If KA's offensive approach is to be as effective as the Phillies....well.....that would explain a lot!

I like my dream better than your "guess" of what will happen.

So do I...but I am just too grounded in reality.  Our chances of ever having Tony Dungy be our HC is worse than odds of me winning the powerball.

I never said I would put any money on it but it's nice to hear you think there is a slight chance.

The Vikings and Philly are both weak offenses.

The Vikings are a weak offense but for AD, who elevates them to maybe average. 12th in scoring and 17th in yards.

The Eagles have a good offense with McNabb and Westbrook. 6th in scoring and 9th in yards.

BINGO

If the Vikings offense was as good as the Eagles offense they would still be playing right now.  They have gotten one play from Westbrook all postseason and beaten two division winners by double digits on the road and are about to make it three.

It looks like all the people who looked the other way in his earlier incidents created a predictable outcome. Enabling someone by not charging them with lesser crimes makes them feel like superman. It was probably inevitable that he would think he could get away with shooting someone.

And it looks like he has.

But for some reason he always has been a player that the media loved.  Broadcasters, pundits on the talk shows and journalists always spoke and wrote of him as if he were a great man.  Why did they never bring up any of these past stories?  They (the media) really seem like they are trying to create heroes and villians, despite what the actual truth may be.

Randy Moss wasn't a saint, but look at how the media treated him compared to Harrison.

So the DA is pretty sure but drops the case and Harrison gets nothing and Plaxico is looking at 3 years?

What a joke.

From most accounts, not only did Harrison shoot a man several times with whom he had a beef, he shot innocent bystanders and just about anything moving and doesn't even get charged!

I used to think Peyton Manning got off easy for sexually assaulting a female reporter but shooting people may just be worse.

John,

You've mentioned the sexual assault thing a zillion times, and I'm finally going to correct you. It wasn't a reporter, it was a trainer with the team. Not that it makes a difference in the end, but at least I want to have the facts straight.

And it was in college. He should have been punished for it, but if he hasn't committed another transgression in 15 years (or however long), then it's not a pattern of behavior.

1) From what I hear, that wasn't an isolated incident in college.  And that's coming from a good friend that was a cheerleader at UT.
2) Do you really believe that he hasn't transgressed since?  I don't.

Pete and JC, couldn't agree more on the heroes/villains stuff.  THIS is why I hate the media in general nowadays.

IF it wasn't an isolated incident, then someone should have pressed charges.

I haven't heard a thing about anything since, but then I haven't heard anything over the years about Marvin Harrison either. If word comes out that Peyton Manning has broken the law, I'd be among the first to call him out.

You never hear about 99.9 percent of the incidents that happen with these guys in the public, Lynn.  That's the point.

Pro athletes are a protected class.  Make no mistake, the vast majority of these guys are not people you would want to trust your daughter/mother/sister with.

You can't really be on the fence on which is worse can you?

Wow.

One is a college guy goofing around and the other a grown man who put lives at risk. Tried to kill someone.

Not even close.

I disagree.  Sexual assault is right up there IMO.

Lacking any evidence that he hasn't transgressed since, let just say that he has.

Todd, I'm saying this;

If someone has a history of being a bad dude in college, on multiple occassions, it's relatively unlikely that they're going to become a better person when they're even more untouchable and have more fame/money in the pros.  I always loved Carter's take on this; money doesn't change you; it just accentuates what you really are.  I 100% agree with that.

I don't disagree with you on that Dustin.

I just can't believe bat winging someone is being compared to shooting at someone with the intent of killing them.

Some jackass bat winged me one time. Wasn't the end of the world. Wasn't funny but better than being shot at I'm sure.

So you excuse sexual assault?

What difference does it make if it was a trainer?

If some man did that to my daughter he would not be walking the face of the earth.  I don't care how many years it has been, he should have went to prison.

He is a sexual predator - of course because he is a white QB people will completely ignore that.

Goofing around?

Funny how you classify sexual assault.

Next you will say that she was asking for it.

Let some 230 pound man rub his balls in your face and tell me it was goofing around.

Yes, it is close as to which one is worse.  In fact, I would rather get shot in an incident where I didn't suffer serious damage than have some dude rub his balls in my face!

Actually I read the whole thing and it was nothing more than weak excuses for Peyton Manning and completely ignored the magnitude of the crime.

1. Reporter or trainer doesn't matter

2. Whether he has had another transgression since doesn't matter.

He committed sexual assault in front of witnesses and wasn't prosecuted - it is the same as Harrison.

You might excuse sexual assault, I don't.

1. Reporter or trainer doesn't matter Which is what I said and you ignored.

2. Whether he has had another transgression since doesn't matter.I disagree vehemently. Someone showing a pattern of misbehavior is completely different than someone making one mistake. And courts of law agree with me and disagree with you.

He committed sexual assault in front of witnesses and wasn't prosecuted - it is the same as Harrison. As I said. He should have paid for his crime way back when he committed it.

You might excuse sexual assault, I don't.Typical strawman. I never said I excuse sexual assault. If the first part of your sentence is incorrect, should I assume the second part is untrue? That's where you leave a person when you introduce a strawman.

It's amazing that I was able to recover from such an aggressive sexual assault.

You are way to anal on this John. (some reports say he bumped his ass in her face so pun intended)

Too funny that you'd rather be shot at....as long as the the damage wasn't life threatening IE random luck.
