Running back Adrian Peterson should have been penalized for taking off his helmet after his fourth-quarter touchdown Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, NFL vice president of officiating Mike Pereira said Wednesday. Blah Blah,in the middle and this at the end..............League could still fine AD 10k as an unsportmanlike first offender. "I was just caught up in the moment. I wasn't trying to celebrate." Vikings coach Brad Childress said he talked to Peterson about taking off his helmet. Childress also said he talked to Pereira about the issue on Tuesday. Childress said Peterson was not trying to be "ostentatious." I would like to once again, thank Emmitt Smith and Brett Farve for the need for this dumb ass rule, that could be interpreted this way after the fact. Thank goodness the refs understood, the flow of the game and left this alone.
