Look at us since we pounded Iowa.
Look at them.
Look at us since we beat Michigan.
Look at them.
Look at us since we beat Nebraska.
Look at them.

Somethings really wrong.

Didn't we do better than expected against Iowa? I know we hate moral victories, and I'm not even calling this a moral victory. But I thought we played pretty well. Our defense wasn't great, but Iowa's offense had a lot to do with that. Look at what we're working with for a QB and I'd call it a miracle scoring 35 points against a Top 5 team in the country. I get it. Our record sucks. We should have more wins. But that was a tough one to think we could have put in the W column. And we damn near did, even with AS USUAL some very biased officiating against our club.

The only thing I will say for Claeys at this point is that he appears to have opened up the offense a little. I still say this was incredibly short sighted hiring, necessitated by the fact that the U has dragged its feet in finding a new AD and the panic Claeys created over potentially losing their best recruiting class.

State of the Gophers

Minnesota Football QB Mitch Leidner has now thrown for 2,167 yards on the season and is the 1st to pass the 2,000 mark since Adam Weber in 2010.

Ratings stink. Iowa is NOT a top 5 team. May not even be a top 10 team.

Whee!
We played well against a team we beat four hundred to nuts last year, and gee, we almost kept it close.
Whee.

This times ten.
They'd lose to one of the big boys by fifty.

We were in the OSU and Iowa games on the road and should have beaten Michigan at home. None of those 3 are ready to win it all...

As shitty as this season has been, how good will it feel to get a win over Wisconsin next week to be bowl eligible?

Agreed but from the sounds of it, a significant number of 5-7 teams will be bowl eligible this season....

Oh my gosh for poetic justice! Badgers lose the game when their receiver didn't complete the process! I love it. Somewhere Dez Bryant is laughing hysterically!

Badgers with two td's overturned at the end! Game should have been over on a motion penalty by the QB the refs missed. Badgers wanted a PI call at the end, but it was a great non-call. No way that's a flag.

Nice win by the Gophs. Boddy-Calhoun had a rough game, especially with the offsides on the FG that resulted in a TD. Leidner was pretty good again and Brooks was great except the Fumble. #8 on D made some nice plays.

I liked the call to go for 2.

Next weekend will be fun. Hopefully the Vikes get us off to a good start against Wisconsin tomorrow and the Gophs get the Axe.

Nice win against a decent opponent.
I really like Claeys's tendencies. He's definitely a gambler and a loose cannon about some decisions, and I like that.
Going for two at the end must have shocked the Illini as much as it shocked the Mn fans.
Makes you feel great, ends the game. (when its done right)

The Gophers football team has had two players de-commit from its 2016 recruiting class in recent days, according to multiple recruiting sites.

Andre Polk, a linebacker from South Fort Myers High School, flipped his committed to South Florida, and Tralund Webber, a junior college defensive end, has flipped to Oklahoma State.

Both are consensus three-star recruits who plan to enroll at their new schools in January, giving them a chance to participate in spring practice. Webber is currently attending Blinn College, a junior college in Brenham, Texas.

The Gophers have 16 other players committed in this class, with signing day coming Feb. 3.

Good thing we rushed to make him HMFIC so we wouldn't lose recruits.

Huge pick six by Boddy-Calhoun on Wisconsin's first possession, then the Badgers easily march down the field to tie it up. We need to win this game for the axe and the bowl game. Would be a huge lift after an otherwise disappointing season.
