CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Carolina Panthers quarterback David Carr missed practice for a second straight day Thursday with a sore back, increasing the chances 43-year-old Vinny Testaverde could start on Sunday at Arizona. No word on whether or not George Blanda will be able to back up Vinny. Otto Graham has a nap scheduled that day and will be unavailable.
How about Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy?

My goodness the NFL has some really lousy teams this season. Here are the power rankings for the league's worst teams starting with, and if you can believe this, the Raiders at #18: 18 Raiders 19 Lions 20 Chiefs 21 Browns 22 Broncos 23 Bengals 24 Bills 25 Falcons 26 Eagles 27 Vikings 28 49ers 29 Jets 30 Saints 31 Rams 32 Dolphins The surprises in this list is the Raiders at #18 and the Falcons at #25 (aren't they perhaps, overrated?) and aren't the 49ers supposed to be an improved team? All of these teams are so bad that the rankings could change throughout the 2007 season and it really would make little difference. They are all plus or minus about three points apart as far as the oddsmakers are concerned when matched head-to-head with one another and I would not bet the farm on any of these teams as a certainty to defeat another. The Vikings could be #20 or #32 and would anyone really care because the abilities of each of these teams to dominate a football game is simply nonexistent.

I think the Eagles and Bengals have the potential to move up to the 12-18 range if they get their teams turned around. I must also admit that I was on the Marvin Lewis bandwagon to replace Dennis Green but he has been no better than Mike Tice was. Everytime his team flashes some potential they fall back down. They look a lot like the Vikings of 2004.

That is ugly. Kind of hard to say how much wrong he did but it would appear that if he sees her climbing in the car while it is moving he should stop.

I am SO bitter I don't have that game on. I have to watch the freakin' Chargers/Raiders game out here. The Chargers always DESTROY the Raiders. Culpepper is done, I think. Even with his "big game" he didn't look good. Same is the case today. I don't hate losing that guy. And we did quite well to get a 2nd rder for him before the end I think too. Did I mention I'm bitter about not getting to see NE/Dallas? Gah, this sucks. I had a few friends actually call/write in to CBS to complain.

P.S. It's going to be a joke of a Superbowl with NE vs. Dallas. NE will win by 30.

If Brady could come close to hitting Moss in stride this game would be over but now it is close again. I tell people all the time hitting the deep pass is very hard - not as easy as just chucking it up there. Brady's balls are too flat today - a lot like Jackson's used to be.
Shame about Daunte I really liked him How long before JeMarcus?
Ya. I bet it's coming soon JC. I could see him in there by week 8. Still don't know what to think of him. I think he's going to be very much one way or the other, either a total flop or a superstar. Don't think Russell will be "mediocre." It's be bust or star. Thanks for the updates on the NE game JC. Ya, sounds like Brady's having about his worst game ever. My little brother out in MN hates the Pats, but just told me he's shocked at how bad a couple of Brady's passes have been.

Is there a bigger whiner in the league than Rodney Harrison? This guy whines after every single play!
