. Especially considering the Gophers really could have lost the Indiana game.

Agree, Matt, I think Wisconsin is a very good team.  But for a terrible call their only loss is to Ohio State, and they have been dominating teams lately.  They have an awesome defense.

It's going to be a cold one at TCF today. I hope they can still fill the stands.

So on average we lose 1 TD catch and 3 drops on 3rd down.

My son's getting married today, so I will miss the game. I hope there are a lot of posts covering a great Gopher win to read when I get home tonight.

Need Northwestern to upset Michigan State today for the Gophers to have a chance at the Rose Bowl. So far they are hanging in there - only down 7-3 with 6 minutes left in the 1st half.

p.s. I know I'm dreaming, but may as well keep hope alive as long as possible.

We're bandwagon enough in this state that I'm thinking they'll have no trouble selling the place out. It's suddenly the "in" thing to do.

Huge play. Turned Williams negative into a big positive.

Keep it up.

Wow. The bad call on Boreland's off-sides really changed everything. 10-7 Skunks.

How was that a pass interference? Didn't Abredaris just stop and our guy ran into him? The ball was thrown way behind him? Looked like a gift for Wisconsin to me.

Definitely no home cooking so far. Gonna need things to go our way this half. Playing well but Wisky is pretty good. Down 13-7 at the half.

Good defensive effort. Offense stymied, Nelson wild throws. 20-7 makes it 10 straight for Wisconsin in this series.

The ball didn't bounce our way (or the flags until it was too late), but overall a pretty good effort. Pretty pleased with the defense as they were better than I expected. The offense just couldn't get it done. Nelson missed a couple of really big throws. Game was every bit as close as the final score IMO. We are not their yet, but getting closer!
