Morgan = NOT an answer
Keep auditioning.

I go back and forth on Morgan. Compare him to a freshman Liedner and he is way ahead of the game. On the other hand, Liedner is not the bar I am looking to set.

for hot rods that think they can throw MN would be a pretty inviting place, if the real teams pass on them.

BINGO

Don't be afraid to send out some feelers to the big boys back-ups.
(since we're all-in on this whole players-gonna-do-what-they-want thingy)

The Texas QB who starts classes in January could fit that bill. He is supposed to compete for the starting job right away.

Lest we forget, congratulations to Tyler Johnson for breaking Gopher single season receiving yards and TD records. If he enters the NFL draft, I'm sure he will make it. I'm the kind of selfish prick who wants him to play his final year whether it's in his best interests or not.

I read somewhere that he is playing....but I bet that could change.

"Following this two-touchdown performance in Minnesota's 34-10 win over Georgia Tech in the Quick Lane Bowl on Wednesday, Johnson looked into a camera and said: "See you next year."

I've been a fan since his senior year at North. Amazing prep bowl performance as a QB & CB in that game. Passing and running for TDs and picked off a couple of passes. Then he goes to the U, switches to WR and breaks records. I can only imagine what his numbers would have been with good QBs throwing to him. He may have been a potential first rounder this year.

RE: Johnson. He has shown flashes of true elite talent but he also has had some frustrating drops. He needs to clean that up to be a 1st rounder IMO.

I've seen plenty of 1st round receivers make those same drops. When you look at how instinctive Johnson is after only 2 years at the position, it is pretty remarkable. The corner TD catch is a great example. Perfect positioning and body control. The only way the db could break that up was to interfere.

The thing is, it seemed like he actually did clean it up as the season progressed. It was a pretty big problem that bugged the hell out of me to start the year.

And then you were so bugged that you couldn't let it go.

Eww

Bad matchup for Purdue.

MN kicked their butts and sent then down the tubes.

I see the schools involved and expect Auburn 48 Purdue 7. Actual score 63-14. I wasn't too far off, but should have known Purdue couldn't hold Auburn below 50.

UCF defensive coordinator Randy Shannon doesn't like the mindset of players who decide to skip their team's bowl game to prepare for a career in the NFL.

"If you draft a young man that leaves early and now you're not a playoff team [in the NFL], that young man [is] going to say, 'I'm not going to play.' Same situation. Right, wrong or indifferent," Shannon said (per ESPN).

He even used the "T" word, strong language when it comes to an athlete's pride:

"If a team is 6-9, no chance of them making the playoffs, are they going to play or are they going to tank it?" Shannon said. "Especially if you're on the last year of your contract, option year."

Football playoffs are a joke

Notre Dame was #3?

Waxed, easily.

Oklahoma following suit.

Georgia and Ohio State would have given better games.

UCF would have given Clemson a tougher game than ND. That was a joke.

PJ Fleck to take the Miami job?

Well, some here will certainly be happy about this development. Not me.

Is this for real. Holy F'ing shit.

However, all I could find was somebody suggesting Fleck could be a candidate.
He was one of 12 suggested. Also a report as of 26 minutes ago said the Defensive coordinator Manny Diaz will be promoted to head coach so the Fleck to Miami appears to be nothing more than wild speculation.

I had a question mark after it. There are rumors.
