Is there anything more ridiculous in the NFL than the pretense that the current Browns are the Browns of Jim Brown and Brian Sipe?

What a joke.

If the Vikings move to LA and become the Earthquakes or something, a new team will not be the team of Fran, Moss, and Peterson

The source said $40 million of the deal will be guaranteed.

McNabb, who will turn 34 later this month, agreed to an extension just two weeks after he was benched at the end of a loss to the Lions because coach Mike Shanahan said the quarterback didn't have a grasp of the teams' 2 minute offense.

Shanahan later cited McNabb's ailing hamstrings as one of the reasons he pulled McNabb in the final minutes of the loss.

Last week, McNabb said he was able to clear the air in talks with Shanahan and offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan. He said he was satisfied with what he heard.

"Yes, I'm satisfied," McNabb said last week. "You get what you ask for, and after that you put it behind you and move on."

McNabb, who was traded by the Eagles to the Redskins before the season, faces Philadelphia on Monday night for the second time this season. He led Washington to a 17-12 victory at Philadelphia on Oct. 3.

On last night's broadcast they gave the figure of $10 million that was guaranteed. There seems to be some confusion about the contract.

Mike Florio was just on KFAN and said that the real contract is the $10 million guaranteed bonus - not $40 million.

They are paying him an additional $3.75 million just for the option of extending him after this year, but nothing beyond the $10 million is guaranteed. The Redskins aren't committed beyond this year with the way it was worded.

The contract makes him almost untradeable. If the Redskins cut him he can be had for nothing, but I don't think anyone is going to trade for that contract.

If someone wants McNabb they can trade for him and re-work his contract depending upon future cap rules.

Why trade instead of waiting for him to be cut?

1. Make sure you get him
2. No bidding war
3. Get him in early for all OTAs
4. Have QB position set before draft

Remember, Shanahan could screw him over by cutting him late after teams have set their QB rosters.

OTA's? With no CBA and the NFL wanting to expand to 18 games, the players are countering with less off season workouts so we won't see all the OTA's anymore

It is still important to get a new QB in early so he can start learning the offense. Of course if it is McWormBall he probably knows 90% of the offense from Philly.
