A true moment of pride for Gopher Nation. Ranked #5 in ESPN's Bottom 10.

I always looked at these and worried that one day we'd be there, and the end would be near.
So here we are. We "made" it.
As bad as we have been, it's never been this obvious and embarassing, nation-wide.

My only question is; are there really 4 programs worse than ours?

FWIW Glen Mason is predicting a Gopher win.

I remember being in grade school, listening to the radio on a fall Saturday afternoon as Marion Barber and Garry White led a ground attack as the Gophers upset #1 Michigan 16 - 0.

That was 1977.

Who would have thought 33 years later that was maybe the high point of following Gopher Football for me.

Back then Northwestern was the dregs....everybody's Homecoming Game opponent.

We have now become the laughingstock of the Big 10.

Embarassing.

Loved that '77 upset game, maybe the top Gopher FB memory for me.
Mark Carlson had a great day. I remember our entire family was working on the harvest, and we were all just giddy about it, everyone had the radios blaring and we kept saying ... "I can't believe we're gonna win this thing".
Great memories of that day.

I read in morning paper where Brewster says them having a tough schedule will payoff. I had to scratch my head thinking of the tough games they played. I see only 1 and that was USC

Look at the Gophers' record right now and you will have to agree that it was indeed a tough schedule for the Gophers.

Northwestern is 31-12 under Fitzgerald.

It is possible to win at the 'smaller' Big 10 schools.

14 trips into the Red Zone in 4 non conference games?

Amazing. Even more amazing when you figure in we're second in the nation in Time of Possession.

No one watching today?  So far the offense looks alright but the defense has only one hope of stopping Northwestern.  Turnovers...and they got 2.  End of 1st qtr

How about now?  21-14 Gophs.

Weber is having by far his best passing game of the year.  Where has THIS guy been for the last 20 or so games?  Even the deep incompletions were spot on.

I have no idea what happened. He looked bad on his first few throws, but he suddenly got...good.

Big question now is if Brewster can match NW's halftime adjustments and keep it going.

This looks like a team that should have been 3-1 in con conference.

I still don't think we can consistantly stop Northwestern.  And not crazy about spying Persa with Tinsley.  They have won that matchup several times including a 3rd and 17.  Also, our lack of pass rush from the DE's continues to kill us.  They are one on one and can't generate much pressure.  Maybe it's to give Leston Simpson a chance.  If anyone has been double teamed, it's been Kirksey!
