I've had enough of Morgan. If Axe is healthy get him there.

Now another Turnover. Get Morgan on the bench.

I just checked Northwestern's record. They are 6-1 in conference and 0-3 nonconference. I've never heard of such a thing.

The game was there for the taking. Poor QB play led to 3 turnovers which cost us.

Let the Axe play to win the Axe next week.

I think it had a lot more to do with bad WR play than QB play. Bateman's drops and deflections killed us all game. I think the offense has performed much better with Morgan than Ax.

Ya, well you like the new floor in the barn too, so that negates most of the value of what you have to say...

Bateman didn't help, but he didn't cause the 2 INT's or fumble, or the fumble we recovered down by the goal line. I don't think he has a very strong arm. There is a lot of loft on his passes and they stay in the air a long time, gives DB's time to close on the WR's. Axe has a stronger arm and looked pretty good for being so green until he got hurt. After that he sucked, but if he's healthy I want to see more.

Bateman factored into one of the ints. I just think the O took a step forward when Morgan took over. I wouldn't pull the plug after one bad game.

The pass was to him, but was well in front of him, hit the DB in the numbers and then it was hot potato time. I don't think you can place any blame on him for that.

Phillip John Fleck is the "Turkey of the Year" from Reusse/Strib

That was such a tough choice...

Phillip John had plenty of company, with Jackass Butler, Too-conservative Zimmer right up there for me.

Gah, the Vikings drive me nuts. As always.

Zimmer's tight to the vest offense until you're behind is NEVER going to get this team past the likes of the Rams and Saints.

And Spielman's refusal to really improve the o-line is factor #2. Dumb ass.

Almost forgot the other candidates ... no kidding
Plenty of choices.

Loved the MNF game ... and hated it at the same time. Because its another evolution of the game that we will be behind the times on.
We are always watching, instead of partaking.
In Minnesota .... we like to watch. That should be a bumper sticker.
Fran, Foreman, Burns, and then '98 ... were the only times we were the shit.
Will never forget one of the first memories I have of becoming a sports nut ...
My Dad (who wasn't that big of a sports guy, he knew stuff, but rarely paid attention) and me are sitting in our cozy living room, must have been early'70s.
And we're watching the New Years Eve college games. Back then we always went to a couple Gopher FB games a year in the old Memorial Bowl.
He and I just sat there with our mouths open. It was someone like Alabama/Oklahoma, and they were running the option.
It was like we had encountered beings from a different planet. The speed and deception was light years ahead of what we had seen in MN up to that time.
It was like we had pulled up to the Indy 500 in our Model T. It stuck with me all this time. There are different levels of competition in every major sport, and in many ways we are still behind in almost all of them.
So lets all be thankful on this special holiday!

I completely agree. 98 was light years ahead. And they puckered up enough too.

Fast break FB. KC turned it over enough to give up 21 off turnovers and they still kept attacking.

Hell after 2 turnovers Zimm was about to keel over vs CHI

Model T/Indy 500 is so spot on in multiple MN sports. Sad

I don't think it's that guys. I think we are just too nice. You know, MN nice. We feel bad in the heat of competition so we:

Had GA miss the FG in ATL to send them to the SB. Hell, they live in Georgia. It's all we could do
The Wolves knew they would dominate if they drafted well right from the get go so they threw the league a bone and drafted Laettner
Remember when Dino wanted to punch him? He didn't out of kindness

The ultimate giver has to be our great Captain. Who takes the tradition of 'giving' so seriously that he actually gave a guy his stick so he could score a goal after losing his own. The ultimate human sacrifice. We will resurrect a statue outside of the X and will simply be called "The Giver"

Yeah, that's a given Jeff
And the only guy my Dad didn't like? Bud Grant. And I agree, in that he started our attitudes.
Great teams of ass-kickers that he insisted take their feet off the gas pedal (IMO)
Brushed off the SB embarrassments because we were #2 and that was ok. So .... being #2 is ok I guess. (take that #2 however you want)
All those years of dominating the awful Central Division, by winning games 13-10. Wheeeeeee.
Don't embarrass other team. Be nice to em. Respect em. While they laugh at us when they beat us.
We're still that way. First to tip the hat. Give the respect. Admit the defeat. Good people. Bad at sports.

I'm optimistic about this one. I bet there's a decent chance the B10 wants the officials to favor the Gophers today so the conference can get an additional bowl eligible team.

That was a really good challenge and a really good playcall. I couldn't believe that original spot. The refs are supposed to be WITH US this time.
