I'm with ya, Sammy.

Philly's offense has not been impressive to me at all.

Just like the previous times they got to the NFCCG, they did it with defense.

Another reason I don't want McScabb near my team - Joe Buck makes excuses for his sorry ass when he does the fake pick-up-the-Giants sideline phone and gets a taunting penalty.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O-8Z37p10QY&e

But then, I don't see eye-to-eye with Buck on anything. He's the biggest candy-ass I've ever seen on television. That preppy squirrel bait on Newhart could kick his ass.

Worth bolding!  I would still take McNabb for a year or two here though.

I think McNabb might the only quarterback that could make Childress' offense look good. The only reason I want McNabb is because we are stuck with this staff. If we had a real offense, I wouldn't want him.

That's how I feel too.

He's going to take the year off then pounce on the Vikes opening in 2010.

I wouldn't hold my breath for that to happen.

Dungy IMHO it totally done with football.  He has ministry on his mind.

Was there some requirement to wait?

I don't think it is a good idea to get your hopes up for something that will never happen.  If you want to dream, that's fine.  but I can confidently say that Dungy will not coach again at this level.  If he does ANYTHING in football, it will be as a studio host or something.  He's done on the field.

Another reason not to get him. He might prolong Childress' stay by having an occasional decent game. He is pretty fly throwing those 4 yard passes that we love so much.

The Indianapolis Colts have scheduled a news conference for Monday afternoon during which Tony Dungy will announce his retirement after seven seasons as coach.
The news conference is scheduled for 5 p.m. ET at the Colts' practice facility.

So do I...but I am just too grounded in reality.  Our chances of ever having Tony Dungy be our HC is worse than odds of me winning the powerball.

Kurt Warner - Hall of Fame QB?

Given what he is doing down in AZ I would vote yes.  The guy has performed very well and is now taking his 2nd team to the NFC Championship Game.  If AZ pulls off the miracle and wins the SB (or even gets there), I don't see how you keep him out of the Hall.

Thoughts?

You and I have a LOT different idea of what a great offense is, JC.

If you think Philly's offense is anything but lame and boring, we're on totally different pages there.

That's okay, though. I'm willing to wait for Childress to implode and take the Eagles suckshit offense with him when he gets his pink slip eventually. That dink and dunk garbage is the worst football I've ever seen from the Vikings offense.

A great offense is one that wins the Super Bowl, not one with a rushing champion that can't win a single playoff game at home.

If he wins the Super Bowl this year with a second team and/or puts up a few more seasons like this one he has a shot.

A SB win for Arizona would really make a strong case for him.

I never said I would put any money on it but it's nice to hear you think there is a slight chance.

It should be pointed out that Philly's offense hasn't won a Superbowl.

It should also be pointed out that Balitmore had no offense in 2000 and won  Superbowl.

It should also be pointed out that the same offense that won the Superbowl in 1999, lost the Superbowl in 2001.

A great offense is one that moves the ball effectively, especially when it really needs to and scores TDs efficiently when in the Red Zone.

The Vikings and Philly are both weak offenses.

The Vikings are a weak offense but for AD, who elevates them to maybe average. 12th in scoring and 17th in yards.

The Eagles have a good offense with McNabb and Westbrook. 6th in scoring and 9th in yards.

Philly's inability to convert on short yardage really hurts them as an offense.

Funny enough it's our inability to convert on anything outside of short yardage that hurts us

And in both cases...you take just one player out of the equation, Peterson for the Vikes, Westbrook for the Iggles, and their offenses become totally anemic.

But they both have them. The Eagles have a good offense, although perhaps boring to Sammy

The Vikes has a long, long way to go to have an offense as effective as Phillies. I hope coaching is the real difference... I think.
