Either you are adaptive to change or you are rigid and inflexible clinging to rituals and beliefs that are highly subjective and arbitrary.

No league or team is fielding home grown talent. I would love it if the Blue Jays were all Canadian. Or if we had an NFL team, I think it would be cool if they were all Canadian.

Or in same manner, constructed to field a majority.

It's not like one is rooting against that or for that because it doesn't work like that.

Is Manning too much of a Colts icon that you wouldn't want him?

You'll take talent as long as they are not embraced by the local fans?

I guess it doesn't seem that simple to me.

Dude, why is getting McNabb selling your soul, but getting Jared Allen not?

I was talking about Todd's cry for Favre last off season.

As far as McNabb, I just don't want the crappy offense. Whatever makes you happy. It's a ****ing game anyhow...

Let's just forget the whole thing. I don't care who we get any more. Sign everyone. It won't matter if we have the all-Madden team. We'll still have the Eagles offense.

Man, are you upset?

I totally understand not wanting certain players. I did not want Favre last year. I hated Jim McMahon. I'm not trying to grill you, it was a serious question, is McNabb like Favre, are the Eagles like the Packers, or what? I'm not a huge fan of McNabb's, just wondering where he fit for you.

Jared Allen was the face of a horrible Chiefs but I was happy to get him, and consider him a Viking now. Jim McMahon was never a Viking. I wouldn't mind McNabb, seeing him in purple he'd be a Viking, to me. I get the idea, I'm just wondering what it is about McNabb for you.

It's not a big deal.

It's not McNabb, it's the Eagles offense that bothers me. No matter, I'm resigned to watching a shitty offense until Childress gets the axe...

And I really like offense. But not the 2 yard dump pass to a ground sloth and our grade school blocking schemes.

I'm with you on that one, Chilly has the worst offense the NFL has ever seen. I think he'd make Peyton, Brady and Elway look bad in his offense.

Montana could probably make it work.

Yeah I didn't like McMahon in purple for the same reason I wouldn't want Favre. I'm sick of hearing about them.

McNabb doesn't bother me. Urlacher would.

I'd like Jennings from GB, CB Manning from Chicago....

I guess it's guys that I don't think deserve the media spotlight because they are just average. Like McMahon, Favre, Urlacher......

I don't get the hate for the Eagles.

I don't hate the Eagles, in fact... I'm glad they are in Philadelphia and not Minnesota. You would sell your soul for a ****ing game, I wouldn't. Simple stuff. We just disagree.

Dude, why is getting McNabb selling your soul, but getting Jared Allen not?

I'm just asking, which are the free agents that are acceptable to get, and which aren't, and what standard are you applying here? Do you feel the same way about Jared Allen, a Chief, for instance? Or Bernard Berrian, a Bear? Do you not root for any Viking unless they were drafted and brought up through the "sytem"?

Honestly, I dislike Chilly's affection for bad Eagle players as much as anyone.

The problem is Bard gets the WRONG eagles players - McMullen, Holcomb, etc - and passes on the right ones like Garcia (2 years ago) and McNabb (if he was available).

McNabb's is just about wrapped up in Philly as word here is that they will use one of their 2 1st round picks in a trade for Boldin

You guys do realize that the Eagles offense was #6 in points and #9 in yards with a cast not much better than our's?

I don't get the "sucky" Eagles offense comments.

Perfect compliment to Jackson. That would be a great move. They could probably just sign TJ, but I think Boldin is worth the #1.

Just shows how much the game has deteriorated. To each his own, I guess. I remember watching the Eagles/Vikings playoff game and the announcer said that McNabb had 300 yards passing and I was thinking, "Don't you mean 100 yards?"

sad......

The Eagles talent, McNabb, Westbrook and Jackson could be phenominal in a different system. I don't think it's the players that make that offense somewhat boring, I think they have some of the most talented players in the league and that's what saved that offensive scheme.

If our offense was as good as the Eagles we would at least have made the NFC CG and maybe the SB

Jets Eyeing Marc Bulger?
Thu Feb 12, 2009

The New York Daily News reports St. Louis Rams QB Marc Bulger remains a potential salary-cap casualty. He's a player who would interest the Jets.

I'd take Bulger any day....

Another overrated guy IMO.   He had a couple good seasons but you have to take in to account the weapons he had.

Bulger?  Over McNabb?

Last 2 years

Bulger - 22 TDs, 28 INTs

That is worse than Jackson!

I think this is coming from the thought process that we don't want TJack starting next year...people don't stop to think that we don't just want a replacement for TJack...we want somebody who is actually BETTER.  If we aren't going to improve over TJack than we may as well just start TJack.  Go with the Devil you know instead of the Devil you don't know.

Names like Derek Anderson, Matt Cassel, Marc Bulger, Sage Rosenfels, etc etc etc etc...keep popping up...

Folks we don't just want a different person at the position...we want someone who will actually be better at the job.

That's why I advocate Jeff Garcia, McNabb, Hasselbeck (if healthy), Warner, or Palmer, MAYBE, Leftwich, OR NOBODY.  There is no Matt Ryan or Joe Flacco in this coming draft.  And there are no other QBs that sound like they are going to be available in FA or for trade that are good enough to supplant TJack...plain and simple.  Our options really are limited...but we must improve at the position...if we can't, then concentrate on getting another beast at the WR position and shore up the OLine and pray TJack can get the job done.

Kurt Warner had crappy play before the Cards picked him up too. There are no guarantees, especially when you're searching for a QB.

Standing pat with Jackson? Blech. I'm not excited about any of the other QBs, but I'd roll the dice on Garcia, Bulger, etc.

Maybe we could just trade straight up for the whole ****ing Eagles team and add Favre to save our franchise.

Where are the old school fans? Danimal??

full lurk mode, except occasional politics posting, for obvious off-season disgusting reasons....

I don't think that is true.  Kurt only had 1 bad year and it was clearly because of his broken hand.  He was coming off a season in NY where he only played in 10 games but had a 86.4 QB rating - far better than the the 70s Bulger put up 2 years in a row.  Kurt has only had 1 year in his career with more INTs than TDs.

Plus, he did a lot more with the same cast that Bulger inherited.

Anything different over this tired offense we have right now. McNabb is just more of what I don't like... Wet Toast.

Well JC, you like Philly's offense. I don't.

It's just weird watching a game we just won and feeling like someone kicked the shit out of me. Until Philly Chilly came along, I'd never experienced feeling down after actually WINNING a game.

He's a dandy. Get him and his lame worthless Eagles offense off of my team.

And if you really want to see this offense, watch every play that AD is not on the field. There you have the awesome kick ass offense in full glory.

It sux and McNabb won't unsuck it. He might just help us get a 4 yard gain on 3rd and long instead of of our 2yd ass paddling we usually shell out in that position. He needs to stay in Philly and help the Eagles choke every year. He's got that down. We choke just fine without him teaching the young guys how to fall on their faces.

Funny, I like an offense that ranks 6th in points scored over what we have had for 4 years - call me crazy.

Do you really think that's McNabb though? The one year they broke from the west toast (which pissed Chilly off to no end) he was lobbing the ball deep to TO like a madman.

I think McNabb can play in a lot of different systems. I think he's been as much a victim of the Philly offense as a beneficiary. My God they have stuck with some horrific receivers.
