It shouldn't be lost on any receiver entering the portal that the Gophers are one of only two teams with two 1,000 yard receivers.

and why wouldn't you try to be a part of a great turnaround story, instead of "just another guy" at a place like that?
Makes me wonder how willing some are to accept pressure and responsibility
Easier to become a part in a bin rather than put yourself out there …. I guess. Makes you want to steer away from those types.
I'd sure take him tho at this point. Crawling back or not. Lets become a juggernaut in the passing game, no one in the B10 seems to be able to handle that type of game

That's the other thing. It's not like the Cornhuskers have been relevant in recent years.

That's the funny thing
"Played for Nebraska" means something completely different, depending on what decade you are talking. Same for Miami, FSU, USC, etc …
Some get caught up in that. 'I went to a GREAT program" …. ummm, yeah, 20 years before you got there …..

Is something how those legendary programs have gone by the side as far as being relevant

Notre Dame still tries
Michigan too

Florida is also just another team

It’s
Alabama
Clemson
Georgia
Ohio State
And maybe LSU if they keep it up after this year

That are must destinations for the top shelf kids

The rest fight for those kids who don’t want to go those top programs

Some believe the playoffs will be expanded soon

I like 4 teams only

Texas in that "used to be …" pile, too.

Had to laugh
Saban said ‘no fair’ when Auburn deked them into that last penalty to lose the iron bowl

Oh boo hoo Nick

There aren’t many that feel sorry for you

Gus Malzahn absolutely PUNKED him that entire game, imo.
Just ABUSED him.

At least Slick Nicky can blame his kickers
Saw a stat where his kickers have been by far the worst in CFB during his time. By a ton. More missed kicks than anyone.
Cue some David Bowie …..

Given how little the run game was working early
Or later

Not Ever having Green pass this year bit them in the biggest play early in the game

And that play (why suddenly go tot that, there?) using Green at midfield, imo, punched us in the mouth
He got rocked on the run.
Our power guy was stuffed. It almost was like you could feel our guys going "uh-ohhhhh"

That was the perfect moment to use a different wrinkle to our wildcat set. All anybody has seen is Green keeping it this year. Wisconsin sold out to stop it. If they had told Green to throw it, they would have caught the Badgers flat footed. Those are the games and situations where you show them something different.

Kind of like holding an Ace up your sleeve. Got to know when to use it. or should I say you have to have the cahoones to use it.

Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, UCLA used to be perennial powers as well. Ohio State and Alabama are without a doubt the two constant power programs in college football. They are the Patriots of the NFL.

The Gophers have received a commitment from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. wide receiver Douglas Emilien. He recently took a visit to campus on Nov. 29 and chose Minnesota over offers from Miami, Cincinnati, Virginia, West Virginia, LSU, Maryland and others, per 24/7 Sports. Emilien, a 6-foot-0, 172-pound wide receiver, ran a 4.74 40-yard dash, 4.19 shuttle and posted a 34-inch vertical, according to 24/7 Sports data.

Emilien was a deep threat and red zone target in the American Heritage High School offense. He posted 36 catches for 595 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2019. He is the 24th commitment in Minnesota’s 2020 recruiting class, which ranks No. 32 nationally, according to 24/7 rankings. Emilien is the fourth-ranked recruit among the Gophers' 2020 commits.

His shuttle is really quick as it would have ranked 3rd for WR at the NFL combine?

Been reading that too. Please God no. As much as I love this team I know they would get absolutly crushed unless Sabin plays mostly Frosh/Sophs.

Agree. That could get ugly for us.

Rather play another overachiever like Utah.

I believe we can choose which bowl game we go to provided we are given choices.

not sure if this still exists anymore though.

They would be stupid to turn it down if they even had a chance too (not sure the rules there). It would be a massive promotion game for the program.
