And thank God they have the only offense worse than ours in CFB. 2-1 and on to the next minnow that will hang tough with us thanks to Limegrover's offensive offense.

Not sure I remember a win that was this embarrassing.

At least Kill called out Lime as they were going in to the half. It didn't help, granted, but it was good to hear.

This is just embarrassing. The Kent State defense that got trounced by Illinois shut down the Gopher offense. All they did was sell out against the run and dare us to throw. Worked damn near to perfection. Leidner is just a horrible, horrible, horrible QB. I don't know how Kill can possibly defend him any further. And again, where is Jeff Jones? The kid was recruited all over the country as a playmaker. Instead of burying him on the depth chart out of position, Kill and Limegrover should be looking for ways to get the ball in his hands.

that's the thing that blows my mind. He's clearly made a massive difference on the D (and ST's, to be honest) but it appears they have no clue on offense. Not only is ML bad, the offensive line sucks, no play makers ect...It's just horrible.

I have not watched a lot of the Gophers so far this year, but from what I have seen we could trot out Mike Grant's offensive team from Eden Prairie High School and put up better offensive numbers. Leidner may be a great kid, but he is not a good QB at all and needs to sit. When the line blocks well enough and the receivers get open it is up to the QB to get the ball there on time, and Mitch can't seem to do that. Those kids on offense have no confidence in their QB and it shows in their effort from what I have seen.

The Gopher offense had two players last year who got drafted by the NFL. They were both play makers that made the quarterback look better than he was. I hope the team gives other quarterbacks a chance next week to show what they can do.

The embarrassment of the game was topped only by the embarassing post-game presser.
Kill completely ran the thing in the ditch. A weird, "poor me" disjointed whine fest.
It was GardyWorld times ten.
Very very disappointing.
So, you get "a hundred and five" e-mails from unhappy fans? You do know that in legitimate programs, you'd be getting a couple thousand angry ones, don't you?
Wow, just embarassing and ugly. You've gotten nothing but love and support from this fan base, and they now want some results. Wake up you big baby. I'm actually happy some of our teams are expecting MORE than simply a win.
These games are for sharpening your game and preparing for B10 play, not for squeaking by and calling it a great win.

I agree - that was a weird post game press conference. I kept thinking that something else personal was going on behind the scenes to make him so maudlin. I hope whatever it was he snapped out of it and got back down to business to fixing what needs to be fixed.

Yep, I completely disappointed in Kill over that presser. I really expect better from him. That was just flat out embarrassing. The fact that the game was a win does not negate the concerns over an abysmal offensive performance and the fact that we beat a pathetic football team by 3 points on our own field.

Decker had a drop or two, but still very proud that dudes an ex-Gopher.
Fun to see our guys playing on Sunday, and fitting in.
Always pulled for Maroney, Barber, Utecht, Ty Carter, etc ....
Our secondary should turn out a couple more soon.

OMG. That is seriously whacked out. Smith is a Frosh and is averaging 4 YPC. Our issue is ML and the OLine.

Lots of people seemed to give all the credit to Manning, regarding Decker. Turns out he's a pretty darn good WR, even with poor QB's throwing him the ball.

Yeah, guys ... But .... Leidner called coach and apologized after the game.
That's some reporting that probably shoulda been kept off the AP wire.
I'd be calling for my money back, from that Manning School we paid for this past summer.
Joe Mauers still the best amateur QB in the state, 15 years later.

Brooks is a surprise and a good find. He looks legit.
Defense got gashed today more than it ever should.
Glad to see Kill didn't go all "whiny bitch" afterwards this week.
But he can keep the "every win is special" stuff.
Injuries are piling up. We need to get healthy and get focused, or a couple B10 teams are gonna pound us like hamburger.

Offense, better than usual.

Defense, worse than usual.

Special Teams, except for the Kicker and Punter, PATHETIC. James should never be allowed to field a punt again.

Way to hold the fort down brother. I was on the road for 12 hours, missed everything. Sounds like it was a blessing.

I never thought I would be questioning whether our defense would be good enough to compete in the Big Ten. I am now. It speaks more to the state of the team than it does to Mitch Leidner that he was far from the biggest thing to bitch abut yesterday. If that O-Line doesn't get fixed, this team is in for a miserable year. As near as I could tell, Strevler got more reps at receiver than Jeff Jones yesterday. I think Kill is coming down with Gardyeoditis.
