I was expecting more, but we did win in spite of ourselves. I'm not usually a rag on the coaches guy, but you could tell we weren't well prepared for this game. The lack of putting an extra safety in the box against the Wildcat is one example. It's not like Syracuse was unpredictable when they were going to run it. They ran it on first down almost all the time, and never on any other down. You could also tell we weren't ready for the noise. Anytime Weber audibled, we had a false start. At that point, the defense knew what the snap count would be on an audible and that's a huge disadvantage. BTW, we had a supposed 5 star JUCO recruit at WR named Carpenter. Did he even see the field today? We need other wideouts to step up, Weber's overreliance on Decker will come and bite us against better teams. Hopefully Bennett isn't hurt too bad, he is far and away our best back. Quit dicking around with Eskridge and have Bennett on the field all the time. Bottom line, unless we play much better we will get HOUSED the next two weeks when we open TCF against Air Force and Cal. Cal is looking like the truth against Maryland tonight, and I have a feeling Air Force will put up about 300 yards rushing on us.
