Geez, that's awful. That's the whole POINT of crowd noise in football! I love Goodell so far, but if he does that, that will be a big knock against him in my book.

And I guess there's talk of a SuperBowl being held in London soon. That would be wild.
I HATE that idea. It's already nearly impossible for the average, yet passionate football fan to even sniff a ticket for the superbowl. Why make it even harder for us?

Peyton Manning Accident Rumor Unfounded Tue Oct 16, 2007 The Tribune News reports rumors over the weekend about the death of Indianapolis Colts QB Peyton Manning in an automobile accident were unfounded. It turned out to be a hoax that someone had perpetuated on several Indianapolis-area media outlets. The rumor got around Friday afternoon that Manning had been killed in a two-car accident on I-465 near the Indianapolis airport. A phone call to a Colts’ representative, however, was enough to calm everyone’s fears. Manning was contacted by phone in New Orleans, where he spent some of the bye weekend visiting with family. And he did take part in Monday’s practice session.

Vikings Lower Asking Price for Moore Mon Oct 15, 2007 Yahoo Sports reports in the aftermath of rookie RB Adrian Peterson's stunning performance Sunday against Chicago -- which led the way to 311 yards rushing for the Vikings -- Minnesota has dropped its demand for a third-round draft pick in exchange for backup RB Mewelde Moore. According to two league sources, the Vikings have let Tampa Bay, Denver and Houston know that they will take a fourth-round pick by Tuesday, which is the deadline for trades during the season. I still don't know why he doesn't play....

I wonder what they gave up for him. Mewelde Moore is a better back than Michael Bennett, but they probably only had to give up a 7th for Bennett.
http://blog.washingtonpost.com/nflinsider/2006/09/commissioner_says_hell_study_p.html Commissioner Says He'll Study Putting Radio Receivers In Players' Helmets to Negate Crowd-Noise Issues EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J.--Roger Goodell said today that one of the issues he's studying in his early days as NFL commissioner is whether the league should take steps to nullify the competitive advantage that some teams get from crowd noise in their home stadiums. In an afternoon meeting with reporters at Giants Stadium, Goodell said he loves having loud, enthusiastic crowds at games but wonders whether the offenses of visiting clubs should have to suffer when their players can't hear quarterbacks' signals. Goodell said that he and members of the league's competition committee will study possible remedies, including a suggestion to place radio receivers in the helmets of other offensive players so that they can hear the quarterback over the crowd noise. Terrible idea. If you want to make the game better make everything reviewable and give two challenges but DON'T take one away when you were right and the call is reversed.
Years ago they used to let the QB step away from the center if it was too loud and then punished the home team if it continued by calling a penalty. That was stupid and putting radio receivers in the helmets is also.

Is he going to punish us when we play the Bears again and let them put in 2 additional LB's? He is, after all, trying to keep it fair.

Scout.com is reporting TB gives up an "undisclosed draft pick" for Bennett. Probably a 5th or 6th. He could do really good in TB. At least he's well-rested. I've always sort of liked Bennett. http://vikings.scout.com/2/691311.html

Will be interesting. He never exactly had patience. And I know that was Pittman's flaw in the system there originally.

Simmons gets it right, these are payback days. I'll be surprised if anyone beats them, even the second-best Colts.

Sorry if this has been posted already... Report: Injured Bills tight end has walked 'to an extent' ESPN.com news services Injured Bills player Kevin Everett has been able to walk to some extent as part of his rehabilitation after suffering a severe spinal cord injury during the team's season opener, sources tell WIVB-TV in Buffalo. Doctors in Houston, where Everett's rehab has been ongoing since mid-September, are optimistic that once Everett completes his rehab he will regain his ability to walk independently, the station reports. Everett, a third-year tight end out of the University of Miami, was injured making a tackle Sept. 9 at home against Denver. Doctors initially said there was little chance Everett would walk again, but that prognosis was revised after Everett showed quick progress in the days after the injury. Everett suffered an incomplete spinal cord injury, meaning there was preservation of some sensation and movement below the injury.

That team is way too talented to be 0-whatever (6 I think). Bulger Jackson Holt That alone should put them in the middle of the pack.

Too bad Bulger and Jackson are hurt, that has to be one of the reasons. They are bound to win a game soon though right?

Injuries have definitely played a large part in the Rams' problems, but remember how we used to complain so loudly about Linehan's playcalling? Maybe we were right. However, our complaint about him not calling enough running plays would be tough for him to correct with Jackson out.
