Looks a mess at the moment.

Tough to be a "running team" with no Offensive Line.

Unreal.

We absolutely run it down their throats to the 1 and then fall apart and have to kick the FG...

I was wondering how Leidner got to play for 4 years....... now I know.

The QB recruiting at this program has to be the worst of any college in the country. That guy coming in next year must be licking his chops at the opportunity ahead of him.

Yeah... If we hang on, we should probably enjoy it. Most likely will be the last win until next year.

ANY coach other than Lovie Smith standing on the Illini sideline, and we lose that one.
He gets worse, every level he drops.
There's been tons of horrible clock management in that building ... he might have topped every one that preceded him.

One of my Marshall boys returning punts today
The Grass Monster came up and tackled him several times.
Oh well, already lost the bet, he DID see the field. Good on him. he is a good kid.

Not giving up on Fleck but this team is actually regressing. Croft may be the worst "dual threat" QB I've ever seen. He can't pass and sucks as a read option QB.

Santoso punting is our biggest weapon

Croft looks big and strong and fast
He's slow, weak, and soft.
Some potential, but wow, kid ... for every great move our RBs made today, he made a horrible decision running.
Turned into traffic every time, weakly went down on first contact.
Illinin have a similar FRESHMAN taking snaps, and we had a helluva time corralling him, and getting him to the ground once we did get to him.

I will say ... much like Masons days (enjoy the hell out of mason, btw... on the call)
We CAN run the hell out of the ball at times.
Great RBs we find, somehow.
Some good holes, but mostly, some great runs.

Two or three series today ...looked fantastic.
Then we throw in a stinker or two, and give all the momentum we gained back.
We still have some decent athletes on D. When we are all healthy, its not a bad D.

So much for Michigan being back ... Penn State just pounding them in State College.
Barkley is simply unstoppable most days.

Completely agree. He did not look like the athlete he's supposed to be.

Sad sad stuff.

A recent Twin Cities high school football standout who committed to the Gophers but later changed his mind died in his St. Paul home Monday. Jovanny “Jojo” Garcia was 19 years old.

“Sadly, it appears” that Garcia committed suicide, police spokesman Steve Linders said in an e-mail to the Star Tribune.

Garcia was a star defensive tackle, first at Cretin-Derham Hall in St. Paul, then at East Ridge in Woodbury. However, East Ridge had to forfeit all of its 2013 and 2014 victories because Garcia was declared ineligible following a residency dispute.

“It affected him. I felt bad he had to go through that,” said John Griffin, assistant football coach at East Ridge High School.

Griffin said Garcia came from a “tough situation” at home and at one point lived in his car during high school.

“He needed football,” he said. “He needed that concept of team and family. I just worried that he would either end up in jail or dead one day.”

Garcia, who Griffin described as having a great smile and infectious personality, transferred to Simley High School in Inver Grove Heights but didn’t play football there.

Garcia committed to play for the University of Minnesota, but changed his mind when head coach Jerry Kill left in 2015. He then revealed his intention to play for Iowa Western, a junior college in Council Bluffs. That never materialized.

“The kid had unbelievable ability,” Griffin said. “It’s unfortunate.”

The Ramsey County medical examiner’s office said it’s awaiting toxicology test results before ruling on a cause and manner of death.

Sounds those Woodbury parents didn't like the idea of a homeless kid playing on their team. Well, either that or the parents/coaches of Woodbury's rivals (probably more likely).

This QB play is embarrassing. 0 for his last 8. And an awful overthrow on 4th down on a TD attempt. I MISS LEIDNER!!

Croft is not the answer at QB for the Gophers!

Croft had a bad game, but several catch-able balls were dropped so the WR's need to do there job too. I kept thinking we needed to run the ball more, but we passed a lot of times we didn't need to and it wasn't very effective.

Croft has a decent arm....he is slow in getting the play in motion, and his decision making needs lots of work....he is a rookie at this level, so you expect these things, but he is not very agile, and does not make get outside the TE much when attempting to run....we really don't have another option!

This guy will be here next year from Ohio....two way threat and a good looking arm!
