P.A. just said that Wade Phillips has NOT been at the team facilities yet this morning, which is highly unusual. Not any announcement, but something looks fishy.

They should just let Garrett take over.  Find out what you have with him and figure things out from there.

Speculation down here is that he won't go only because Jones doesn't want to bring in another guy until the lockout is settled.  JJ is pretty sure one is coming and doesn't want to have a Gruden/Cowher on the books and pay him when there isn't a season.

I don't know what replacing Phillips at this point does. They are not making the playoffs that's for sure. A high profile guy (e.g., Cowher, JJ 2.0) would probably not come in until next year. The only reason would be avoid a complete meltdown like we saw last night, and save Jones more embarrasement.

Post Roids check. Brian Cushing is all of a sudden a very ordinary/average player.

Heck at this point, I'm sure Jones is salivating at a top 5 pick. Would be an interesting dilema if Luck is available for them.

Well - he gave him the vote of confidence, but Jerry Jones fired Wade Phillips today. Jason Garrett to be the interim head coach.

I guess we'll get to watch the experiment play out in Dallas and see how a change in coach mid season works out.

Supreme Court refuses to tackle 'Williams Wall' case
The decision means state laws apply to players for the National Football League.

He had to fire Phillips.

That team has literally given up.

That's poor coaching if you can't motivate these guys to give 100% effort.

As Craig said, they get 8 games to see how Garrett handles it.

The Vikes should the same with Frazier, NOW. Well, Tuesday (11/9/10) would be fine.

It's IDEAL to do it now, and you get 8 games to compare and see if there is a difference with the same group of players within the same season. You try Frazier next year, and you MIGHT waste another ENTIRE season seeing what he can do at HC, and it gets hard to evaluate early on because it's a different group from the year before.

NOW is the time to act on this.

No way Garrett gets the gig next year.  He's afraid of the media and they take him to task over it.  Jones' people are saying he had no intention of making a move until after the season but felt embarressed and had to send the fans SOME sort of positive msg.

At this point, Garrett isn't even a good offensive coordinator

Exactly.  He somehow get lumped in with the other "hot candidates" like Bevell.

I still can't believe Mayock said that during the preseason.

I just read that Stafford could be done for the year again.  Kid could be a good QB but is quickly becoming a huge bust.

When he's on the field.  He's pretty good.  His problem now is staying on the field.

I don't think his shoulder ever completely healed from last year's injury.

Makes you wonder if he ever will be able to play at the NFL level

The tackle was just a regular tackle and yet it ruined his shoulder again

And isn't it supposedly a different shoulder injury than the last one?

Some guys are made for flag football

Kelly Campbell comes to mind

He would have been the DeSean Jackson of flag football

This is kind of funny given the amount of crap thrown their way by this board

1. Michael Vick, PHI 105.3
2. Vince Young, TEN 103.1
3. Philip Rivers, SD 102.9
4. David Garrard, JAC 98.8
5. Peyton Manning, IND 96.1

Or the CFL where Campbell has done quite well with the Edmonton Eskimos.

The Phins released Jason Allen to get him. Allen has gotten beat several times this season but I usually saw him matched up on some dangerous receivers. He's better than Harris IMO.

That's about as harsh as anything Viking players have said about Childress. It's nice to know that there are other teams having some internal troubles. The worst of them is Dallas.

Losing out on Harris is no big loss for the Vikings.

His whole game has been hang on the receiver and hope they don't call PI.  And when it's time to tackle go after the dude's knees.
